SamuraiBass that’s quite interesting. I get where you are coming from. For me though, a lot of times pentatonics replace the arpeggios. Especially, but not only when there isn’t a lot of harmonic movement. Either way, you are making a very good point. If you know your arpeggios you can basically add any other note as grave notes and make them sound great, because you have that stable underlying grid of chord tones to hold it all together!
What’s your favourite use of arpeggios?
for me arpeggios is the begin and the end on bass. I use arpeggios for everything, accompaniment, soloing, groove, slap, tapping. Cheers
