My fiancé just had a needle stick accident at work, the patient she was working on is positive hep c, we're waiting for the 12 week period for testings to be done, from the research I have done there is 10% chance of becoming infected, I hope the results come back negative, I fear for the worse :( pls pray for her
thank you for asking, yes she is ok, she tested 3 times and all 3 times the results came negative thank god, this kinds of work accidents are really scary and not fun to go through, 100000 thoughts run through your head non stop, imo it makes the healthcare jobs not worth it!!!
I’m currently going through test I got a Needlestick with insulin syringe and the pt got hep c the first result was negative so I have to go back again. My doctor told me it’s rare with the insulin string
Thank God everything is ok this happened to me the other day with a patient I had little finger prick from a hep patient I’ve been a nervous wreck praying I’ll be ok I’m going for repeat blood work in two weeks I’m praying 🙏
This video is of a nurse that suffered several needlestick injuries and contracted hepatitis C. Healthcare professionals have learned many new practices that can keep themselves as well as their patients safer.
