This peel off base coat lasts me weeks! 4 weeks always minimum (with good prep). There’s a lot of other Korean brands that do similar products but none of them compare to this!
A tip with these types of peel off base coats: you’re supposed to wipe off as much gel as possible on the lip of the bottle and use the brush to almost scrub the gel onto your nail. If you wanna take it off immediately, apply it onto your whole nail, if you wanna wear it for a while, apply the gel like 2mm away from your cuticles and side walls. And use a thin layer!!! I’m not sure if I got this info from the instructions or if it’s from watching other nail tutorials 😂
I need this to work with less fuss. I'm a stage 4 cancer patient, and I get scans with huge magnets - nothing metallic can go in those machines. That means the nails MUST come off when I WANT. These peely base coats are so damn fussy! It's prep, prep, prep, then they fall off. I refuse to spend upwards of $30(US) for a base coat. What would be AWESOME is a magnetic base coat with magnetic full cover tips. I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth getting some magnetic eyeliner to add to my polishes... I wanna make nails that pop on and off when I want. Sorry for the rant, but chemo nails can't be over-filed. I can't prep them any more than I do now. They're paper-thin, and I recently got a BURN from an e-file. There's not much left to prep. There MUST be a simpler solution to feel pretty.
@@Sarappreciates Idk, for me, the jello jello base coat works without any prep, I just push back/remove my cuticles and then use a really good dehydrator. Maybe, I’ll use one of those spongy nail buffers but I usually don’t. But I saw some people saying they have to do a lot of prep so I guess it depends? And I believe just the base is about $20 and any oil works to take them off. But if there was a magnetic base coat, wouldn’t you have to remove that too since nothing metallic can go in the machines? Also, have you heard about Wudu nail rings? I saw them on tiktok a while ago! From what I briefly read, Wudu is a cleansing ritual in Islam but you cant have nails when you do it so with nail rings, you can just put them on and off like regular rings!
@@Jiminie53421 yeah, a magnetic base coat that could be easily removed and reapplied like regular nail lacquer. They do it with eye-lashes, magnetic eyeliner to adhere lashes to your face! Why not the same thing for nails? Then if I have a scan I just wipe away the magnetic coat, leave the nails at home, and replace the base coat after the scan. I've been playing with making magnetic nail charms, which gave me the idea of maybe just magnetic nails? I've seen the Wudu nail rings you mentioned, but I guess... I realize losing my nails altogether may be in my future, so I've been looking at those nail rings like, "someday that's the plan," but now I'm reading more about these rings, and I'm kinda impressed. *Thanks!* I gotta look into these more for securing what I've still got, which is why I started using gel in the first place, some nail tech told me gel nails would help shield my nails, and so far it's improved the condition of my nails! I can't explain it, I thought it would be the opposite, but my naked nails look less damaged since I started. I got a couple of pics on my channel from my nails before. I should add some more recent shots because it's a big difference.
I watch a of Korean nail videos and I’ve noticed they apply the peel off base coat only on the center of each nail so you have a bigger seal to break when you go to take them off! Try leaving a small blank area on the perimeter of your nail and it should work like a charm! Edit: I should have watched the whole video you mention this lol!
in case anyone's wondering: i just ordered my second kit. it works perfectly. ive used it 15 times so far and not a single snag. there's finesse to it, obv. but no nails popping off unprompted and no nails overstaying their welcome. a true product worthy of its hype and price.
I watch Jounail and they use Jello Jello often. They don't apply it over the whole nail, just the center, and then top it with a regular top coat. I'm glad you did this review. I've been wanting to get it but couldn't bring myself to invest without more reviews.
I also watch jounail and other kr nail youtubers and I remember one of the channels recommend just using normal clear coat nail polish/water based nail polish or latex in place of the peel off gel. That is, only applying in the centre of the nail, away from the edges so that your regular base gel adheres to the rest of your nail. I've tried it and it works! I remove it with cuticle oil and try to get an opening between the gel and the nail (just be gentle with it and not force anything)
@@ArtemisDianna so basically you use both the peel off and your regularly used base coat too ? and for me to understand it you pry the nail with cuticle oil before using the acetone ? i’ve been meaning to try the jello jello peel off 😅
@@rikiinexx2151 hey! This is an alternative method if you can't get your hands on the jello jello! You use regular nail polish or latex peel and your gel base coat. Just use the regular nail polish in the centre :)
I've looked into this from a chemistry perspective and have some thoughts. (Note, I have studied undergrad chemistry, but did not complete it, however, I have a bit of knowledge about cosmetic formulation and solvents.) I have seen the Korean nail artists using something called "stripper" to make removal even easier. Basically this stuff is a peel-off nail polish base. Some of them don't use the stripper product, but they don't generally use a primer either. This also helps with the product's ability to peel off (mind you, I've used rubber base gels as a BIAB without primer and they did not peel off, even after two weeks). Being in Australia, it's a bit of an investment to get this set as it'd set me back at least $50AUD, but I figured out DIY solution when I was looking for it. My personal peel off base gel of choice is the Born Pretty one because it's only about $3AUD and it lasts quite well. I have used it in this context, to make removal of my set easy. I have been wanting to avoid acetone when removing them so I can keep the set after without the acetone eating the product (and I did try using just oil to remove it, but that was PAINFUL). I got the idea to mix acetone with oil when I first started watching Korean nail art videos, and saw the product resembled something I already had in my arsenal, the Dashing Diva Magic-Off remover. I looked up the ingredients and found it's basically acetone with oils, but no emulsifier, so you have to shake it before using it to mix the layers. I only had a small sample of this, and I ran out quickly, so my solution was to DIY acetone and oil at a 1:1 ratio, which kind of worked, but the gels were being eaten into and the product wasn't coming off as easily. That was until I looked closer at the ingredients list for One Kill. It's basically compromised of water, the solvents propyl and butyl acetates (found in nail polish/non-acetone remover), and an ester (which is oily in texture, and also acts as an emulsifier to keep the product from separating). I got cheap non-acetone nail polish remover (the kind without additives) and mixed it with sweet almond oil and a bit of isopropyl alcohol to attempt emulsification, but that didn't work, my bad lol. Anyway, you have to shake the stuff, but it does work to get off the Born Pretty peel off gel without damage. The trick is you have to let it sit for at least 5 minutes to get the edges off, and then you add more product, just like with One Kill. The base will eventually melt and you can pry it off with an orange stick and then wipe off the gel residue. If I figure out an easily accessible emulsifier that can keep the formula mixed and stable, I'll post the recipe on my insta/blog. This isn't to discourage anybody from purchasing the product, but if you don't have access to purchase the Jello Jello kit, this method seems to work too!
Thank you for this! I too looked up the ingredients because I wanted it but was afraid that if it wasn’t sold here, there might be a reason. What kind of “non acetone remover” are you using?
@@sarainannarbor Hey! I just bought a generic one from (Australian) Kmart (which is akin to Walmart), so basically anything that's labelled non-acetone nail polish remover. The ingredients you want are ethyl acetate and butyl acetate (water and denatured alcohol). It's up to you if you want to mix it with oil. I actually just bought it to thin out some nail polish (because I don't need a whole 1L bottle of ethyl acetate), and I found out it works to remove peel off base gel, haha!
thanks for the research! I ordered the same born pretty peel off base as I wanted to try that out before I bought the jello jello set from Korea and was wondering how I'd get them off. I was thinking oil but the tip about mixing non acetone (that I already have) with a carrier oil is smart.
@@sarainannarbor BTW, South Korea is really at the forefront of the beauty industry and the west are actually behind. It's likely not distributed outside of Korea because they just don't have the demand. There are smaller stores that carry them and ship them internationally, but unless the brands want to branch out, there's not much we can do. It's also possible that many nail techs/artists just don't know they exist. KBeauty is still quite niche in the west, even though it is becoming more accessible, but it hasn't hit the levels of popularity that would warrant distribution. I've never seen an exclusive nail art retail store in Australia (and it's likely the same in other places in the west), because we just don't have the market. Even the old beauty supply stores don't carry more than a couple of brands of gel products and techs just order directly from the brands anyway. Our Daiso stores don't sell much nail stuff, if at all. I only found some press ons and swatch sticks. We don't have gels, we don't have the vast amount of decals and bling. Just two kinds of nail files and nail clippers, lol. Korean R&D is a whole other level, and the consumer safety regulations remain consistent with western markets, but they have little bits of variations against certain ingredients like UV filters (which is a whole other debacle) and other things that may be considered drugs in other territories (like in Australia, sunscreens are classed as drugs, which brings in advertising laws, and it has impacted my content creation a lot...). Anyhow, TL;DR South Korea is better than all of us when it comes to beauty and innovations. They're also better at waste management & recycling than us.
Hi Emily! I am a cosmetologist and you have reignited my love for nails! Thank you for being my comfort channel during stressful times and teaching me so much about polygel and acrylic! You are the best!💖
I love how invested you were into trying to make these last and you didn't just say the next day when you bathed your dogs "oh well they lasted a day" xXx
So glad you did this video! I love this product. However, any oil can loosen the nail. Putting a regular base coat on top after leaving a gap at the free edge can also help. Mine last as long as I want them to and my natural nails are in great shape. Thanks for another really informative video. I appreciate you! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EmilySusanah Same. That's why I started applying the Jello Jello base 2mm from the free edge and then going over it with a regular base gel all the way to the edge before doing my extension. That seems to work for me and I use cuticle oil at least once day, usually twice. To remove, I apply One Kill on the nail edge and wait 3 min before making a little gap, then I go over it again and wait at least 5 min to completely remove.
This brand lasts me for a couple of weeks - I found that it's the prep coupled with the right products work a treat. I use gel base coat to affix the nails to the peel off base. I also like to use Korean beand Wythsan Stripper in the centre of the nail under the peel off jello jello as it provides a barrier for my nails they get heat spikes and they are inherently weak and thin. They also help with pulling the nails off. Not that I have to tell Emily but to those wanting to try this brand - Never force your nails as the nail plate will come away always wait till they easily come away with the stick - I lost the tip of my nail into the quick. It took me a few tries to get the right products and technique. So pleased you tried this product Emily - thanks for all the work you do with your channel. I love watching your vids xx
Ahhh! I love this base coat 😍 it changed the way I did my nails entirely. I've had them last 4 weeks once but I usually change my nails every 2 weeks anyways. It's amazing! Tip 1: When I prep I do the usual of buffing, dehydrating, and priming. I only apply a thin layer of the peel off and I ensure it doesn't go near my cuticles. I use gelx system so I apply another thin layer of gelx over my nail again but near the cuticle this time. It seals in the peel off until I'm ready to remove it. I also file the edges of my nail tips so they are flush to my nail bed. When it is time to remove I apply a drop of the oil to the nail before I start lifting. If there are any areas that have become exposed this helps with the process. Tip 2: I then use a metal cuticle pusher & use the flat side to pop the seal of the nail. I then just keep applying small drops into the nail & pushing under until it pops off :) Tip 3: if you're having trouble with the nail popping off prematurely & you do all of this, pay attention to how much liquid you are coming into contact with. I do pottery so if I don't have a good seal on the peel off base coat it'll start peeling off
@@operachef1 no need for soaking with acetone! you need to get the gel remover by jellojello, it's like an oily texture and it usually comes with the jellojello base gel. I usually have some lifting around the end of week 2 or 3, but if I don't I get a cuticle pusher and use the flat side to separate a small corner from my natural nail. I then just use the remover in that lifted area, let it sit, try and lifting it again, and then adding more if it still hasn't come off. I'll repeat this until I pop off my gelx nails. Hope this helps :)
Omg wait I absolutely LOVE this base coat!!! And I love Korean peel off base coats in general because I feel like they work so much better! I think Jello Jello was one of the first or at least the most popular brand of this type of peel off base coat but a lot of Korean brands have very comparable peel off base coats like this now! BTW, they work with any type of oil!!
hi Emily! My sister is a nail tech and I remember you mentioned some endocrinological issues in a video a while ago. Apparently, nails last shorter time on people with hormonal imbalances! It’s due to something hormonal which makes them not stick to the nail plate as well. I have this problem , no matter how good my prep is my nails always come off fast 😢
I don’t know anything about hormones but I do know that some people have greasier nails than others, so people with greasier nails get their polish/acrylic/other nail product to not last as long.
You need Zoya Anchor basecoat, that Zoya Color Lock system is very adhesive, hard to get off! Zoya Armor is not very shiny but a tough top coat. Or try Vibrant Vinyls green basecoat, that lasts ages! Just need a basecoat that won't chip or shrinks after applying Zoya Fast Dry quick dry drops! Zoya Fast Drops dry polish hard within 4 minutes, brilliantly done, bought the Zoya refill! Trial and error! UK 🇬🇧💅😻🔮
For folks in the US, Zillabeau just started carrying Jello Jello. I tried the peel off and it worked ok. I have tried about a dozen different peel offs and they never last more than a few day, but it’s probably just my nail chemistry.
@@mmangam I did. I just checked out their sale and boy, I’m spoiled by Amazon prices. I know those gels are better quality, but man! Are they 10X better?
@@jewdy8915 - I haven’t purchased nail products off Amazon so I don’t know how they compare. I did buy some typical brands from Sally’s and found the Japanese and Korean brands to be a better quality.
@@mmangam I just got two five pan pallets of solid gel polish from the brand Gaoy for $15 on Amazon. One is jelly nudes and the other is solid rainbow. Both with really nice brushes and the colors are individual little compacts that pop out of the pallet. It’s pretty hard to pay $10-$15 for one bottle solid in a collection of 5-6 bottles after that.
This video seems like it mustve been so stressful to film even before the lost footage incident, thank you for sticking with it! Also thanks for the bonus magnet tips!
I thought the same thing!! Absolutely beautiful with make up of course but OMG this was the first time I saw you au natural and oh my word I totally agree you are absolutely stunning gorgeous with out make up! I was speechless with awe!❤
I've been using this peel off for about a year after I first saw JOUNAIL use it in her videos, and I have learned a few tricks : - Applying it in the center of the nail mostly, avoiding the near-cuticle area, will make it last longer without being a pain to take off (the cuticle area always being the area to lift first in my case), - A lot of the oil can be used or wasted, so I always buy 2 bottles of the "One kill gel remover" for 1 peel off base gel, or else I find myself with no oil left when I need it.
I’ve used this peel off base coat on my nails and was having similar issues. After a couple of times my nails were getting thin and started hurting from constant prep. What I noticed is the remover soaks off soft gel, so I tried using hard get as a base to protect my natural nails and then apply the peel off base on top of the hard gel. It worked a little bit better and I think it also stayed on for longer. I use super thin coats (as thin as I can get them to be). ☺️❤️
Omg I’m early- I have to take my chance to tell you how much I love your videos!! Your whole channel literally saved me during my pregnancy earlier this year 😅 my daughter is now 8 months but seriously the past year 1/2 your channel has made me so comfortable and relaxed during the hardest times. I love your personality and creativity, you’re my comfort person and favorite UA-camr. Please never stop making videos! I’ve already seen and rewatched every video you’ve ever made at least 3 times 😂 sending you & David & your doggos love & peace 🤍 hope you have an amazing holiday season & new year 🥲🥰
I like the strip method for this peel off! Leaving 1cm/2cm bare border around the cuticle and sides of the nail makes it last way longer and still pops off easily with the One Kill! ❤
It was so nice seeing you mention @jounail I follow and watch her channel all the time and she's like the PEEL OFF GURU lol Love that you're trying this and I may try this method soon! 💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿
I feel like I have to say this lol I actually saw this product for the first time earlier today, as I ran across a Korean influencer’s UA-cam (of course I wish I could remember her name 🙃), anywho, she used the remover on the set she was removing, and the nails legit just popped right off. I was absolutely astonished at how easy it worked!! Thought you might enjoy that tidbit of info. Can’t wait to see how your experiment with it works! As always, thanks for the content, and hope you all have a happy holiday!! PS: meant to tell you that she literally put the remover on like cuticle oil as well.
i wear extra long nail extensions and use peel off base coats successfully for 1-2 weeks. i change them more often than most. but i think the key for me are the quality of the base coats i use. inity peel off base coat available on tat-canada f-gel (from the nail) peel off base (which is actually called “sticker base coat”) it’s in a gray to white ombré bottle an available on zillabeau diami peel off base coat available on haenails diami one is actually really short wearing. but even with the one kill remover (which i ordered like 3 of them on ebay by itself) the inity and the fgel one can be difficult to remove. SOOO i apply the diami POBC like a nail stripper aka not touching any of the edges of the nail leaving my largest gap between the base coat and the cuticle. you want to see dry nail like 1-2mm surrounding the base coat in the center. then i apply the stronger peel off base coats and i’ve had much easier removal processes since then ALSO THE ONE THING THAT EVERYONE WHO USES **JELLO JELLO ONE KILL REMOVER** SHOULD KNOW. THE ORANGE WOOD STICK SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE ONLY TOOL YOU PUSH UNDER YOUR NAIL TO CREATE SEPARATION. not metal tools or any other cuticle pusher. orange wood stick is a necessity with this gel remover i actually learned the hard way thru excessive nail damage just how essential the orange wood stick is for successful, pain free and damage free extension removal!!
peel off base coat is a saver. Im using it for years now, it keeps me for 4 weeks without peeling or any damages. Easy to remove without using any acetones so saves a lot of time.
I especially like this video simply for the explanation of all the different types of manicures and the products involved and how they work and get applied.
From what I’ve seen Korean nail UA-camrs do, they don’t apply the base coat around their edges/ cuticle area to make it last which makes sense since when our nails lift, they start lifting from the cuticle area. They will also go over with a regular gel base coat that they will apply all over before going in with the extensions
Yeah the young nails primer has Hema in it. For those of you that have an allergy reaction avoid that. Light elegance, doesn't have Hema. And or formaldehyde. Fingers crossed I'm going to give it a try tonight. I'm so excited. It's been 6 months since I've had my nails on. My fingers been naked. Catching a chill. Without looking pretty. Winter..
Happy Thanksgiving from New Mexico! Glad to see you this fine day! I hope you, hubby, and doggos are all very well! And that you all enjoy your week ❤️❤️❤️
Hey girl! So I watch Jounail religiously lol and a few other korean nail creators and one thing they do different is they leave a very small space between the cuticle area and the full cover tip, then they go back in with a different thicker regular base coat and fill in the gap and lightly bring it down the nail. So they don't have to file the "step" between the tip and natural nail bed, and that layer of base coat as small as it is actually bonds to the jello jello base coat and gives it better adhesion. That may work better for you if you want them to last, that's what I've gathered from watching them lol
I was so happy to have you come back and not say "bad news". LOL I want this to work so bad because i am like you, I change my nails like weekly. redo one or two in between is okay with me. THANK YOU!
What i always do is leave a 2mm rim around the nail and only put the peel off base coat in the middle of my nail and then i add base gel and onto the base gel i put whatever i wanted to have, it mostly lasts me 1-2 weeks :)
I've always wanted to try this stuff for the longest time. The Korean nail girlies love it and it always looks like such a great product. I wish it was easier to get.
Thank you for listing my store 🥰 This has been a game changer for me doing my nails weekly and I'm glad that other DIYers in the US can try it without having to pay tons for shipping from Korea 💖
I buy this from beauty box korea and I really like it. I work with cats almost full time so I use my hands a LOT. If I have extensions on then I do start popping them off after a week which is fine since I get bored of my nail art quick. If I have it in my natural nail no extension it lasts basically as long as I want it to. Cuticle prep is key also use a super thin layer. For removal definitely don't rush it and keep dropping in more remover each time you separate more and more of the gel from the nail bed. I get no damage that way.
Here's me, just what I needed ❤️ after getting my surgery cancelled last min. 💔☹️ I got my hopes up to much. I hope you and your family are good, love this set ❣️ tfs Blessings from across the pond, Scotland. 🙏🏴💓
i love how yall are bring back the use of the airbrush machine. in the 1990's that was one of the main ways of designing nails. Now i gotta dig up my airbrush machine out of storage lol
Emily what u can do with polygel nails is apply a peal off bask coat first then do the poly gel on that . Then your able to peal them off but add glue to the nail an stick them back on . So then u could soak them off. Instead of having to file them off. It's what I do. An when I want them to stay on for a week I do just put peal off base coat in the middle a small strip.
Most of us don't buy this stuff just to play. We want it to work the first or second time. I'm gonna wait to buy this until a "dupe" hits the US market. Right now if I time the sales right, I can get multiple colors with a lamp for $25-$30(USD), which means this price is too high just for a base coat that's so fussy. That said - I LOVE THE NAILS AT THE END! I love that you added a freebie cat-eye tutorial! *THANK YOU!!!* 💕
It was fussy on her but it’s never been that way for me! It has great lasting power and definitely lasts 2ish weeks up until when I want to remove it. The price is a bit high because it’s a high quality item and ships from Korea. IF you can try it I definitely would.
I just got some of this! But I’ve been using koko and Claire peel base coat and it works great! You soak your nails in hot water and they peel off. I get 2 weeks out of them before I take them off.
Yayyy!!! Good afternoon beautiful!!! I always get so excited to see a new video from you! Love you Emily!!! Keep up the amazing nails sets! Always giving me some Inspiration!! ❤️🔥😍😘
I just use regular brush-on nail glue for press-ons, and it lasts me about a week even though I take a hot bath every night. If I want them off sooner, I alternate soaking in hot water and ice water, use cuticle oil, and pry them up from the side with my pointy tweezers. Probably more damaging to the nail than this, but it does last well for me.
I have used the one kill remover and it works great i just keep using the oil on nails till I’m able to remove them with cuticle stick it works on acrylic, poly gel, and full tips I love it
I took want my gel tips i design to be glued on for 1 week. Then i in a perfect world would take off and do another set. I have been attaching my tips with acrylic so they last the full week for me. I so appreciate your in-depth video on this. I am gonna give it a try after watching this. Thanks, too, for including the link!!! New subscriber!
I love this in depth video. I was intrigued every second! I always feel like there’s some miss information when watching videos on a new product. And never an understanding of the what the factors are. Thank you so much for this!
Cooking dinner and gonna do my nails afterwards so ur video is right on time. Ur content is awesome! I do my own nails as well and Im always buying new products u come across some amazing products!!!
Painted my nails in a kuromi/my melody theme with some silver holo stickers so really vibed with the set lol thanks for all the videos, this one was very informative
Great video, thanks for all of the updates! I think I'm going to try this peel off base, I'd like to try what happens when I'm adding a regular base gel first, prep that as usual as well, then apply the peel off base.
Suzie from Nail Career Education ALSO gives the very important tip for press ons/ full cover nails - lightly file/ nail drill sand the INSIDES of the press on as well. That hint of roughness creates little pockets of air to help the product fill those in and create better adhesion! I can tell you - it WORKS like a charm. My press on's (I can't wear polygel or acrylic directly on my skin/ nails anymore (allergies, wahhh!) last for WEEKS! Just with glue! Thank you for the great vid, I know I can't wear this directly on MY nails, but this was neat to watch! Take care, and stay safe!
I use this peel off base coat and I love it. Minimal damage to my natural nails and also they last me 2-3 weeks. My hands can be a bit dry so I think that helps them last.
I already watched this when you first posted, but I’m back again - both because I’m thinking about trying this too, and because I just genuinely enjoy watching all your videos 😂 I really appreciate how thorough you for this one!! ❤
I use this for my full cover tips and they’ve always lasted me 1.5+ weeks and that’s only because I remove them myself! And I have to use a bit of oil and wrestle with the fake nail to successfully remove it lol. I highly recommend the product for anyone looking to try this
I'm using the Jello Jello peel off base coat right now on one hand and my other hand, a cheap brand from Amazon (I don't know the name off the top of my head). It's been 3 weeks now and it's lasting really well! I have to prep really really well for it to stay. Will update how the removal process is like soon (planning on changing my nails tomorrow night).
With regular air dry peel off base coats, they last only like a day or less but with like other peel off gel base coats, they won’t peel off at all 😭 That’s why I love those Korean peel off base coats that come off with oil, those are the only ones that work for me 😅
Hey Emily :) I saw someone comment this on another video. But I wanted to tell you that you are honestly my comfort person! When I see a video from you pop up in my feed I’m genuinely so happy. The best trick for the easiest clean up when airbrushing is to wear a latex glove and cut a very small hole over where your nails would be. Make sure to get a smaller size glove than normal so it's snug and doesn't leave any gaps and it'll help with the overspray.

@@Sarappreciatesthe magnetic nails!!! what an awesome idea!!!
Omg yeah they only applied on just the center. I just realized that once I saw u comment. Also it works best on gel
in case anyone's wondering: i just ordered my second kit. it works perfectly. ive used it 15 times so far and not a single snag. there's finesse to it, obv. but no nails popping off unprompted and no nails overstaying their welcome. a true product worthy of its hype and price.
Same i watch her too.
@@ArtemisDianna thank you sm !
I've looked into this from a chemistry perspective and have some thoughts. (Note, I have studied undergrad chemistry, but did not complete it, however, I have a bit of knowledge about cosmetic formulation and solvents.)
I have seen the Korean nail artists using something called "stripper" to make removal even easier.
Wow! Thank you for this info! I understand this so much more now!!
thanks for the research!
All the Korean nail artists/ enthusiasts I follow LIVE by this peel off gel. It’s extremely popular in Korea. That brand itself is really popular
So glad you did this video! I love this product. However, any oil can loosen the nail. Putting a regular base coat on top after leaving a gap at the free edge can also help. Mine last as long as I want them to and my natural nails are in great shape. Thanks for another really informative video. I appreciate you! ❤️❤️❤️
I thought that ish was oil based. It's so easy to get caught up in hype or trend. Like blossom gel. Ahhhh ya mean top coat😆😆😆
I feel like that’s hard then cause I use a lot of cuticle oil 🥲
I then just keep applying small drops into the nail & pushing under until it pops off :)
Tip 3: if you're having trouble with the nail popping off prematurely & you do all of this, pay attention to how much liquid you are coming into contact with. I do pottery so if I don't have a good seal on the peel off base coat it'll start peeling off
Question, how do you remove the JelloJello base afterward? Do you need to soak like regular gel? Thanks!
@@embemrose Yes, I ordered the set so we'll see how it goes!
UK 🇬🇧💅😻🔮
I hope you understand how much we all appreciate your thurough reviews. Thank you for a realistic and incredibly helpful wear test ♥
Ive known about the jello jello brand for a while and I’ve wanted to try it for so long. It’s cool seeing a non korean nail channel i enjoy try this
For folks in the US, Zillabeau just started carrying Jello Jello. I tried the peel off and it worked ok. I have tried about a dozen different peel offs and they never last more than a few day, but it’s probably just my nail chemistry.
The One Kill is sold out! Boo!
@Jewdy - Definitely select Notify Me When Available. Zillabeau sells out fast but they will email you when it gets restocked.

Your slight lisp is cute. 👍🏻
I thought the same thing!! Absolutely beautiful with make up of course but OMG this was the first time I saw you au natural and oh my word I totally agree you are absolutely stunning gorgeous with out make up! I was speechless with awe!❤
I've been using this peel off for about a year after I first saw JOUNAIL use it in her videos, and I have learned a few tricks :
- Applying it in the center of the nail mostly, avoiding the near-cuticle area, will make it last longer without being a pain to take off (the cuticle area always being the area to lift first in my case),
- A lot of the oil can be used or wasted, so I always buy 2 bottles of the "One kill gel remover" for 1 peel off base gel, or else I find myself with no oil left when I need it.
I loved this video! Especially since it was a lil longer! I’m soooo here for longer Emily videos!! Watching u is so comforting

Love your videos I get so much imputation from them and this is how I started doing my own nails 🥰😊
PS: meant to tell you that she literally put the remover on like cuticle oil as well.
i wear extra long nail extensions and use peel off base coats successfully for 1-2 weeks. i change them more often than most. but i think the key for me are the quality of the base coats i use.
inity peel off base coat available on tat-canada
f-gel (from the nail) peel off base (which is actually called “sticker base coat”) it’s in a gray to white ombré bottle an available on zillabeau
diami peel off base coat available on haenails
diami one is actually really short wearing. but even with the one kill remover (which i ordered like 3 of them on ebay by itself) the inity and the fgel one can be difficult to remove.
SOOO i apply the diami POBC like a nail stripper aka not touching any of the edges of the nail leaving my largest gap between the base coat and the cuticle. you want to see dry nail like 1-2mm surrounding the base coat in the center. then i apply the stronger peel off base coats and i’ve had much easier removal processes since then
ALSO THE ONE THING THAT EVERYONE WHO USES **JELLO JELLO ONE KILL REMOVER** SHOULD KNOW. THE ORANGE WOOD STICK SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE ONLY TOOL YOU PUSH UNDER YOUR NAIL TO CREATE SEPARATION. not metal tools or any other cuticle pusher. orange wood stick is a necessity with this gel remover
i actually learned the hard way thru excessive nail damage just how essential the orange wood stick is for successful, pain free and damage free extension removal!!
peel off base coat is a saver. Im using it for years now, it keeps me for 4 weeks without peeling or any damages. Easy to remove without using any acetones so saves a lot of time.
I especially like this video simply for the explanation of all the different types of manicures and the products involved and how they work and get applied.
This looks so cool! I usually redo my nails every week because one eventually lifts or pops off.
From what I’ve seen Korean nail UA-camrs do, they don’t apply the base coat around their edges/ cuticle area to make it last which makes sense since when our nails lift, they start lifting from the cuticle area. They will also go over with a regular gel base coat that they will apply all over before going in with the extensions
ummm… okayy but GORGGGGG in the natural lighting!! ms queen it’s giving 💅🏻👑
Yeah the young nails primer has Hema in it. For those of you that have an allergy reaction avoid that. Light elegance, doesn't have Hema. And or formaldehyde. @@zeldakixass Hi fellow NMexican 🥰
THANK YOU!
I’ve been waiting for someone to review this product. The Korean mail channels who use this have gorgeous natural nails under their enhancements.

@@jimin7997 thank you for shopping with me! 🥰
I super appreciate how thorough you were with this product and video. I just got it and I want to give it the best shot it has.

i love how yall are bring back the use of the airbrush machine. in the 1990's that was one of the main ways of designing nails.
@@eclipse8482 Thanks! I'll keep it in mind :)
I just got some of this! But I’ve been using koko and Claire peel base coat and it works great! You soak your nails in hot water and they peel off. I get 2 weeks out of them before I take them off.

With regular air dry peel off base coats, they last only like a day or less but with like other peel off gel base coats, they won’t peel off at all 😭 That’s why I love those Korean peel off base coats that come off with oil, those are the only ones that work for me 😅
Emily, the makeup is GIVINGGG
Mad respect for doing such a beautiful job on the nail art on your opposite hand holy shit
I was literally just ordering this when your video popped up lol! I can't wait to use it! Thank you so much for the review!
This black and rose set is sooo cooool🖤💗
Hey Emily :) I saw someone comment this on another video. But I wanted to tell you that you are honestly my comfort person! When I see a video from you pop up in my feed I’m genuinely so happy. I don’t know how to explain it but I just love watching your videos and it feels like a big hug when I do 🥰 so thank you for being you 💕
Thank you 🥺💓
I’ve been wanting to try this! Thanks for reviewing it! I found one site that sells Korean nail supplies and it’s like a kid in a candy store. They have a great price range too from affordable to expensive.
That 2nd set with the cats eye...wow!!!🥰
Love love love these designs! The first one was SO cute!
Hey girly do you plan on doing vlogs or hair transformations in the future? i love watching those videos of yours as well, you're very relatable and a relaxing human 💞
First
Edit: Love your videos btw ❤️✨
Love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The best trick for the easiest clean up when airbrushing is to wear a latex glove and cut a very small hole over where your nails would be. Make sure to get a smaller size glove than normal so it's snug and doesn't leave any gaps and it'll help with the overspray.
Yo you look so pretty without all that makeup 😮❤
