Croydon, the ultimate destination for retro gaming enthusiasts! In this video, I take you on an epic journey through the secret spots of Croydon to uncover some of the rarest and most sought-after retro games.
We visit four of the best retro game shops in the area, each with their own unique selection of games and gaming paraphernalia. Join me as we delve into the world of retro gaming and discover some hidden gems that are sure to make any collector's heart race.
Our first stop is at Game On, a hidden gem in Croydon's heart. This store specializes in retro games and accessories, and I was blown away by their incredible selection. From classic NES games to rare Sega Saturn titles, Game On had it all.
Next, we head to CEX, a store that is infamous for retro game collecting here in the UK. The Croydon CEX did not disappoint and had the largest amount of carts for the Nintendo and Sega systems I have seen in a CEX store before from Super Nintendo and NES through to Megadrive the retro games in this CEX were impressive.
Our third stop is at Cash Convertors which is hit and miss and on this occasion, not the best result but a few Nintendo Switch games were available along with modern PS5 consoles and games.
Last but not least, we visit Playnantion Games Croydon, a retro gaming store that has a huge selection of games and consoles from all eras. Their collection of rare games and consoles is unparalleled, and I was lucky enough to find some hidden gems that I had not seen in the wild for years.
Overall, if you're a retro gaming enthusiast, Croydon is a must-visit destination. With its incredible selection of game shops and hidden gems, you're sure to find something that will satisfy your inner collector. Don't miss out on this incredible retro gaming adventure!

Hi OG, great video and some nice pickups, some games mentioned I will need to look into...Had decent pickups myself including Secret Command for Master System, Chase HQ for Gameboy, Quickshot Arcade 🕹️ all for £22 in Super Retro Video Games in Sheffield

Never played any of the Broken Sword games but they do have a good reputation. I love me some adventure games. My favorite is Day of the Tentacle, an absolute classic.
Not played Day of the Tentacle matey but am aware of the title. Point and click games back then we’re awesome LucasArts made some amazing titles. As for the Broken Sword game played an hour with the Mrs tonight not bad but slow to start but improves as you go on 😎🍺
Great footage I’ve done videos on them spots on my channel as often go around different areas enjoy your energy and perspective it’s what brings people back time and time again. Croydon for sure has alot to digest for game hunting

That atari 7800 game was crossbow I recently got that one. Great video so many great games. Ball jacks on mega drive is a great game. Yes I can see DS getting a lot more expensive I collect so many DS games I got some great titles played so many now I'm loveing it 😊

Vandal hearts 1 and 2 are fantastic games,own both completed both turn based games with square grid references buy them if they are good price, ultimate games are fab,later turning into rare which also are my favourites
ULTIMATE back in the day were a real power house of a company and Rare churn out amazing games still too 😉🍺

The Atari game is probably, Crossbow, a port of the arcade game, from Exidy, I think. £45 for Super Mario 64, I have the game boxed, with manual, in mint condition.

Another banger of a video mate really enjoying as always awesome pickups you got in Croydon today the prices in that Game On shop were a bit overpriced in a way with half of their items they sell in their that Wii U that was boxed was awesome Zelda themed never saw that whilst out and about yet must be rare that Wii U game is a reprinted cover as its not the size of the plastic case really a big rip off if you bought that yeh that's 100 percent true about the E Shop closing down soon in a week or 2 now hope you have a good day OG 👍

Glass rose is probably one to pick up for the price its currently going. It never got a us release, and its one I can imagine has a lot more money in it than its current price. Iv never owned it, but I do have it on hdd (free mcboot), and it plays like a point and click without the pointing and clicking. Its closest equivalent is probably something like shadow of memories, also a great game. The Vandal Hearts games are pretty decent. I owned both back in the day. I do prefer the first game to the second, though very similar in style to ff tactics, only a lot more pixilated blood during the fights

That Zelda Wii U was the one I traded in a few months ago for some import PS3 titles they had for my collection.

Hey Duffy, love the pick ups. I'd love to to go game hunting with a fellow PS3 enthusiast. I am nuts for it right now. If you want an advisory for a potential rare game on the PS3. It's Fritz chess, it may not be mind blowing title. However going through all the major sites, I have only found six in the country.

@@OGDuffy I'm Surrey in the U.K. based and I love passing on my knowledge for the PS3. The only others I've seen on eBay are overseas. I was the same until about six months ago about this specific game. The last one sold in the UK on eBay was £60 and CEX is £22. Also I'm having a beer and cheers to you 🍻 watching your vid. It’s very difficult bud I like yourself want to support my local game shop but that godfather wasn’t even pal, that was an ntsc copy , and was £12 more, I know there region free but you know what us collectors are like and also that copy of persona 4 ultimax was £59.99 in that shop it’s £20 in CeX! Hey you'll never guess what? Popped into that large sally army donations centre earlier today and picked up no games or consoles lol. I did grab a mini baymax figure for the missus (she loves baymax) and a Ben 10 watch for my son. While waiting for the bus I (and another guy) noticed that someone had dumped a bag of wires and electrical goods by the bin outside the bus stop. In I reach and pull out a psp 3000. I think the guy was secretly annoyed I grabbed it first lol. Spares repairs thought I. But I took it home and tested it with my 1000 battery (didn't realise they were compatible) and does it work? You bet you're arse it fires up lol. Admittedly the umd tray is a bit buggered. But even so with a new battery and cover (it was missing both) I can soft mod it up and that brings my sons tally of consoles upto 5 lol

@@OGDuffy there was a handfull of games. There. But there's only so many fifa 08,09,10 etc I can tolerate on my shelf 😂. In honestly I'm not even a fan of the fifa. The best footy game iv played is red card. That doesn't take itself as seriously and has more a sense of fun as a result

Wow… Great question matey, to be honest and biased maybe……. Would be the Nintendo WiiU attainable number of games for a complete set and only gonna go up in price due to the system not selling well.

I had warcraft 2 on ps1 since day one but I sold it few years back for £35 I have got a copy now but cover ain't the same miss my og game and if you like godfather then you should look into buying godfather 2
