Thank you for this video and the work that Gymnastic Bodies does. I’ve linked this video to my channel to inspire my viewers on how this exercise is REALLY done. Aloha
42:30 A video would've been sooo useful as opposed to picturing in the mind based on verbal descriptions ... especially for a topic like this. Is there video available for this?
thanks to this podcast it is possible to improve bodybuilding training by introducing more straight arm work and by adding more volume to it which is what I intend to do.
I just realized how little attention this video has compared to garbage on UA-cam. This is what’s wrong with society. Priorities are way off. This is gold and I would hang with either one of these guys any day 💯💪🏽
Tim - thanks for introducing coach Chris to my world. I've just joined his Fundamentals course. In just 1 week, the pain in my joints diminished greatly. Never learned about mobility and now that I am learning from this expert program, let's see what happens in 5 years....
@@Marco-pf3te I'm in his Fundamentals program. Highly recommended - training videos are superb. Every time you finish a session, it records into your workout history. The UI is getting better each year. Go for it.
I need to find a guy like Chris around my area. Ive been doing kickboxing for a while but I want to train myself with more bodyweight stuff. Hard to do cause I'm in ireland but I'm going to find someone anyways 😁
Can someone explain to me in his program he shows certain things exercises with certain equipment. Do we need all the equipment on the equipment list. Stall bar high bar, like with the stall bar, that’s like $300 plus I have no wear to install it at. Anybody use his program and figured this out. Thanks
I do his course in the gym. If you don‘t have a gym or the tools necessary, you will have to skip a lot of progressions, which is not optimal. Stall bars are an absolute necessity, you would miss out on some of the most beneficial exercises
Tim, Thanks for this podcast! It would be great to learn more about nutional reseach and how it differers from the althecic verse the medical worlds. How do you determine good experiments to persue? P.S. Going to try the cricket bars... maybe I will be able to jump now ;)
Should an active 22 gymgoer start with fundamentals or foundations 1? Also are the programs going to develop your legs adequately? Are the single leg squats from F1 enough for that?
Depends on what you mean by "adequate" I guess. I'm struggling to get past basic pushups and ring rows, which is like step 3 of Foundations Upper Body 1... I'm sure it will take me years to finish Foundations 4. But for lower body... I could already do one-legged squats, easily did max reps, which is like 5x10 or something... Now I'm no Foundations 4 Lower Body, which is weighted lunges. At 25% bodyweight added, that seems way easier than single leg squats. I'd finish Foundations 4 if it weren't for the fact that I don't have enough weights at home. If you can do 5x10 or 15 lunges while holding weights equal to your bodyweight, I'm sure your legs will be adequately developed, but it seems like a ludicrously easy goal compared to all the other parts of the program, and once achieve it, I'm not sure where you're supposed to go from there. Just keep adding weight? Doesn't seem to be anything calisthenic or gymnastic about it anyway, just normal free weight strength training, not that there's anything wrong with that.
I believe it was the 1976 Olympic Games (Montreal) where she "fell apart". 72 (Munich) is where she "shockingly: defeated the "rest of the world". 72 she was a big "surprise". 76 she was a "disappointment".
I returned this Kindle version of Building the Gymnastic Body: The Science of Gymnastics ..., as the kerning (space between letters) was horrible & made it exceedingly difficult to read/enjoy. The hard copies are way too expensive. The author should insist Amazon fix this!
No, theyre not. Do a jefferson curl without any weight. Is that dangerous? You can do that? Then continue to do Jefferson curls and add a couple of kilos a month. Gradually and slowly build strength.

I'd say foundations 1.
I recently started working out at the gym in Denver and I feel my legs get enough development. I'm not familiar with the on line program though.
Depends on what you mean by "adequate" I guess. I'm struggling to get past basic pushups and ring rows, which is like step 3 of Foundations Upper Body 1...
