I love the fact that you take the time to look at the views and the wildlife - not just crunching out the miles like many WHW videos. Thanks for sharing it.
I can't say enough about how friendly the Scottish people are. And funny. I also have never seen the color green like it is in Scotland. Even Ireland's green is somehow different from Scotland's green meadows and hillsides. Thanks for the beautiful videography and for taking us on your journey. Be good to yourself and that bundle you're carrying.
ABSOLUTELY beautiful music, For The Love Of A Princess, starting the video…Hope your big ol’ belly, Rodney and yourself are well, with love and joy. Stunning countryside…makes me want to plant a variety of wonderful native trees. Love that you love to video critters. Please pamper yourself…Thank you for sharing this adventure…from East Tennessee.
The Scots are the most kind people and they have the best senses of humor of any nationality that I've ever experienced. This is making me want to go to Scotland again.
Your finest video ever! The scenes and music blend wonderfully. We appreciate your gear centric vids, but this direction shows a better travelog inclination.
When you were on the shuttle I thought it would be cool if y’all stayed at the same inn I stayed in when I was there. And you did! Glencoe was my favorite part of Scotland. It was absolutely beautiful.
I live in scotland and work outdoors and I live in my torrentshell all year round. It's ideal for the climate and tough enough to last! Sometimes carrying a few extra grams is worth it!
That's my favourite section of the entire walk right there. It's also about the only section where you get into real wilderness with no shops or roads nearby except at the ends.
It looks like you had better than me climbing up from Bridge of Orchy, I had heavy rain and gale force winds and with sleet. The path was stream that cut by fast flowing streams and wind was blowing my hiking Poles sideways as I was moving them.
Your vid opening scenes & Braveheart music capture the essence & majesty of this place. Perfect choice. Editing fantastic even down to the deer lifting its head in time to the music. That view over Loch Tulla blew me away. 11:34 The same mini-bus & the same driver I had to ferry me back from Glencoe the following day! You must have booked with Macs Adventures! The drive down through the Glen is superb. Love how you notice the little things & capture the tiny critters & insects on camera.
I absolutely love my patagonia torrentshell for those conditions! It never let me down. The pitzips are a gamechanger for me, because I am always sweaty. Pairing it with a merino Shirt and everything is fine
I'm so glad you got to see Glencoe! One of the most magical place I've ever seen, and the weather we had was almost exactly like what you had. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
I am so enjoying the scenery you have been sharing from this trip. It looks like the 2.75 of your family has been having a great time! This is a hike on my own bucket list, and I feel I have received one of the best video looks at it thanks to you!
Just completed AZT Passage 1 this past weekend (total: 131.8mi in sections thus far) in my ALTRA's and had a great time! I would also absolutely suggest light rain gear for the AZT; I hope you can make a go of it again, it is my backyard and I absolutely love it!
Another wonderful episode and you are so fortunate to have encountered the deer! FYI- my wife and I have just migrated to Patagonia Torrentshell rain jackets and our initial experience confirms your recommendation of the jacket. Ironically we never once used our rain gear in June 2023 on the WHW.
Stunning, just stunning! Beautifully edited. I’ve made several trips to Scotland and I love it more each time. You managed to capture what and why I love it so much. Thank you!
Aye, even in the warmer summers, which this one definitely is not, the temperature can plummet pretty quickly here. It's always a good idea to have the "big jaykit" ready. But as Billy Connoly said, there's no bad weather, only a bad choice of clothes !
Another beautiful and well-done video with lovely soothing music that really augments the walk! So gorgeous! We who can't do it anymore salute you! LOL! Dixie, what is heather and what is gorse? Its supposed to be out there, but I don't know what it is. And heather is supposed to be blooming, 🎵🎶" all among the bloomin' heather, will ye go, laddie, go? " 🎶🎵🎼So what is it? And what about the "moors". What are moors? "....the road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moors when the Highwayman came riding, riding, up to the old inn door." Always have wondered why were the "moors" purple? Can you find out while you are there?
Oh wow! You are in for a treat . . . Moors are wild, free, uncultuvated areas that are higher in elevation than the farmed lands but below the mountain peaks. Heather and gorse are the dominant plants there, both low woody bushes with a lot of small fragrant flowers. Heather in dark pinks and purples. Gorse bushes grow a little higher and more open and have vivid yellow flowers. A type of wild blueberry called bilberry also grows there.
Yeah, the thicker jacket is a good idea- it's been a wet one this year in Britain, the weather has been awful. I've just gone and got myself a new rain jacket for my part of northern Britain. It just doesn't stop raining this year! 😊
One of my favourite stretches of the WHW. Funnily enough, I met an American family on this stretch in 2020. The mother was carrying a baby AND a toddler (who'd got tired walking). What an adventure that must have been for them all. Was that an American B&B owner? 🤔😅
I've been looking forward to watching this video all day and the peaceful music and scenery were exactly what I needed after a really shitty day at work. I love watching all your travels.
Awesome you two are. . .I felt like putting on my Kilt watching this adventure threw the Highlands of Scotland, till you showed the mother tummy. That's when I decided to stay comfy in my PJ's and bare foot just for you. Thanks for the sharing video as always your the best.
Billow and breeze, islands and seas, Mountains of rain and sun, All that was good, all that was fair, All that was me is gone. I suppose Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Sing me a Song of a Lad that is Gone” may be fitting for new to be parents but also a bit melodramatic.
A thought about the blister on your foot. When I was pregnant my feet grew a full size bigger and I didn’t realize that was even a thing! I had to buy a full size bigger in shoe size by the end of my pregnancy and they stayed bigger!
I walked the Great Glen Way In 2012 which goes from Fort Williams to Inverness. I can see that I should have walked the West Highland Way because it is more wild country. The Great Glen Way follows more tow paths and dirt roads. Actually I enjoyed the Coast to Coast trail in England more because it was more wild country.
Congrats on the life changes - curious, did you book the WHW through Mac’s Adventures? I used them to book for next May doing the Dales Way, Hadrian’s Wall and the West Highland Way. Are you happy with their service? So far, I’m pleased.
I swear we are heading back to the ice age. Here in Scotland anyway. It's been MISERABLE for the past couple of summers. We do get rain but c'mon. This is ridiculous lol
Is there anything more beautiful than a pregnant woman? As a dad to 4 and Papa to 8 almost 9 I can say definitively absolutely not. Congratulations again to you and Rodney
Interesting re topo athletic, not a well known brand in UK. I wore barefoot boots - big mistake. Was contemplating some Alta lone peaks for my next attempt - u reckon the topos are better?
What drone do you use; as I'm assuming you are not using the rare 'flying haggis' only found in the NW of Scotland...........and are you traveling with MAC's ?
As I was watching this video and thinking about the other videos, It dawned on me just how rocky or covered in loose stone all the trails seem to be. I think If I tried walking those paths I would twist both my ankles after walking the first several feet. Man girl, you must be part mountain goat. Is there an exercise or set that strengthens your feet/ankles?
Additiional comment: Curious to know when you did this hike. YT says 2 months ago but one has to allow for editing time & uploading. The reason I ask is cos I recognise the mini-bus driver you had & when he took us back to the ski resort he was telling us about the different people who do this hike. He spoke of a young lady who'd done it when 6 months pregnant but then qualified it saying she'd also done the Appalachian Trail. Having checked through your uploads this has to be you!! I was in Glencoe on 7/8 July. I actually videoed this journey so have the actual conversation. EDIT: Have just dug out that video and it WAS you. The 'previous week' he said so that would be early July. It's a small world sometimes.
Many routes and bridges were built in the 1720's and 1730's by the English General Wade when Scotland was a "problem" to help move troops around the country, unlike the roman roads in england they were not always extremely straight. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_roads_of_Scotland
I think this is my favorite series that you have ever done, the scenery and the music... I'm just blown away!
I love the fact that you take the time to look at the views and the wildlife - not just crunching out the miles like many WHW videos. Thanks for sharing it.
"Yeah, but that's because there's a steering wheel on this side." 🤣🤣🤣 I so need to go there.

Love your videos and music selections. 🥰
My fave lady who is amazing at what she does and she has the utmost respect for wildlife. 🙋🙏🎉
Glencoe is one of my favorite places on earth. The natural beauty overwhelmed me in every possible way .
The Scots are the most kind people and they have the best senses of humor of any nationality that I've ever experienced. This is making me want to go to Scotland again.
Been following you since the AT you are the best always enjoy your videos so happy for you and your husband god bless and be safe
Your finest video ever! The scenes and music blend wonderfully. We appreciate your gear centric vids, but this direction shows a better travelog inclination.
So many beautiful shades of green everywhere you look.
This is so pretty and green! It's nice to see you looking well and hiking with your loved ones.
"pregnant.. orangutan.." 😂 hooray for you for staying outdoors, active and happy! Enjoying your videos!
She cracked me up doing that! I love her sense of humor!
@@ChrisSunHwa:)). Hello 👋 from Poland and my rural life channe😊
I walked the WHW September 2022. You are bring back so many memories for me. Thank you. ❤❤
I've recently bought some Topo Traverse and I absolutely love them! I've had the Altra Long Peaks for years and they just don't have enough cushion.
When you were on the shuttle I thought it would be cool if y’all stayed at the same inn I stayed in when I was there. And you did! Glencoe was my favorite part of Scotland. It was absolutely beautiful.
You got the songs from Braveheart AND Outlander in there! Good job!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Love the nod to “Outlander “. Every time I’m watching one of the Scotland videos, it always comes to mind.
Oh, Dixie, you always leave us wanting more! Thank you for everything!
Wish I was there. Living vicariously thru your adventures-thanks.

Nice shoes, Rodney! Brooks Cascadia? 😂👍😊 The velvet still on the deer’s antlers goes well with the soft gray of the sky. Ever so peaceful 🥰
Love everything about this trail. Looks doable for most people.

The walk across Rannoch Moor was my favorite part of the WHW
I just love wildlife bits, patiently photographed and videoed,
Absolutely beautiful!!!

Looked at that deer and at it's ind end and though "Man! Look at all those ticks!" Beautiful music, beautiful scenery.

aye its been unusually cold. we had more snow less than a week ago. it has suppressed the midgies though

Wish I could watch this series on a BIG Enough Big Screen TV to do your exquisite video justice.
this stretch of the hike was beautiful
Really enjoying your WHW videos! I think I may do this next summer.
Beautiful! 👍👍

Thank you for the video
You’re in SCOTLAND?! WELCOME! I’m amazed! I love hiking the West Highland Way- I live in Edinburgh ❤
Beautiful!
I think the placing of the rocks captures both of you perfectly
Loved it!
Wonderful stuff indeed , very best wishes to you and your subs !
Such beautiful country. 🤩🤩
Billow and breeze, islands and seas,
Mountains of rain and sun,
All that was good, all that was fair,
All that was me is gone.

Scotland has only 2 seasons, Winter and June 🙃
Glad you are enjoying my gloomy home country🙂
New Shoes by Paolo Nutini, such a great song choice! 🎶

Love how nice all the locals are!

Isn't it sad to see that all that land was once forested and is now so barren? May the Ents take over again.
I keep wondering whether Scotland and Britain don't naturally have any trees on the hills?
I recognize the brave fart music immediately
Speed bonny boat like a bird on the wing, over the sea to Skye...
Is there anything more beautiful than a pregnant woman? As a dad to 4 and Papa to 8 almost 9 I can say definitively absolutely not. Congratulations again to you and Rodney
