Great info! I do have to add that I prefer polyleaders on multi-density heads because it seems to be a straighter angle from fly to running line when the fly is fishing and less hinge means better hookups in my experience.

Thanks for very helpful videos. Peter, I have recently started trout spey on the Tongariro in New Zealand. I have a 4wt with integrated 4 (325g) Skagit line. I also have a set of Airflo 5ft trout polyleaders. Can I use the 5ft floater for indicator nymphing heavy bombs and eggs for our steelhead? Will it create enough of an anchor? Regards Linton

Why are the 8-foot polyleader variations so hard to find in North America? I only see five- and 10-foot variations. Great job on this topic, Peter!

It all depends on what the distributor determines which products will sell over here. For example, in Britain that could get intermediate Rage heads, but not here. You might considering contacting AirfloUSA to see if they can bring some in. I'm no longer pro staff after the distributorship changed hands, so I have no input.

What about like tinsel what would be the best sinking speed ex float,inter,slow sink etc and how long? or is a taper cone better?

question, i have a problem having too short to attach tippet ring to my polyleader because i cut too much as a beginner, how do i extend the front end of the polyleader? i could lost 3 of them if there is no way to extend the polyleader with a tippet or leader to it. please help. thanks

Use a hair dryer to gently heat about 3" or 4" (7 to 10cm) of the sinking material on the tip of the PolyLeader. That will soften it up enough to allow you to peel it off with your finger nails. That will expose enough of the core to allow you to tie on a ring.
Alternately, if you have enough mono left to tie a Double Surgeons knot, then you could attach a short section of mono and add the ring to that.

What knot do you use to attach the tippet ring to the sink tip?

Any knot you like to use to attach a fly to the tippet, can be used here. I normally use a Uniknot. A clinch knot would work fine as well.
