I thought Mexico had a roster that could be scrappy and sneak up on opponents, and their guys delivered on a greater scale than expected! Attending their elimination game against Puerto Rico was incredible as well! Sat in a section with mostly Mexico fans and was bumping fists with several of them after they won!
The final would have been AWESOME! Can’t wait for the next WBC!
I said it months ago Mexico could make a run. I saw a team full of mlb players decent-good. Not all superstars but definitely some talent there and the best pitching staff participating in the tournament.. I know it’s a lot of unknown but if Gallegos gets those last 3 outs I’m pretty sure they dominate the US again. They had more heart

I feel the same way as you, I'm 100% certain that, had they been able to hold off the Japanese offense in the 9th, they would've beaten the US in the final because I believe they would've carried the adrenaline from beating the best nation in the world against a team they already defeated. However, it doesn't hurt that they lost because it took a wild comeback from the best team to eliminate them. They took Japan to the absolute extreme and I couldn't be more proud than that. This team made a whole nation dream and make us realize that we are capable of achievement greatness, and for that I'll be eternally grateful.

Man Mexico lost in extras to Colombia in their sloppiest game and lost to Japan by walk-off needing 3 more outs to go to finals .. every single game they either won or was so close to winning no matter who they played. They did not get dominated any game.. kinda crazy to think about . This team was a lot of fun kinda wish we didn’t have to wait another 3 years
