- Elvis Costello & The Attractions perform 3 numbers on BBC's The Old Grey Whistle Test (1986). Songs are; I Hope You're Happy Now, Uncomplicated and Leave My Kitten Alone. There is a brief attempt at humour between Elvis and Andy Kershaw.
Bruce Thomas is a genius. The bassline to I Hope You're Happy Now is a true work of beauty.
I listened to that over and over for weeks when it first came out.
Great songs off one of Elvis' best albums.
Elvis kickin' ass. Thanks.
Thanks so much for posting these - I'd only ever seen the first song on a Whistle Test compilation programme many years ago. Great to see the Attractions in such fine form and Elvis in such fine voice. All a bit fresher faced but otherwise much the same as when I saw 3/4's of them this year!
Wow. I forgot how good this album is. Got the vinyl but lost the means to play it. Must put that right asap.
What a snack 💖
elvis at his best i.e. with the attractions

Steve Nieve - been with Elvis mostly since 1977.
5:11-5:16 6:25-6:35 glimpses of Steve Nieve's brilliance !!!
Look up Sandie Shaw "Are you ready to be heartbroken" great keyboards from Steve.
