What a wonderful episode that has it all. Those amazing masons with those incredible stone entry walls and bluestone steps, those hardworking and skilled roofers, Tommy working his magic laying diamond pattern cedar shingles, Richard cruising the premises making sure things are done right, and then ole Roger and Kevin out there fishing! Hard to see Roger laboring though and know this was one of his last episodes. Sure miss him! Beyond that - where are the continuing episodes of this amazing home???

Had our roof done in 2014 with asphalt shingles. Seven man crew, 4,400 sq ft. Stripped off old single layer, replaced a few roof boards, cut in ridge vents, flashing, new drip edge. Done in one day, less than 9 hours. That whole crew hustled all day long. No issues with roof in the seven years since.
He wants to cut them himself because the dimension can vary. BTW mikea I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. I got it in my about tab.

Why don’t they make hour long shows on tv just as you’re getting into the show it’s over really sucks too I love this show love watching Tommy build stuff. I just wish they would make a hour long show instead of half hour

@@christybambi In my opinion yes because there is no curvature which is impossible if the earth is a globe. Many people have measured large frozen lakes for curvature and found none but you don't have to believe them because you can test it yourself. But I don't merely suggest believing what I or others may say. I suggest investigating and making up your own mind. I opened a door of information to you that you may have not heard before and you get to choose what to do with it.

Using drip edge on the facia instead of gutter apron, how are you gonna get the gutter under that drip edge from one end to the other gutter apron is called gutter apron for a reason I see you doing this all the time and no one has ever told you that it's wrong

I used to watch a lot of this old house in the mid 90's one winter and It just hit me. When I watch it now it reminds me of the holidays.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who takes 2-3 weeks to do a roof

Pretty cool with the heat on the floor and ceiling. Hope they show more of how they finish that hall way
Love this old house there doing a good job
Always loved these guys. Great video 🍻
Glad tommy was able to save them a couple bucks on the shingles, I’m sure they needed it👍🏻

😂😂
Great episode guys. 🖐💥🇺🇲
Probably less than 1% of the world can afford a remodel like this. It is nice to watch tho. Owner has deep pockets that's for sure.
I've never seen a drill press on a residential remodel, lol!
Anyone know how long the shingles on the roof would last,I live in Ireland and have them on my garden shed and they don’t last very long.
Usually around 20 years for an asphalt roof.
Kevin prayed real hard that Tommy didn't miss a nail.
This Old House, building rich peoples houses since the 70's

I thought Tommy usually keeps the drip edge a finger space away??? That copper looks like it was right against the house.
What is the cost of this project?
what a nice affordable house, you guys are tooooo much

Copper drip edge will last 5 of those cheap GAF shingles! LOL. It's a single layer where the nail goes through. So sad.
Lol 2 weeks?!? 😂😂💀 get an hispanic on there they’ll finish it in 2 days bruh
Why didn't you check for square on the window?
They were waiting for you to remind them, since you are a more qualified builder then all of them put together.
Edited out no doubt. They featured framing the curve and left out most of the rest.
I thought the same thing

Wow no Festool! Lol
Those entrance stairs will get annoying quick.
Especially once you get older. You wouldnt want to go outside anymore unless you install an escalator. But the owner's rich so why not?
@@ImALefty08Don't they have a garage? Who uses their own front steps when it's for guests.
💯
All McMansions get annoying sooner or later, unaffordable in the long haul, and impractical to live in
Hire some Mexicans/Hispanics that roof be done in 3 days.
