When Simon stops someone singing, he's listening very carefully and just knows the person could do and be better with a different song. He's Amazing how he just knows !
It's scripted. He gets told by the produces to stop her singing and sing the second song.

I should've paid more attention to our local singers. I'd never heard of her until it was in the Iredell news. She's very good. I'm sure she'll make it far. I hope she stays true to herself and doesn't let Holliwood get the best of her.
I was so honored to get to open for her at a local little bar about 6 months ago. She is truly a special talent and un replicable. Go DANI!!!!

I was envisioning her at a 1969 Woodstock concert. Her voice is nostalgic, yet modern. She is a timeless talent and needs her own records recorded. She is exactly what the music industry needs. She writes her own soulful music and her voice is like a beautiful tree swaying in the wind. She's effortlessly beautiful. Good for her! ❤

Itʻs really amazing to see how much Simon has changed from those days when he rarely gave a compliment and seemed to enjoy making contestants feel bad with his snide or hurtful comments. (I had a professor from the U.K. like that.) I think having a son he adores made him realize how important encouragement and support are and he would never want anyone saying to his son the awful things he used to say to contestants. Now he is kind and supportive, which is especially meaningful to those who are terrified to be up there and who used to be terrified to hear his comments. Dani was allowed to show her real talent and feel good about herself because of Simon. What a tremendous and positive change!

I am not a big country music person, but I do enjoy some of it, and for some reason, this girl really made me emotional. Her songs are beautiful! So much soul, so much feeling, and such a special voice. And never to be under-estimated, she writes her own music. That is a huge talent, and a plus for me. She is so sweet and humble too. I wish you the most success, Dani, you are awesome, you deserve it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think classic rock is Dani’s thing not necessarily country.
She loves Stevie Nicks she actually was doing a Fleetwood Mac show with other musicians & Dani was Stevie.

That is a HIT. She has a writing and singing gift and yes, a distinctive voice that wont get lost in the sea of today's soundalikes. In addition she's an old soul. Beautiful.

@@wordwan you have a valid question. With all the exposure they get from winning or reaching far in the contest, they should be walking straight to studio and produce hits. However, I feel something different with this girl. She is a great writer and a unique singer.

When Dani was just getting started, she used to play a few songs while the trio I was working with took their break. Even then, she was obviously incredibly talented and just needed some experience to shine bright and bold, like she did here! Go Dani!
Simon is doing his job and more, he just sets the stage for their best auditions. She is a great songwriter and beautiful voice. You can see the kind heart she holds.
Her sound and music is immediately record worthy - only better because it's live.

AGT has a very supportive audience, love their positive responses! Judges feedback is awesome! She has the voice to go far!
The audience, well, selected group of audience, are told to act certain way before the show starts. How do you think the cameras were able to capture the reactions of them at the right moment, you know, their comments, their "tears" and their approvals? Either they're wearing earpieces or they look at the signals above the stage. The earlier shows didn't have these on cue reactions until recently. All audience were asked NOT to give negative reactions, especially to children & young adult contestants when their auditions didn't go quite well. Just an observation on my part after I've been watching this show and other reality shows for so long.
Just to prove my point, you can watch when Amira Willihagen sings with Andre' Rieu, the camera "happened" to capture the moment of the audience crying and/or singing along with her. She's a gifted opera singer, Amira is. Also, you can watch Britain's Got Talent, you will see the same thing.
I LOVE when Simon sees something special in a performer - like Dani - and interrupt...and redirects their performance. He has the knack for seeing the underlying heart of these performers that they are afraid to reveal. Thanks to Dani and Thanks to Simon!

She overcame a hurdle of shyness and stage fright, and I was so happy for her. She has a beautiful voice and a great southern twang just right for country music.
she is a superstar, she captivated the audience with a guitar and her voice while oft singing in conversational tones. Every artist has their orbit thier lane, and if she stays in her lane she can dominate country/folk. also her songwriting is epic

Now that was incredible. She reminds me of a young Tanya Tucker. Voices like that are impossible to just do, that is genuine, unique natural talent, and the song was fabulous as well. Man! She's the whole package!

Went and listened to the full song. Tom Petty is smiling in heaven. This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this. Saw him 5 times in concert 3 times in front row. Was raised on his music. When he past it felt like I lost a family member and to hear someone honor him in such a beautiful way is just down right awesome. I cried to it and have been sharing it to all my pettyhead friends.
