Been wanting a drone for a very long time and have always watched UA-cam videos on every new release that comes out contemplating buying. Finally bought a Mavic 3. Have to say I’m happy so far and because i don’t use it to earn money or have a UA-cam channel I am ok to wait for January for the updates. It’s not that far away from now. Thanks for this video it was really educational. Top work!! Also I ordered the new controller so I don’t have to stuff around with my phone as much and have more control with extra buttons and scroll wheel etc. It doesn’t worry me that it isn’t backwards compatible because I don’t own any older drones.
I'm sure you know by now that the major update has already been released. Many start with a cheap drone and learn bad habits. I started with the Mavic Pro Platinum and it was much easier to learn with, and the Mavic 3 with its better obstacle avoidance should be even easier.
@@vonheise yes I did get that update and I’m sure there will be many more that just make it better. So far it’s been very easy to fly. I just received my RC pro so will try and fly with that in the next few days.

Great video, first I have seen with this much detail, especially on the flight screen. I will watch for more on the Mavic 3 as there is so much to remember and more updates will be coming. I added the RC Pro and it is hard to tap on the small screen to see details.

I capture drone vision for Australia's largest news brands on a weekly basis and I use "we-transfer" to send in my vision. Is this the best way to send my vision into the newsrooms and are you aware of any alternative approaches? Also, should I film at 4K/30fps or 5.1K/24fps? Thank you again!
This is great to hear Brooklyn. Thank you for sharing this with me! I don’t have any knowledge/experience with we-transfer or other alternatives. My projects get uploaded to Google Drive and then my editor downloads the files. I would recommend 4K but going up to 60fps so that you have smoother footage and more options to tweak the speed/presentation of the video.

Thanks for the kind words 😁 I keep my phone connected to the controller and drone, I then download photos/videos from within the DJI Fly app. You can’t do much about the internet connection if you don’t have the option to hotspot or connect to wi-fi.

Great Video and with that much useful info its one of the most helpful on You Tube. My Mavic 3 Cine has a warning Calibrate RC and after following instructions it makes no difference so hope its not the 1st of many problems. Only a week old.

It is good to calibrate your compass but I’ve never had to calibrate my remote controller. Is your drone flying fine? I do have a drone course packed with insights, resources and guidance. Hmmm, good question 🤔 You could try to restore to factory settings, certain settings have the option to reset to default. You’ll have to look through the settings.

Color options aren’t available in all modes. Try changing to the video mode and trying different frame rates/resolutions. It will pop up if it’s available in that mode.

Hello! I'm so used to half pressing the shutter or tapping the screen to make sure I'm in focus before I press record on the Mavic 2 pro. Can I still do this on the Mavic 3? If not, what's the best way to check I'll be in focus? Don't really want to use manual focus though.
The Mavic 3 footage is always in focus. It is using infinite focus to ensure that shots are always in focus. You can half press still but it is unnecessary.
I was re-reading the Air 2S manual and it states AirSense is not available while using either Active Track or filming 4K 30fps. I'll look up the Mavic 3 PDF manual (updated to 31st May 2022 apparently). No mention of any restrictions on the Mavic 3. It's always worth reading the manuals. They are not that intimidating and it's better to know the various limitations and 'quirks' of the drone. Have DJI provided a normal Smart RTH option, as well as the Advanced RTH? I'd rather manually fly my drone back to the home point than trust an automated process (without a specified altitude).
Great to know. I always prefer to manually return to home and land. The Mavic 3 offers an advanced RTH but again, I prefer the manual approach. I did try the advance RTH and it is decent but still feels sketchy.
Nice tips from pro. Tips No.7 is useless. When the drone falls, the battery is immediately disconnected from the drone. , which means that the drone will never contact the controller, which means that it is impossible to find it.
I learnd lesson from the hardest way. Two days ago, I had my weekly routine to filming one big area in which many building are growing. My drone ,M2P was about 50m high AGL, but suddenly to many birds attacked him. The last message was 'upward obstacle detected' than black screen and he started to falling. Of course, battery removed by itself when he slamed to the ground. After walking to the crash site, I found battery 15m from drone. After all, I have to change only 2 back lags with their motors.

Does anyone know if the Mavic 3 sinks instantly or if it sinks slowly? I crashed mine in the lake yesterday and know the gps coordinates but it will help the diver if he knows how long it takes the drone to sink. 🤦♂️ It was completely avoidable too. Uggggg!!!
@@DansTubeTV Great news! I meet the divers yesterday morning and going off the last GPS location and having heard it sinks like a rock the diver was able to find the drone in about 14 minutes. I was amazed that after 5 days it was still there! I got a lot of information from several sources, the divers did it for the experience and a local stranger even lent her pontoon boat to me! 🤷♂️ I’m blessed and grateful to everyone! 😊

Camera gimbal doesn't rotate horizontally for a $3-5,000 drone. No mechanical shutter for a professional drone. Cheap butt controller with no zoom wheel for pro. No mechanical zoom for a pro. I bought the Cine ver, non removable SSD when transferring 2 minutes ProRes it took me 3 hrs! Blurry m43 camera probably because of the tiny cheap glass. No Go fly app can't even do full ease manual shooting. Obstacle avoidance glitch.

The hate is coming from it releasing without all of the promised features. Once everything is released then the hate should die down.

Silly question perhaps but still a question. At 17:28, I can only see Normal color profile, there is no D-Log option. What am I missing there?
Color options aren’t available in all modes. Try changing to the video mode and trying different frame rates/resolutions. It will pop up if it’s available in that mode.

I can't seem to change the ISO when using DLog shooting video,. There's only 2 options-400 or 800. Why is this? I want to use 100.
It might be a limitation of that shooting mode or an oversight from DJI. That is weird 🤔

If you crash into a tree and it falls to the ground, you might still have a signal 📶 The battery might not fall out, then you can use Find My Drone.
