One of my favourite horses of all time. Miss these says in the 90s.thanks for the upload.
C4 and Highflier coverage brilliant. ITV a disaster.
What a field class by Norman williamson after rideing Alderbrook for champion hurdle success on the tuesday 2days earlier...
6:20 Master Oats to the outside was awesome!
hi great races thank you for uploading them all :-)
backed dubacilla here, fantastic mare she was.
Channel 4 broadcast this race for the first time and it was a demolition by Master Oats.
Barton bank was my favourite horse in the 90s but he made a mistake every time he ran you were never safe until he was over the last
Fell at the last in the K.George once I think. I backed it!
@@Sunburst75 so did I Adrian Maguire was the jockey blamed himself for the fall.
Merry Gale, it would help if you didn't eat the starting tape.
Brilliant mate, any more master oats vids
Master oats great horse on soft ground he had no equal
Master oats never got the credit he deserved in what was a top class field.
Dubacilla must have had issues on the first circuit. She didn't just come from another parish, but another continent. What a fantastic mare...
Go on show the ‘King ‘ in 2005.
Beech Road won the Champion Hurdle six years earlier.
Notice they jump the final fence on the Old Course before going out onto the new course out into the country
They had to change because of the weather which is why they only jump once fence in the home straight as they had to use the Old Course (which of course now has two fences in the home straight).
Nice horse
The is only one jodami
have had many drinks with the person who owned Master Oats, he said would have won the national, if it had been soft/heavy ground,,
he had is chance in 94 with heavy ground when favorite for the national but crashed out at the 13th
@@keithallen2979 he would of that national I backed just so
As has been highlighted elsewhere Norman Williamson's decision to switch Master Oats to the outside after his mistake at the first on the second circuit won him the race.
Barton Bank WOW what a fall!! He would have gone close if he stayed up. A very classy horse
A decent horse came second two years later
@@JK-ln8zv He certainly was but the 60s 70s 80s were a more Momentous era .1973 Pendil and The Dikler also 1983 The Dickenson first 5 home at 100- 1 , I wasn't on sadly. Kind regards Glynn n greetings from Stourbridge West Midlands UK 🤝
Again, if Barton Bank could jump it may well of won a Gold Cup.
Backed dubicilla at 40-1
