I love the symbolism at 11:25. Lucifer’s face just says, “Okay, here we go again,” but in the next scene, when the spears are aimed at Charlie, that’s fear. He’s fine with himself being the target because, as he's the most hated being in all of creation, he’s used to it.

Jeremy Jordan, Lucifer's Voice actor, is a Tony nominated Broadway performer and Grammy nominated singer. He absolutely knows how to destroy your emotions with a song lol
My theory for the ducks is that he was fixated on the moment Charlie first laid eyes on one of his creations, the part where she sneaked in while he was working, and so he held on to that memory of her smile despite being estranged for a long time. There's also that line he sings, "I've missed that smile."
I would agree with that theory. It fits what depression is really like, and what being a father feels like. You hold onto the most insignificant seeming moments because of their simplicity. He held on to that look of wonder and awe. She saw him as the greatest thing ever because he made a little magic duck. For that moment he wasn't Lucifer, the fallen angel, reviled by all... he was the best daddy ever... and she loved him more than anything or anyone.
It’s so funny because Lucifer displays one of the biggest symptoms of depression ; Procrastination.
When depressed, you even pass talking to your best friends from out of state because they’re not in your immediate attention.
A list of Lucifer's depressive symptoms:
Self-isolation
Feelings of being burden to his daughter and family
Distraction via repetitive motion/work.
Hyperfixation (Specifically on ducks)
A lack of enjoyment coming from that hyperfixation and repetitive work
Very short attention-span.
Intrusive suicidal ideation/thoughts (His first scape goat to avoiding Charlie's question was to ideate falling off the ledge to his death)
A disinterest in things that used to make him happy.
Whats even more sad, is when you think of it, lucifer can teleport anywhere he wants in hell instantly. So him telling Charlie he will be there in an hour meant it took him that long just to mentally prepare himself to go there. 😢
Also, the beef Alastor has with Lucifer (aside from speculations of who owns him atm), comes from a power struggle between the two. Alastor is able to dominate others via power, but against lucifer he is helpless and weak. But one thing he can control and attempt to show he is stronger is with the connection he has with Charlie. Alastor is all about manipulation, and will do anything to show he is stronger then anybody else, no matter what tricks he uses.
Aside from mental and maybe physical prep (shower, clean clothes, etc.) he also could have just been being polite by not showing up immediately
He also goes againts everything alastor stands for being littrally one of the strongest beings in creation yet showing his emotions openly. I think he has a image of a ruthless tyrant but then that shattered when the first thing he did was hug Charlie
Alastor keeps feeling like he needs to prove he's the strongest. But lucifer littrally is

I am so glad they made Lucifer such a caring dad. Sure he's kind of a doofus who isn't exactly good at this, but he is legit trying and does truly love Charlie. Also Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him.
Most of the Alastor’s interactions with Lucifer are just him saying “Your daughter calls me daddy too.”
That phrasing is…certainly something.
It's funny because Charlie is probably way older than Alistor😂

There definitely is some correlation between a person’s life on Earth and the form they take in Hell. Angel Dust has at least one sibling in Hell who also has a spider like appearance. And Alastor was shot and killed by a hunter who mistook him for a deer, hence his ears and affinity for deer.
And also part of Alastors design is based on the legends of the Wendigo. A canibalistic deerlike monster. U can hear what is supposed to be a Wendigo scream when Alastor gets angry. You can hear it at 9:14
Alastor, the hunter, took the form of what had been his prey for most of his life. Whoever's in charge of designing their after-life selves definitely has a sense of humor.

I love the literal devil references in the first song. “With a punch of a pentagram.” “Normally I charge a sacrificial lamb.” And I lost it at him playing a GOLDEN FIDDLE!!!! So good.
The mental imagery i was assaulted with when you said "literally alastor just pissing on his territory" talking about Charlie/the hotel has me in shambles 😂💀
It’s so refreshing to finally see a reactor who can actually see through Alastor’s bullshit and not fall for his clear manipulations

My dad definitely loved me. I was lucky to have a kind, strong and good man for a father but there were things he loved more than me. He loved his ideals more and it strained our relationship because I was too much like his younger self. He loved cigarettes more than me too but they killed him so no use staying annoyed about that. I do appreciate the blessings I was born with though and he taught me so many incredible things that normal people just wouldn't get to learn or experience. My dad was a genius and so creative despite his sincere wish to be more professional and put together 😂. This is all to say that the song "More Than Anything" is very dear to me. I am so grateful to have had him and in the end I know he was proud of me. He didn't like my dreams but I think he was afraid I'd get hurt like he did. I did get hurt but like my father before me, I'm okay and I'm going to keep moving. When I die I want to be able to smirk at him one last time and say "I thought you said that would be difficult."
If you notice when he hugs vaggie he goes to touch her hallo but it isn’t here so he knew

Yeah the song More than Anything always gets me because it reminds me a lot of how things were with me and my dad growing up. We're great now and he's always been in my corner and it just gets me in the feels.

I think Alastor reaction here is also because Lucifer is the first person he’s met. That’s a lot more powerful than him and he couldn’t just intimidate like he did to husk in this episode

So, the picture in Lucifer's workshop isn't Zestial.
It's a different Overlord that hasn't been introduced in the series, yet. He hasn't been in Helluva Boss, either.
His name is Frederick von Eldritch and he has a daughter named Helsa von Eldritch who's supposed to have a mean girls-esque arch-rivalry with Charlie, though she hasn't been introduced yet, either.

In a show full of top tier incredible songs... more than anything stands out. Bith of their voices are gorgeous, and blend so well together. And the emotion both put into it. It hits me hard as I have a 9 year old daughter and my worries and hopes for her are echoed in Lucifer's parts of the song. This show does an absolutely flawless job of flipping the script to make you understand what really makes a person good, or bad. And yeah, Lucifer deserves the father of the year award here.

Fun fact that isn't Lilith carrying baby Charlie away, by that point lillith was already outside of hell, though not officially confirmed, it is highly suggested that that woman was Eve and it is even suggested in episode 8 due to some stuff lucifer says (not gunna spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet)
I absolutely loved angel and husk with the popcorn during this on prime.
I was listening to a lot of daughtry and nickleback after my parents got divorced and I think the reason why the “more than anything” song hits so hard is because even though my dad didn’t talk much or say much to me, it was always nice being around him and I always heard that music in the car with him when we’d hang out together. And I think the sound of “More than Anything” has a lot of similarities to the way those two bands would compose their songs; right down to the acoustic guitar riffs. I still cry every time I hear it 🥺

Charlie says he's already spoken to his father... and he says it's the first time she's spoken to him in years, and he's attentive in the way he's desperate to tie ties with her daughter... ""forgot"" that she called?! new theory! Charlie didn't speak to her father on the phone, she spoke to someone else pretending to be her father and that person put her in contact with Adam because he knew the result would be the same as in episode 1... OMG maybe it was Alastor, master of the voices ?!

This show is awesome, I do not know why there are Some touchy christians who think they speak for me about Haxbin Hotel. I am proud christian, I have no issue with this show. It could be a broadway play the music numbers are so good. Plus the messages are positive and do align with positive messages of Christianity, Forgiveness,Love,Kindness,second chances.. The show is 5/5 to me.

I personally feel like Alastor and Lucifer battling in this song style was some form of agreement between the two.
As much as I love Alastor, Lucifer is most likely the top dog of Hell, at least when it comes to power.
At first I didn't like this iteration of Lucifer, having gotten used to DC's/CW's... but he's grown on me.
Aside from this song, which we could debate was a draw, due to it being interrupted, I personally can't see Alastor losing too many "song battles."
