I hope this means Fender have invested in strong future updates of Firmware etc and really immerse themselves fully into the modeller world. I think a Helix 2.0 with Profiling etc would sway me as I think Line 6 have been very good to us regarding the richness of updates. Great playing and dedication as always Leo, well done !
Hi, thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the playing!!! Yes, there is a lot of space for improvements with FW upgrades...like new amps, new cabs, etc. I do agree...Line 6 is doing a great job in upgrading theyr unit via FW...I was impressed by the FW 3.5 Thank you!
My choise would be based first of all based on tone. QC seems a bit better, after features like profiling. QC wins again. Last of all, I would like a smaller size because I would like to use it with to external pedal I have. Which means QC again. The things that the Tonemaster does better I don't care that much about. And the Tonemaster doesn't have enough high gain models. Well yet...
Leo, your comparisons are so good. Using real amps that you live mic’d and then shot your own IRs from makes all the difference. Also, using short clips with the real amp in between makes it much easier to hear any differences. Great job and thanks for giving us these helpful reviews!
This is, hands down, the finest review of these two great processors. And, it is great to see someone actually purchasing both for the review, instead of relying on the company to send a free sample for "review" (in other words, compensation in exchange for a good review). Your independence brings so much more gravity to your work and findings. Great stuff!!
For reference, I use an HX Stomp with a ToneX. I think the QC sounded better, looks better, and would fit a pedalboard more easily. The Fender has a lot going for it, including the user interface, but one big concern I have is firmware / app updates. Fender abandoned the Mustang platform from what I understand. Are they fully committed to support the Tone Master platform ith frequent updates like Line does on the Stomp/Helix/etc.? What are their plans for enhancing the current model through firmware updates? Will they bring a lot more amps, and improve the quality of the ones already there? The QC has an effectively unlimited set of amps to choose from (because captures can be added, commercial, or your own). I think Fender made a mistake by pricing the TMP at this level. Their first modeler/multifx unit should have been more like $800. Only time will tell if they mature this product fully.
At 31:31 you say that you wanted to compare more overdriven models available in both units as well as real amp. What about the EVH5150 down on the floor to your right, I've heard it's somewhat overdriven?
The problem is that the TMP has the stealth version, and I have the normal one....so I guess that there are some differences....I will give it a try in future videos....even if I'm not 100% sure it is gonna be an "apple to apple" comparison
Thank you so much for such an amazing compliment!!! When you like my music...I'm super happy!!! If you like this song, maybe you may want to check out my EP here: ua-cam.com/video/rORYU3-v4t4/v-deo.html Thank you!!!
Hi, I will thing about it...these videos require a lot of work and re-doing something I have already done is not so "attractive"....but I will think about it. Thank you for your suggestion!
Agree 100% with your 2 cents. QC desktop editor is out and it's fantastic. QC tones and ease if use make it a winner. However, all these units sound really good and you can't go wrong with any modeler or real amp for great tone today.
Thanks for the great review. I made a very similar comparison and despite I really wanted to like the Fender device (as it is very convenient to use), the sound quality of other than Fender amps is lacking vs the Quad Cortex. When it comes to Fender amps, you can get the same results with the QC or FM3 using the same IR. Also the overdrive section in the Fender device was not really convincing as being more "digital" sounding when used with the amp sims. I will send my Fender device back :-(
You are welcome and I'm happy that you like the video!! I'm also happy that you have got the same results I have obtained...very interesting...thank you for sharing!
The Tone Master is a lot bigger than I realized. I have a Helix, Axe-Fx III and a Quad Cortex. I think they all sound different and love them all for what they do. I don't see at this point I would need to add the Tone Master to my collection. With the addition of the desktop editor for the Quad Cortex and also a firmware update to it since yesterday it's what most people wanted and Neural has delivered even though it took a lot longer than their customers had hope but so far it has worked flawlessly.
Hi, yes, I have also realised how big the TMP is...just after comparing it to the QC...I expected the TMP to be smaller, actually. Thank you also for sharing your opinions and your findings!
Ciao Leo, the possibility to create profiles is relevant for people who have the amps and cabs. The only amp I could profile is my Blackstar fly 3 or the Roland AC Mobile. Most of us are the so called "Bedroom guitarists". We don´t own a plexi or a soldano or a deluxe reverb, not we do have the space to have one of those beasts at home. I live in a flat in a condo where if I raise the volume of the TV I have my neighbour banging on the door. Not to mention that 1 of those amps cost like the Quad Cortex or the Tone Master. I wonder if you would run a survey how many subscribers of your channel are like me. A friend of mine who runs a music shop told me that 80% of his customers are "bedroom guitarists". They play at home for themself and they don´t have a band or perform live.
Man, I completely agree with that. I've been playing the guitar for 14 years. At one point, I owned a Fender Twin Reverb, but I eventually sold it. Living in NY, it's challenging to keep giant amps and cabs, and it's not just about the money - it's also about the limited space we have here. That's why I've always relied on modelers. So, I can't really say how a real amp sounds or feels. I listen to the music and then tweak the sound to get it as close to the original song as possible. For those of us who gig frequently and cover songs a lot, having a unit that sounds great and is easy to use on stage is crucial.
Hi, Enrico, thank you for sharing! Let me add, that even if you don't have amps to profile, you can take advantage of the profiling feature of a machine. In fact, many professionals make profiles of their amps, and you can find very good profiles, even of boutique amps, at a small price...I think many "barroom guitarist" take advantage of this feature...for instance available in the ToneX or for the Kemper....If you take a look at NAM, you can notice that it has now a very big library of very good sounding profiles...and many of them are totally free. This is thanks to the profiling option. Thank you...interesting discussion.
@@LeoGibsonGtrI was about to say that… I think the “external” application of profiling, is even more valuable than just capturing your own tone - especially for bedroom guitarists. It gives you access to amps you might only dream about playing for either nothing, or a small price
I think you bring up a great point about the ToneMaster being young. A really interesting project would be to compare ToneMaster with QC/Helix/etc. with their initial release firmware. Personally, profiling isn't a feature I care that much about since that's why I buy those units is for others to do that work, lol. But, I also don't think every unit needs that, because at that point, they're all becoming too much the same. They all sound great now, so I don't think you can really go wrong with anything these days.
i felt the tone master mor like a FAT Tones no dark, at all couse the tone master have a lot of eq . SO quadcortex more posibilities at all.... BUT i prefer very FAT TONES of tone master pro, great reviews tks leo you are excelet
Great review! I am surprised no company has offered a power section for powering external pedals as that seem like a must have. The last unit that wowed me was the TC Electronics G System because is was far ahead of it's time. I think AI is going to be playing a larger role as that is the next evolution in processors.
Thank you, I'm happy that you like the review! That's a good point...outlets for external pedals would be nice and useful! Yes, AI profiling is already a great option...NAM docet. Thank you!
Actually, your opinion is pretty important. I think Fender has a great product there, but it is 2 years behind Quad Cortex and it is anyone's guess when they will catch or surpass the competition. I don't personally need profiling, but that may be a big deal for many. It still seems to me that Axe FX 3 is the top modeler out there, but it costs a bit more. Thank you for another great review, Leo.
You are welcome, I'm really happy that you like the video and thank you also for sharing your opinion! For sure we need more FW iterations...at least to increase the amps available....let's cross out fingers.... Thank you!
Thank you, Leo, for this thorough in-depth comparison - you've put a lot of work in it! Very useful! I prefer the sound of Fender Tone Master Pro though, as it is closer to the real amp (to my ears and taste), as the real amps in your test are also somewhat darker and mellower than both amp modellers. I also prefer the size and tougher tank-built-look of Fender, which might work better for the stage conditions - but I have to try out both units myself in person in order to have a well-based opinion - this is just my impression from the video test.
Fender have a long record of discontinuing a product and stopping any support laterally at the same time. If they do you have a near un-saleable unit. Neural live and die from their unit. To Fender it is merely one of hundreds of products. If they make more money in one dept it gets a bigger budget. The budget to upgrade the master Pro can be taken to bring out a new guitar line etc. If the unit had been more modest but half the price and simply aimed at the hobbyist it could do very well but competing with truly pro competitors is nonsense.
Fender has got the UI right as far as I’m concerned, I want this pedal in front of this amp and adjust them easily, not be a technician and loose my inspiration before I start to play
Excellent video and demo song as always Leo. The Tone Master is a good looking unit, but it's missing a lot of key features the QC already has. Like you said, the Fender is in its infancy, so we shall see what support Fender offers. Like another statement a commentor made, if Line 6 made a Helix 2.0 and incorporated the new features the QC/Tone Master have, I'd probably buy that first due to their history of updates and support, but that's just my personal opinion. Can't wait to see how your opinion may change over time while using the Tone Master (or if you sell it or stop using it for any reason). Keep up the good work. God bless and rock on 🎸😎👍
Thank you so much: I'm super happy that you like the song! Yes, we have to hope in regular firmware upgrades...for instance in order to add amps, cabs, etc....something Fractal, Line 6, BOSS have done a lot in the past...and are actually continuing doing...This Fender platform for sure needs time to mature and evolve. Thank you!
@@Scott__C I agree with you about innovation. Profiling is a key feature of the QC and Kemper and not having that ability in the Fender product that costs the same is a con for purchase. If Fender's modelling sounds as good or better than profiles, it may be a moot point eventually.
Damn. When you said I'm one and you are almost 30 thousand it hit me. You should have had at least 3 times the subscribers you have now. I'm sure you will get there as your work is really top quality as it could possibly be. I also wonder when all the other units will catch up with what Roland has achieve in terms of latency.. it's the number one factor that makes me feel I'm not missing out with all the other units.. But both units sound great. As everything does now days with enough tweaking. take care Leo!
Nice review, Leo! Yes, QC have more flexibility. But, new tone pro is "too green "😊. So, let see after. Btw, after installation of Cortex Control Beta my PC has a Blue Dead screen, so be careful!
Thank you, I'm happy that you like the video!!!! Yes, I really hope that Fender will keep coming FW upgrades....thank you also for sharing the problems of the QC app....
I’m sure you noticed the very clumsy gating after staccato playing. What I find baffling is the virtually identical clumsy gating for both units. Is there a reason for this odd behavior? The gating noise was very loud for each, as in deal-breaking loud. I must be missing something.
Leo, your reviews just getting better and better! I used my ears..and I agree, the Neural just sounds better. Also, profiling is a powerful "future-proof" feature. I think Fender gets some of its efforts right...but in the end, the ears have to be satisfied and the user has to find it easy to CREATE. We are artists, after all. So, the Fender falls just a little short. But both will make alot of musicians happy. Thank You.
patches.... Gapless - end of discusson - gap is huge "not gigable gear" check . in the end we'll stick to 5 fav amps and a few fx - but gapless change is what make the thing usable in rel life or if its only for domestic use. QC sounds good has tons of features and lacks the most important ONE a pro gear need: Gapless change.
Hi Leo, I was waiting for your thoughts on Fender unit. I currently have Kemper Stage and Hx Stomp XL + Tonex. I use kemper for only recording because I've heard it has a lot of switch problems if you use heavily. For band practice and stage do you think Fender or Quad Cortex would be a better / easier solution than Stomp+Tonex? Should I upgrade? I heard both of them are 3+ ms latency. I like the drives on stomp and amps on Tonex. For other effects nobody compares delays or reverbs of these units...
Hi, Stomp and ToneX are a great couple. With TMP or with the QC you are gonna have an all in one unit...therefore somehow you are simplifying. On the other hand you are gonna drop a lot of money...so I'm not completely sure it is worth to spend all those money...
another fantastic video, Leo! i really appreciate your work -- it has more thought than other UA-cam guitar videos and you're so good at explaining the practical applications of technical features. i'm looking forward to seeing how the TMP evolves with firmware updates. one aspect of the TMP that i'm interested to learn more about is how using the loops effects latency; hopefully you get to cover that in a future video.
Thank you so much for such amazing compliments!!!! Yes, I'm gonna do a latency dedicated video...I'm also curious to check out how latency sum up using all those external loops.... Thank you!
What, no bass amps here? Pff.... dissappointing. Fender Rumble are really great amps, it's strange that Tone Master Pro can't emulate it (yet, I hope). Anyway, thanks for amazing reviews!
I'm starting to think all tone master pro owners are the equivalent of BMW drivers.. they can't just demonstrate a sound they have to rip out huge self gratifying solos.
it's all about the platform flexibility and its future - will Fender be able to keep developing it for years to come? Like Helix or Kemper have been doing for YEARS, instead of coming up with a new device every couple of years? Let's see....
To my ear the tone master vs plexi vs QC, you should actually be dialing up the mids on the tone master. The QC has less dynamic range and so has lots of upper mids. The way our ears work is that we perceive the mid range as being louder than treble or bass. So we often mistake upper mid range as treble. The tone master sounds like it has less mids and more bass. Try turning up the mids and dialing back the treble and/or bass to get it closer to the real amp or QC. I hear more dynamic range in the Tone Master which will likely make it more difficult to dial in, because it is limiting less.
Though Leo has not yet responded to you (as he almost reply to every one), anyway just to say, that you got a very interesting suggestion (EQing to have a balanced tone amongst the 3).
Excellent video, I wish the tone master, had something for the bass guitar? I just bought the Fender? now I'm not sure? I love the screen better on the Fender. I could return it. And get a cortex? I don't have that many amps to do profiling. They both sound great and I have my line 6 to do bass tracks. The Fender is definitely better sounding than the stomp box, line 6. At the end of the day it's all about you playing. Whatever you have, you make some good. Excellent video and surprising. Thank you!!!!!
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video! I would suggest you to check out the user manual...I was not able to find bass amps....maybe they will be added in the future, even we don't know Fender plans...so we can't be 100% sure it will happen. Thank you!
Thank you Leo for this comparison. I own Pod Go which is ok. I jut play for fun and sometimes play in gigs. Do you think that upgrading to Quad cortex it will be big step ? Thanks again
Hi, you are welcome!!!! The POD GO is a nice machine...compared to the QC has some limitation, like the possibility to make and load profiles, or the more complex signal chain in the QC. If these things are important for you, I would say that it is worth upgrading. Otherwise, with the saved money you can by a better FRFR system, or other gear you may be wanting.
Thanks Leo! Always super professional videos! I have a Kemper with power amp and the cabinet, and I am really happy! Do you thing QC with power amb and a cabinet is better?
Hi, thank you so much for such nice words!!! If you are happy with your device, I would not change. Nonetheless, I have done a comparison video between the two units, that you may want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/kfTiZIfkOZs/v-deo.html Thank you!
In a blind test no one could tell the difference in the intro. They all sound good 😊 Awesome comparison, lol @ QC app coming soon, they have been saying that for 2 years. I agree with your findings the QC is the better device right now.
Tonemaster is a weak effort in my opinion. But I still think AXE FX sounds better than both. I had a QC and sent it back. It was ok, but I wasn't impressed for the price.
My one cent. Software (sound) will change with each update. Hardware specifications seems to be very secret. Imagine buying a computer without beeing informed about processor, memory and storage capabilities.
Leo, I compared them It seemed like the QC foot switches were closer together than the TMP. As such, I was not confident about using the QC with a band. I think they both sounded great. Funny enough, I preferred the TMP Plexi sound. I was testing with 60s Les Paul. The Fender nailed the Jimmy Page tones. You are right, the QC profiling is a great feature. Do you think it is possible for Fender to add it? Thank you very much for the helpful videos.
You are welcome and I'm happy that you find the video useful! Yes, the profiling procedure could be added, as all the I / O needed is included (for instance the XLR input)...We just need Fender implements the software...they could even take NAM and put it inside the unit...
I prefer the smaller size of the QC. It’s light weight and fits in my gig bag. I also like that the QC has two XLR inputs. I play acoustic and I use an acoustic preamp (Fire-Eye Red-Eye) with the QC. The preamp can be powered up by using phantom power from the QC. My vocal microphone is attached to the other XLR input on the QC. So for this use case (acoustic + vocal) I really appreciate having two XLR inputs. With electric guitar I’ve found that Amalgam captures work well for me. I.e. I like captures in the QC. I play bass as well so the bass amps are useful for me in the QC. What I miss in the QC is the desktop editor, longer IRs, USB-C and plugins. I’d like to use the QC as a simple mixer as well. With the current UI this is quite difficult. If I understood correctly Fender has addressed this? The scribble strips seem really nice! I can’t wait to see how the Tone Master Pro will evolve in the future. The hardware seems promising and I would assume Fender has good resources to develop the software.
Hello Leo, Thanks a lot for this video. I was looking to buy the Quad Cortex a lot, and since Fender put out the Tone Master Pro, I hesitated. Since your video is well explained and well documented, I'm gonna go with the Quad Cortex. Suits my needs more than the Fender. Once again, thank you Leo !
How huge is that tone master??😅 I have to listen with proper headphones because I'm hearing the fender more accurate in the amp reproduction and because that is in contrast to your opinion then I'm probably wrong 😅 By the tone master is for sure a great piece of gear but I'm not sure if fender business point is right At that price point I guess it should offer more to the counterparts to be considered interesting. Nowadays quad cortex , axe and the Kemper are still not easy to beat then an higher price isn't my opinion so much attractive to that unit
Hi, thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the videos!!! I have some profiles here: www.leogibsonguitar.com/shop-online/p/leo-soldano-prof Thank you for your interest in my work!!!
Leo, how are you able to play the same things on all the gear without skipping a beat. Are you having some audio device that sends the guitar input to the devices simultaneously? 😮
Hi, I have two methods 1) I record a DI track of the guitar and then I ramp it, send it to all the units 2) I use the Little Labs PCP Instrument Distro 3.0 that has 1 inputs and 3 out.... Thanks!
Hi, I'm using the stock pick up of the two Suhr models I'm playing in this video...the V60LP in my classic antique (which I love) and the Suhr SSH+ in the Modern. Thank you!
That more sound section was very helpful! I think the Tonemaster has the same models of the 300 euros fender digital amp, very dark and flat. If you mess up the plexi model, then it's red flag
Grazie Leo another great review. I will wait until next year for the Fender Tone Master Pro pawn shop edition. Less money and more amps, cabs and fx's. I can't believe they let this one out of the gate like this.
esas especificaciones son erroneas, la fender tone master tiene muchos mas amplificadores, esta claro que te decantas por la neural. Por que no especificas que la fender tiene 8 NUCLEOS Y LA NEURAL SOLO 4 NUCLEOS ?
Hi, I'm not sure if I have properly understood your message. Nevertheless, you can check out the number of amps in the user manual. As regards the "nucleus" if you mean DSP...well, it would depend from the type of DSP, how well the software is optimised, etc...I mean the number of DSP alone does not mean to much to me....
@@LeoGibsonGtr If you are right, what I see is that it has come to the market at the same price as some competitors that are already established and proven to work and also supported by software for the computer, this fender has not yet developed this type of software necessary to make backup of your presets. In principle, the interface looks much better than the Neural since each Switche has a screen and that is great, and the on-screen presentation of the amplifiers and pedals is super good. And it cannot handle captures either, although with updates they will surely be able to do that. And each Switches can be illuminated with different colors, which is very good for playing live. It will take more time to see if it evolves and is on par with the others, that it has good support and updates, although I am afraid that they are not going to give anything for free, if they offer you an update with improvements and more amplifiers it is not worth it. Surprise that they charge for it, time will tell everything.
I'll still be going with the Valeton GP 200 because of the price to performance. For my needs it will be adequate. These units are better (and obviously do different things to the Valeton), but not enough to justify such a huge price. If I was going to spend thousands, then I would go with an Axe-FX III anyway.
Really great video, maybe it will be interesting to take in count the release date and how many updates has adquired each product. To this point, Fender product is kind of a baby using dipers vs Quad Cortex as a teenager
I preferred the Fender Tonemaster pro sounds....interestingly. I felt that it was definitely closer to the real Fender amp. You are right about the QC being closer for the Plexi, however.
Agreed - especially as someone who personally prefers cleaner sounds.. not a huge fan of heavy distortion personally. I do admittedly like the option for playing some 80s/90s songs I grew up with.. but generally, for playing around on my own, I like clean with the ability to push to the edge of break up… that might tip me towards TMP. I need to dig into some more clean comparison vids. I’d like to buy one of these soon.
Hi, thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video! Well, I prefer not to say what I'm using outside videos....as it would be a sort of black and white opinion out of the blue and without a context, that would maybe influence someone in the wrong direction... Thank you for your patience
Re the Tonemaster, 44.1kHz is the sample rate for A/D conversion, which I believe is perfectly acceptable. That does not necessarily affect the distorted tones’ out of band accuracy. Distortion tones are routinely 2x or 4x or even higher oversampled. As new as the Tonemaster is, I feel safe assuming oversampling is used widely.
Hi, I'm fine thanks! I hope you are fine too!!! Well, the prices are pretty difference therefore I don't know if it is a fair comparison....I have to think about it Thank you for your suggestion!

Both sound good, but the Fender Tone Master sounds a little warmer ant to my ears better than the Quad Cortex.

Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion and your findings!
i felt the tone master mor like a FAT Tones no dark, at all couse the tone master have a lot of eq . SO quadcortex more posibilities at all.... BUT i prefer very FAT TONES of tone master pro, great reviews tks leo you are excelet
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video!
Thank you also for sharing your findings!!
I was hoping what I call "The Pope of Tone" to do a video like this. Rock on your holiness Leo!
😊
😀😀😀👍...God Bless You!
You are welcome, I'm happy that you like the video and thank you also for sharing your opinion and your findings!!!
Hi, thank you for sharing...interesting points!
Fender has got the UI right as far as I’m concerned, I want this pedal in front of this amp and adjust them easily, not be a technician and loose my inspiration before I start to play
ok, thank you for sharing!
I clicked 'like' before even watching the vid, bravo Leo!
😀...Grazie 1000!!!!
Thank you!
I'm of the opinion that everybody doesn't need to copy everybody else. If they do, why have more than one or two companies making these things?
@@Scott__C I agree with you about innovation. Profiling is a key feature of the QC and Kemper and not having that ability in the Fender product that costs the same is a con for purchase. If Fender's modelling sounds as good or better than profiles, it may be a moot point eventually.
I do agree!
Thank you so much for you nice words!!!! Thank you also for sharing you opinion...and yes, so far BOSS latency is the best, together with NUX.
Obrigado pelo vídeo, bastante informativo e intuitivo, futuramente comprarei a minha Quad Cortex. Deus continue abençoando sua vida
The best reviewer on the UA-cam. Cheers Leo
Thank you so much for such an amazing compliment!!
Was seriously waiting for you to drop one of them off your knees at the end there! 😳😄
😀😀😀
Thank You.
Hi, thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the videos!!!!
Thank you also for sharing your opinions and your findings!!!
👏👏🤩🤩
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍
Cortex received a PC app update today and now it is become much more usable as "rack device"
Yes, I do agree....I would just add that I think that the control app it is still in beta...
I think these are the best reviews on UA-cam. You bring both musicianship and technical knowledge of the gear.
Hi Isaac, thank you soooo much for such an amazing compliment!!!!
@@LeoGibsonGtr it is well deserved my friend
♥️ ♥️🙏
Nice one Leo. Excellent comparison video as always!!
Thank you soooo much, I'm really happy that you like the video!!!
best comparisons on yt

Both units are amazing to me! I love the work that each of these companies have put into their amp modeling products.
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
another fantastic video, Leo! i really appreciate your work -- it has more thought than other UA-cam guitar videos and you're so good at explaining the practical applications of technical features. i'm looking forward to seeing how the TMP evolves with firmware updates. one aspect of the TMP that i'm interested to learn more about is how using the loops effects latency; hopefully you get to cover that in a future video.
You are welcome and I'm happy that you like the video!
I do agree....a bass amp has to be implemented soon....
The best “gear comparison “ chanel ever!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you for such an amazing compliment!!!!
If you want them to sound similar why dont you just make one sound on the tone master and profile it with the qc :D
I am thinking the Tone Master Pro is actually a fender Mustang GTX100 on pedal mode
Hi, thank you for sharing!
In my opinion Fender amps are really good...Marshall ones...need to be improved....
Thanks for the info! For the latency, BOSS is still The KING
You are welcome! Yes,
I prefer my GT1000 👍
😀👍
The GX-100 is really good and affordable!
I'm starting to think all tone master pro owners are the equivalent of BMW drivers.. they can't just demonstrate a sound they have to rip out huge self gratifying solos.
Thank you for sharing!
AWESOME VID, amazing playing and comparison. That's funny hearing a Marshall amp sim on a FENDER modeler. 🤣
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video!!!
Yes....it's funny...but Fender needs to improve their Marshall models...
it's all about the platform flexibility and its future - will Fender be able to keep developing it for years to come? Like Helix or Kemper have been doing for YEARS, instead of coming up with a new device every couple of years? Let's see....
Thank you for sharing....yes, we have to wait and see how much Fender is gonna develop this platform
Thanks for your honest review. It's rare now a days in the internet.
You are welcome and thank you so much for such great compliment!!!
Thank you!
GREAT....tonemaster pro vs fractal fm9?
Thank you so much!! Yes, that's a video I would like to do! I need time...😀
understood..thank you for all your videos:they are all wonderful@@LeoGibsonGtr
Thank you Leo for this comparison. I own Pod Go which is ok. I jut play for fun and sometimes play in gigs. Do you think that upgrading to Quad cortex it will be big step ? Thanks again
Hi, you are welcome!!!!
The POD GO is a nice machine...compared to the QC has some limitation, like the possibility to make and load profiles, or the more complex signal chain in the QC. If these things are important for you, I would say that it is worth upgrading. Otherwise, with the saved money you can by a better FRFR system, or other gear you may be wanting.
@@LeoGibsonGtr thank you very much
Great video. Tone Master Pro vs. Fractal FM3?
Thank you soooo much! Yes, that's something I would like to do....
Thanks Leo! Always super professional videos! I have a Kemper with power amp and the cabinet, and I am really happy! Do you thing QC with power amb and a cabinet is better?
Hi, thank you so much for such nice words!!!
If you are happy with your device, I would not change.
Nonetheless, I have done a comparison video between the two units, that you may want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/kfTiZIfkOZs/v-deo.html

In a blind test no one could tell the difference in the intro. They all sound good 😊
Awesome comparison, lol @ QC app coming soon, they have been saying that for 2 years.
I agree with your findings the QC is the better device right now.
Hi, thank you, I'm really happy that you like the video!!! Yes, the QC app took a lot of time...but at least finally it's here....
Tonemaster is a weak effort in my opinion. But I still think AXE FX sounds better than both. I had a QC and sent it back. It was ok, but I wasn't impressed for the price.
Thank you for sharing your experience and your findings!
My one cent. Software (sound) will change with each update. Hardware specifications seems to be very secret. Imagine buying a computer without beeing informed about processor, memory and storage capabilities.
Hi, thank you for sharing your findings!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Good points about the double XLR inputs...I do agree with you
Thanks!
perfect review.

Hello Leo,
Thanks a lot for this video. I was looking to buy the Quad Cortex a lot, and since Fender put out the Tone Master Pro, I hesitated. Since your video is well explained and well documented, I'm gonna go with the Quad Cortex. Suits my needs more than the Fender.
Once again, thank you Leo !
You are welcome and I'm happy to have been of some help!
How huge is that tone master??😅
I have to listen with proper headphones because I'm hearing the fender more accurate in the amp reproduction and because that is in contrast to your opinion then I'm probably wrong 😅
By the tone master is for sure a great piece of gear but I'm not sure if fender business point is right
At that price point I guess it should offer more to the counterparts to be considered interesting.
Nowadays quad cortex , axe and the Kemper are still not easy to beat then an higher price isn't my opinion so much attractive to that unit
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion and your findings!
Keep your time ... and listen when you can...thank you!
Great job AND great playing, like always !... and that wonderful accent...

Really sorry the fender amps the Fender modeler sound exactly like the real thing the quad wasn't close
Hi, thank you for sharing your findings.
QC is too bright in my opinion, and that make sound fardest than Fender about the real amp
Hi, thank you for sharing!
Leo, how are you able to play the same things on all the gear without skipping a beat. Are you having some audio device that sends the guitar input to the devices simultaneously? 😮
Hi, I have two methods
1) I record a DI track of the guitar and then I ramp it, send it to all the units
2) I use the Little Labs PCP Instrument Distro 3.0 that has 1 inputs and 3 out....
Thanks!
Best channel and all the information others don't tell. May I ask, which guitar pick you are using? Thanks
Hi, I'm using the stock pick up of the two Suhr models I'm playing in this video...the V60LP in my classic antique (which I love) and the Suhr SSH+ in the Modern.
Thank you!
quad cortex still good and happy to own one ,fender just copied cortex and helix floor 😅😅😅😅
Thank you for sharing...yes...it seems like a marriage between the two, in terms of look... 😀
That more sound section was very helpful! I think the Tonemaster has the same models of the 300 euros fender digital amp, very dark and flat. If you mess up the plexi model, then it's red flag
Hi, thank you for sharing your findings!!!
Do it with the helix please, amazing video!!
Thank you for your suggestion....yes, that' something I would like to do....
Excellent as always, Leo! Just curious, are there any Dumble model inside the Tone Master Pro?

Grazie Leo another great review. I will wait until next year for the Fender Tone Master Pro pawn shop edition. Less money and more amps, cabs and fx's. I can't believe they let this one out of the gate like this.
44.1 kills all interest for purchasing for me.
Thank you for sharing!
Actually also for me is a bit underwhelming...
I'll still be going with the Valeton GP 200 because of the price to performance. For my needs it will be adequate. These units are better (and obviously do different things to the Valeton), but not enough to justify such a huge price. If I was going to spend thousands, then I would go with an Axe-FX III anyway.
Check out the Boss GX-100. It's really good.
Thank you for sharing!
Really great video, maybe it will be interesting to take in count the release date and how many updates has adquired each product. To this point, Fender product is kind of a baby using dipers vs Quad Cortex as a teenager
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video!!!
Yes, the TMP is in its infancy...I do agree...
la pucha que es fea la fender... que les paso para diseñar semejante armatoste?
Thank you for sharing...
the hardware and easy access on tone master is sweet but 27 stock amps seems pretty limited ..cheap budget ones give you 40+ Neural DSP is still KING
Hi, thank you for sharing!
I have 100 stock amps
I preferred the Fender Tonemaster pro sounds....interestingly. I felt that it was definitely closer to the real Fender amp. You are right about the QC being closer for the Plexi, however.
Ok, thank you for sharing!
Especially with the ToneX out, the Fender seems dead in the water …
Hi, thank you for sharing!
Leo, amazing work as always. Curious: which are your top 2 modelers at this moment? In terms of feel and sound? Thanks in advance!
Hi, thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video!
Well, I prefer not to say what I'm using outside videos....as it would be a sort of black and white opinion out of the blue and without a context, that would maybe influence someone in the wrong direction...
Thank you for your patience
I would love to see the Quad cortex vs the Fractal Axe III unit.
Thank you for your suggestion!
Totally agree about the looks. Neural is much more attractive Imo
Yes, I do agree...thank you!
Best comparaison so far. I think QC sounds best. But... real amps still at 1st position for me.
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the video!!!
