Please id caterpillars before killing them. The one in the thumbnail looks like a peacock butterfly caterpillar. I had a friend who said black caterpillars were on his carrot foliage. I said "dont kill them, I'll take them", and i raised about 20 swallowtail butterflies with my dill and rue plants that were in my garden.
