I do wish there was a way to just force delay in training mode. My main issue with the rollback is that it locks your delay frames at 3 and since you can't set that in training mode, ggoing back and forth between the lab and matches feels weird.

Tbh, I feel the FGC not showing enough respect to the Persona Arena games. They have a large roster, unique and fun mechanisms, fully dubbed story modes, and original characters not even exist in the main games of the series.
I don't know man P4Arena were hella popular with FGC back in the day. It's Atlus killed the hype of this gane with their backwards bullshit.

The story mode in Ultimax is trash compared to vanilla. Vanilla's story mode was like watching an anime.
Dead on arrival thanks to the port not coming with rollback. They put rollback on it since then but first impressions matters a lot lol

@@kakanugroho294 it's actually better here, it's basically a projectile which is slow moving but will chase down the player though I don't believe it can be deflected unless the opponent hits you and disrupts it. it instead drains the oppoenent's sp and the player gains the sp it stole

Huh, didn't expect to see an FGC legend pop up in my recomendeds playing the only fighting game I've ever been decent at. You did a great job figuring out how Mitsuru works, and AFAIK she's one of the more difficult characters to pick up, so there's that.

This combo was ridiculous. Not going to lie it took a day and afew hours on my end. But I managed to do the 99 plus combo. After that I drop the game. I wasn't that good with fighting games. I was mainly a Tekken n DOA player around that time.

For those that don't know the game actually does have an intended combo for the last challenge, but it was released separately as free DLC so that people could challenge themselves first instead of being able to view the demonstration and get the answer right away

Good job Justin . Combos seem so frustrating in this game. Not only you gotta get the timing on the moves in the combo but then you also have to get down timing on how long to hold the button . Either holding for too long or not enough even though you hit the right button. wtf I probably wouldn't have put that together as why the combos were not working. Just always remember... release the D

I assume they would save a new arena title for persona 6. That way we get to see grown up p4 and p5 characters.

I actually never got past challenge 22 with Mitsuru, and I only managed to finish it all with Elizabeth, but seeing how even Justin was struggling with them, I see now that I never had a chance.
This was the first fighting game I tried to learn and for some reason my beginner ass chose Ken. His trials tore me to shreds

1. Return to character select
2. Pick shadow Mitsuru
3. Shadow frenzy
That's it, that's all you gotta do. You just win.

Wonder how many persona fans bought and played this game and went to become Fighting game and ArcSys fans?
With Woolie it was the opposite. He was an FGC guy and became a Persona guy thanks to these games.
Not sure if this game was a great entry point in fgs for Persona fans. But if Arcsys made a P5 fg with their modern fg style then it would be big, maybe close to DBFZ. But right now it's too late for P5. If there's ever a new Persona fg it will be based on P6 and include some old chars.
@@carlosaugusto9821 there is a possibility a p5 arena can exist, p6 could be still a long ways yet and from the famous leaker allegedly there is a project that does exist but has not passed the development phase implying the other company (this case arcs) is busy on other works (most likely strive)

IIRC they actually let you download the demo for those last trials in (I think) the first game, which I guess is not a thing for Ultimax. Not sure what the point of unlocking them after you finished is, when the internet exists, other than the devs being complete trolls.

ive been designing fighting games for my own stories, kinda as a fun side project when my brain cant do anything else, but if i ever do actually get them made... combo trials seem like a nice fun way to hurt i mean entertain people!

If we have a persona 5 arena I want the shadows to be the default play style. The shadows are the ones that have the cool combos but The regular are still better. Not universally but for most part regular forms are allround better
you referring to the auto-combos? most of the normal autos are seen as better though there are some exceptions like yukiko's old auto is better then the new auto she got and the shadow uses her old one. the receptions of shadows are kind of funky as it is fun to pull of frenzy combos but many feel like they shouldn't come back in a future entry because they introduce balance issues, 1.1 they were mostly irrelevant with a few exceptions and in 2.0 most of them are superior (except s.rise, she still sucks) and note not everyone has a shadow and said characters are don't are built around the awakening gimmick which shadows don't really use (they do have innate awakening supers but they don't have the stat boosts awakening gives)

Pretty much every game has button config nowadays, luckily for you. It's generally easy to pick up, just hard to master

Maaan, they really couldn't be bothered with these challenges. DIY 90 hit combo feels like "we couldn't make it in the deadline, but we also had a quota".
They give you a demonstration after you get the trial, so they did have a combo, they just told you to mess with moves and find something
it's a good test to see if you actually understand game's mechanics
