I looked up "Five Mystical Songs," and it turns out that the author was a Welsh poet and Anglican priest named George Herbert. While the composer was Ralph Vaughan Williams, an English atheist who settled into a "cheerful agnosticism." It's fascinating to me how the divine influence of God can even touch those who don't profess a belief in him.
