As an owner of the blu ray, it sounds like this one isn't worth upgrading unless its been heavily discounted. Thanks for the info!
I worked at Stratton Oakmont for about a year in the mid 90's. I was only a kid and didn't realize the illegal stuff going on until it got shut down. Those guys were crazy and would blow money like it was going out of style.
Another great review I was waiting for your thoughts on this. I don’t presently have this on any format. As a lover of Dolby Atmos it’s disappointing to know they didn’t add that track. That said I still want this for my collection. It’s been a long time since I have seen it so I don’t remember it that all to well.
Great movie - one that I have watched many times before. It got five Oscar nominations and should have won best picture. I have it on Blu-ray and it looks great so I probably will not upgrade to 4K. Thank you for being honest and informative on your reviews.

Looking at screenshots of the 4K, it looked pretty good to me since I didn't own the existing Blu Ray, it seemed like going ahead and getting the 4K was the way to go in that situation. I got the 4K steelbook though, because I do really like the artwork lol (though yeah I understand some people don't care for "pop art"-style artwork like that, but I personally do).
Appreciate your honesty Adam. This sounds like a hard pass for me.
It was the director that approved the 4k transfer.
I got the steelbook, because I didn't own this film. The steelbook comes with the standard blu-ray as well. It's a banger.
I know it wasn't going to be a big upgrade like goodfellas 4k. Hopefully we get a separate release on taxi driver 4k
Could you tell me if the Blu-ray included with the steel book includes the two new features that are on the 4K, or if it’s just the wolf pack like the previous release?
I was lucky enough to get the arrow Ltd edition box. I havent gotten round to checking it out yet though.
I'll probably just drop down and purchase the blu ray edition then

That's interesting. I got the steelbook and it came with the blu ray as well. Odd the standard didn't. Have other 4k movies done this in the past?
Some recent releases have been doing this.
The movie is amazing and wildly entertaining. Unfortunately, having a LCD/LED TV and the Dolby Vision just blows out the all definition and contrast in the picture. The colors just ended up looking too white, and the whites were glaring to look at. Obviously, I need to go buy an OLED or QD-OLED tv but I found the HDR10 presentation to look a little bit better than the DV presentation on my TV.
My TV is a Sony X90J for anyone wondering.
Can you tell me what display are viewing this movie on?

Really hate when studios don't bother to upgrade the audio. You are asking me to double if not triple dip on a movie. The least you can do is provide an updated sound mix .
I tried watching some of it in 4k and I dont really like it. The color is very muted and it seems really dim. I am disappointed with this and may have to stick with the blu ray. Also an Atmos track should have been included. Thanks for the review Adam.
Why does "BLACK CRUSH" mean? Is it over inky?
Not much detail in blacks, shadows
The black are just murky, barely any detail in the black suit
@@FastEddie86 So like blotchy? I have BULLETT the Steve McQueen movie on bluray and that is lots of black blotches where black colors are.

The Steelbook edition has the Blu-ray included.

I don’t need the Blu-ray Disc, I still have the previous release.
Got the Blu-ray recently for $5 so I won’t be upgrading.
Got it on tuesday and watched a few scenes. Not one that will blow you away but overall I was happy with it. IMO it's a big enough upgrade to justify a purchase

Just the picture and sound opinion
It will put people off your opinion on the picture and sound if you give a film a bad review if they like that particular film
I'm sure most reasonable people can discern the difference.
I used to just review the specs but people wanted me to talk about the movie too. Can’t please everyone.
