was like that when i saw them live last night supporting chelsea wofle, the album's great but paled in comparison having seen them live first, much prefer this harsher sound, hope they embrace it on future releases.
Sigebrand STKY Kristina kinda utilizes that huskier, darker voice during the climatic end of Hierophant. Sounds quite awesome on record, but I’m surprised that they haven’t played it live yet as far as I know cause I think it would sound killer live.
Honestly I'm really not digging the vocal direction here. Kinda killed it for me cause yeah, she does literally sound like she's yawning. Idk... Still love this band though.
I...am SO...in Love! I have been spinning this band for a while now...I have had No idea she was So Bloody Gorgeous! And all of y'all bitching about how she's singing here...This is how women in metal should fucking sing... She is SO Powerful here! Sure it starts out somewhat awkward, but Oh Man when she gets past the "shyness" at the beginning of her songs...she's got a lament howl that would put a gypsy mourner to shame, and her fury and passion is carried on a haunted roar that could tear up mountains and hurl them at her enemies... It is SO fucking Powerful I don't know HOW y'all are Missing this! So she has too much heart and soul to stay confined to her studio recording voice. This is how a Ritual Mourner does Metal. I LOVE it when artists use their live performances to show us other angles of the music! Variant but complementary insights into their art... And this is how that voice on the albums sounds when she BELTS it out into an open space! btw, "ethereal"? is y'alls vocabulary so limited that you can only think "ethereal" when you hear a woman singing? Her singing on the albums is NOT "ethereal"! "Ghostly" maybe but that's not "ethereal". She sings Haunted as Fuck! "Haunted". "Mourning". And husky as hell all the way through! No, man, there's Far too much passion in her singing to be "ethereal", too much Pain, too much Rage, too much Grief, FAR too much Range of feeling and expression to be called, over and over in these comments! "ethereal". I don't know where all of y'all even get that from... Kristina sings what every woman feels who is going to war.
I'm just kind of shocked coming from listening to their recorded sound to this vocal style. Feels drastically different vocally but nail on the head with those pounding, rhythms then the careful syncopations. Still would love catch them on the stage anytime
I actually prefer her singing here vs the more ethereal recordings on the album. This is a Morrison style sound that I think lends itself a little better to the doom sound than the shoegazey recordings. Both are fine though, I just like this raw sound better.
I simply love this band, the whole thing is amazing, the vocals are beautifully unique, the guitar strums layers into reverberative blissfulness, the drums hit hard and on point with every strike, the bass is perfectly fuzzy with a groove that make the body move.
I feel that the next album shouldnt overdo it to create that ethereal sound so much.....the way her voice sounds was shocking at first but honestly, I think I prefer this so much more. I feel it.
I was shocked when I first started this video about her vocals but the more I listened, the more I wished she would've sounded like this on the actual recordings. I think I like this vocal style more. Kind of reminds me of Planes Mistaken for Stars. Much more emotional for me.
I think she needs to use only one ear on the headphones. she's forcing it because she feels the need because she can't feel the pitch it happens a lot when using heaphones while performing. pretty badass band though
she obviously uses a lot of effects or pedals or whatever in the studio, and it sounds really cool, i don't know why she doesn't use them live, she sounds ok, i guess im just used to listen to the record or something
The instrumentals fuckin rip, but her vocals threw me the fuck off. It sounds like shes trying too hard to have a deep voice. The vocals on the ep are great!!
So I heard this band was supporting Chelsea Wolfe in Manchester so I checked them out on Spotify and thought they were great. She sounds NOTHING like the beautiful ethereal vocals on the studio recordings. In fact, she sounds bloody awful here. Great musicians, but can't handle them vocals.
MudgeColeman hey man. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. To me this sounds amazing and it's called a Live show. Live version. Live take of the recorded song. I personally like to rock out harder during a concert vs. the softer vocals of the studio recording, so this is choice and she is multitalented. I'm new to them and it's refreshing
I saw the guys open for The Cult, I have been going to concerts for over 45 years and this was the ONLY time I actually thought about throwing a rock at the band.
4 years later and I still come back to listen to this. Fucking amazing.
she's a beast! I love her so much!
@8:33 drummer vs. headphones,,,,,,,drummer wins
I'm so excited for Portland this weekend
It's weird hearing her sing with that husky, yawning kind of singing, when she has such an ethereal voice on the recordings.
yeah i don't think those overdone gothic-y vocals really suit her/kw's music either. it's cool though, it's their band, they can do whatever.

for reals. i was thinking it was a different singer.
Honestly I'm really not digging the vocal direction here. Kinda killed it for me cause yeah, she does literally sound like she's yawning. Idk... Still love this band though.

Kristina sings what every woman feels who is going to war.
i absolutely LOVE this band and the deep feelings they are transporting! I FEEL HER🖤
I've been waiting for this. Kristina rules. Saw kw this year and the new miserable is amazing
I was listening to KW earlier, and it feels like destiny that they posted an audiotree sesh today.
I'm just kind of shocked coming from listening to their recorded sound to this vocal style. Feels drastically different vocally but nail on the head with those pounding, rhythms then the careful syncopations. Still would love catch them on the stage anytime
wish i had a time machine to go back 5 years and see them at subterranean! bet that was one hell of a show.
Iv noticed female vocals with a doom tone is coming up.
Fvnerals
And it's the most fucking epic thing on earth.
A trick: you can watch movies at KaldroStream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Zane Rafael Yea, been watching on KaldroStream for years myself :D
@Zane Rafael yup, I have been watching on kaldroStream for months myself :D
OK, SHE IS SERIOUS..
I actually prefer her singing here vs the more ethereal recordings on the album. This is a Morrison style sound that I think lends itself a little better to the doom sound than the shoegazey recordings. Both are fine though, I just like this raw sound better.
gods, finally someone else with some gods damned Taste! thank you. "Funeral-Mourner Doom" ha ha. It is Powerful man. I love it.
I simply love this band, the whole thing is amazing, the vocals are beautifully unique, the guitar strums layers into reverberative blissfulness, the drums hit hard and on point with every strike, the bass is perfectly fuzzy with a groove that make the body move.
Damn that shit is fucking fantastic... how did i not know this band before ?!
My favorite live version of Burn, still needs that lead guitar in my opinion. Love the slower more methodical pace here
Totally agree. Prefer this to the recording. It really stands out here, and I can't stop from replaying it over and over.
zach galifianakis is such an awesome drummer though...
Thought the drummer was Zach, lol
Naw, he plays for mewithoutyou
Casey Affleck more like
I was thinking the same thing!
Very unique voice. Love it.
Saw that they are recording new music so wanted to revisit!!! 🖤
I dig this. A lot. She's very witchy.
Been waiting for this to get uploaded! Love it and love them!
This is exactly what I needed!
We got a gig tonight let’s go 99c to get some candles
Fuck yeah
This is surreal.
So good. I need to see KW live.
This is so intense. What a fucking talented band.
I'm obsessed. so fucking good.
I feel that the next album shouldnt overdo it to create that ethereal sound so much.....the way her voice sounds was shocking at first but honestly, I think I prefer this so much more. I feel it.
The more I hear, the more I want!
headbanged
I was shocked when I first started this video about her vocals but the more I listened, the more I wished she would've sounded like this on the actual recordings. I think I like this vocal style more. Kind of reminds me of Planes Mistaken for Stars. Much more emotional for me.
It reminds me more of someone who just can't sing lol. At least on the albums the vocals are in the background with effects
such sound. so wow. very amaze.
They are really, really good.
Mommmmyyy 😍😍😍
❤❤❤
So good
Where is this singing intro from ??
Yo this is so sick. Has a birds in row vibe to it I love this
amazing
this track is so fierce
It's not one track..
That song utopia is pretty rad
I have that same sannhet shirt. rad
The instrumentals are sick AF, but I'm not digging the voice. It sound lower than in the record, wich sounds awesome.
minority here, but i prefer the live version.
I find it very sensual!
I think she needs to use only one ear on the headphones. she's forcing it because she feels the need because she can't feel the pitch it happens a lot when using heaphones while performing. pretty badass band though
wrong
she obviously uses a lot of effects or pedals or whatever in the studio, and it sounds really cool, i don't know why she doesn't use them live, she sounds ok, i guess im just used to listen to the record or something
2024
Sound is good but why she is singing so low ? It's better in the album.
The instrumentals fuckin rip, but her vocals threw me the fuck off. It sounds like shes trying too hard to have a deep voice. The vocals on the ep are great!!
wrong
Wonderful woman... thank you for dragging me into your hell
are they skremo
Damn very nice, i've seen them few years back in Sacramento. But her voice has changed not for better, in my oppinion.
The band sounds strong but why is she doing that to her voice? Her natural timbre is nice.

😅 my comment was actually addressing you, but I ain't typing it all out again lol 🤘🏽🤘🏽
She sounds like how a deaf person speaks.
and?
Haha
That was real bad.
I saw the guys open for The Cult, I have been going to concerts for over 45 years and this was the ONLY time I actually thought about throwing a rock at the band.
studio version is a lot better
Why lives sound so bad?
Please disregard previous post. I cannot get down with this shit.
Sounds like the cowardly lion. If I were king... of the forest!!!
Never heard someone that sings so much off key. Gringe.
there seems to be a problem with your ears, then, because she doesn't
8:34 love this hahaha
