Man, Better Call Saul has a ton of really great character scenes too. The actors, Vince Gilligan, the funky shots, the dialog, the foreshadowing, the music. BCS is also a much slower burn than BB, but everything is so great I realized Vince Gilligan could trick me into watching paint dry for an hour, and I wouldn't even be mad.

It's very amusing to see Gus initially reject Walt's preference for Jesse, when it's exactly that dog-like obedience and loyalty that Gus uses against Walt to take hold of Jesse.
I love that you get the sense it must be him very subtly when he looks behind him to see if anyone is listening but then kept pressing as though he wasn't who Walter thought he was. Cautious as he was described.

@Shen Wishes Walt had a DEA agent as in front of him and had a lot of things that went out of control while having to largely operate by himself while Gus had a lot of men, resources and the cartel to help him keep the heat away from him and do the hands-on grunt work of helping run a drug empire while he handled the business and set up a supply line.
Masterful acting by Giancarlo. Just absolutely great stuff. That sudden tone change when Walt said they’re alike. You felt the disgust in that statement radiating from Gus. This whole scene is just a work of art.
I know that having money is good. But I don't understand why would anyone try hard to expand and grow his wealth from 20 million to 500 million. As I can remember, every batch was sold for 96 million. He didn't travel, he didn't change his car, he doesn't have children and expenses. So the restaurants income was good enough for him.
I think Todd put it best when he said "Why stop when you can have more?" or something like that. People are rarely satisfied with what they have if there's a chance to make more. And with Gus I think it was more so about gaining ultimate power and control (which is further proved in Better Call Saul)

I'm not saying gus doesn't hate hector or the cartel, or that he has no emotions towards them. I'm saying the motive for killing these people are purely business.

@Shen Wishes Walt had a DEA agent as in front of him and had a lot of things that went out of control while having to largely operate by himself while Gus had a lot of men, resources and the cartel to help him keep the heat away from him and do the hands-on grunt work of helping run a drug empire while he handled the business and set up a supply line.
