- Thanks to some pesky termites... We got to finally remodel or refurbish our home. It looks amazing to me and I am happy it has finally gotten an update. The home has a modern rustic feel to the new look. I just love it. And surprisingly my husband likes it too.

I enjoyed your tour! It’s like getting to know you more through your eyes. I love all the colors you chose especially the dining area and hallway. I don’t think you have too much fabric! Sweetheart, you absolutely need more fabric!!! You know, I would love to see you with the double garage for you a sewing room. I love the way you organize your fabric.thats what my dream was 30 years ago. Never happened!!!. I'm 78 this week and still planning to have myself a room that's about 60x 60.damn larger.

Ya the floor under my feet around the longarm would have started to crumble if another year had past they would have fully ruined that wood floor uhgggg. But we had the whole inside house and outside done. We should be good now 😊

WOWZA 🎉 GREAT JOB! 🎉 The new flooring and paint color scheme go together so beautifully in your living room and dining room! The padding and new carpet are absolutely amazing and what a HUGE difference the upgraded padding makes under good carpeting, especially how your carpet looks butted up next to the new floors! You guys did SO MUCH WORK and your home is amazing! When you decide to paint your bedroom…take a picture of the “Marry Me” wall and have it enlarged and framed on a canvas to hang on your wall so you can always have that awesome memory! Thanks for sharing your remodel with all of us! ❤
It was definitely a lot of work. Mainly all the moving of everything. And we have a few photos of the marry me wall framed. It's just breaking down and painting over the memory that we can't seem to do just yet.

What a nightmare! It's a good thing you chose to treat the whole house, you could have been dealing with this for years if you hadn't. I could not have stayed in the house during the drilling.
Ya it had been about 3 years of finding them here and there. But we said No More and finally did the whole house.
You must be exhausted, you all worked so hard. It looks wonderful and it’s well deserved after all you went through. Congratulations! We remodeled our 100 year home in 1994 with four kids underfoot. What an adventure.😊
Oh ya that had to be rough then. It definitely was easier to do this with no kids in the home.

Thank you for telling us about the termites. I have been thinking of replacing my carpets with the same type of flooring that you had. I did not know that termites like it. You may have saved many of us a lot of expensive repairs and many other problems with this video. Thank you so much. Your home and rooms will be beautiful when you have time to get it all together again.
Ya they love that wood press laminate and here the subterranean termites come up through carpet to eat cardboard boxes and wood furniture. It's crazy 🤪

Love everything you’ve done, Tiff and Scott. Beautiful, and you shied feel very proud of what you’re achieved. Termites are the pits but hey, you’ve got a brand new home! We had termites,but strangely just one step on our out door stairs leading from back deck to the yard. We got the pest people in and they drilled under the house. We have an old Queenslander house, 100+ years old, all timber, so glad that the monsters didn’t get into the house. There are homes in our area, all brick, that had to be totally stripped and had to be rebuilt once treated. Congratulations on a beautiful home,and loved seeing all your goodies. ❤️❤️🇦🇺
Ya the termites are the pits. But a newly updated house out of them was worth it 😄

You are very hard workers. Putting down flooring and especially ripping up carpet is no joke! I love the Monsoon paint! My favorite paint color in our house in an oops paint I picked up on a whim. It is a medium blue trimmed in white. Thanks for sharing all your hard work. It's beautiful! And no more pesky termites 🎉

I am about to paint my bedroom/sewing studio. I moved just one wall of sewing items which were on target metal shelving. I am 73 and I hurt most of the time so moving containers etc out is slow. I figured I’d do one walk at a time. My
Living room looks like your garage. Ha ha. As I watched your photos on your video I smiled because I am doing the sand thing right now to get ready to paint and tear up a rug to be no replaced by vinyl tiles. My cats like to claw the bedroom old tug which was here two years ago when I moved here. I have the same type of flooring throughout my condo as you. No rugs except for an d bedroom dirty cream rug. I really enjoyed your makeover your. What an expense you had with the termites and then all the new flooring etc. I am glad it is over and now you both need to rest. Wonderful video. Thank you.
Yes for sure glad it's over. It cost us too much to do all this. But we saved some by doing the living and dining floor ourselves. But now it will be a while before we catch up on bills. Ohhh the things we deal with as home owners uhggg. But can't have termites eating our home 😕 so it was time for those boogers to get out!

A bummer that you had termites. Back when I lived in an apartment my lovely senior citizen neighbors had lost their house to termites. They told me that they actually let the fire dept use their house as training. Sad. I don’t know why it got to that point, but it did.

Termites are common here in Australia, they do an awful lot of damage. So sorry this happened to you. I like the new floors, love the colour. The carpet guy did a fabulous job. It was a huge job moving everything and repainting, I'm amazed at how much you've achieved in such a short time.

WHOA, What a HUGE job!! We changed flooring a few years ago, gutted the kitchen, and removed a wall. Crazy amount of "making do" 😳 as we "cooked" in the laundry room and had furniture everywhere. But like you it was WONDERFUL to change paint colors and everything looked so CLEAN! GOOD for you guys, fresh start!
Yup it was a lot of work, but so worth the fresh update and very clean house 😊

Thanks for sharing your video. I am so sorry ya’ll had to endure the termite saga. Everything turned out so beautiful! My hubby and I have a metal stud home with raised plywood flooring with laminate on top. I knew termites would love the plywood, but didn’t think about the laminate.
Yup termites love that stuff. To tell if they are there it looks like water damage. The floor will look bubbly and it will eventually crumble if you step on it where they are eating.
I have a similar problem. Ours wasn’t termites, mine was electrical. We were insulating our attic and found old knob and tube wiring from the turn of the century. As a result we had to replace ceilings, wall,flooring and replace the walls of the stairway. All of the old plaster dust was everywhere. I feel for you. I’m there with you.
Wow ya that is a lot of work. I'm glad ours didn't come down to removing walls. That would have prompted a move out for sure. I'm glad yours is fixed too. 😊

One good thing about the flooring it’s waterproof if it ever floods you can pull it up and dry out the concrete and lay it back down

Oh my dears, blooming critters, we in uk 🇬🇧 don’t have termites, but boy, I feel for you. I had a moth problem this summer, eaten all underneath my furniture on wool carpets, and some clothes. I feel your pain, much love, kris in New Forest England

I had no idea that termites would eat the laminate flooring. I not only learn tips for sewing but also what to do if you have termites. Thank you for the additional info above and beyond sewing.
Oh yes that laminate wood press floor is highly attractive to termites. And it will look like water damage at first. So it is confusing to even think it's termites. We learned the hard way.

Tiffany and Scott, you did an amazing job of refurbishing your house. I did our floors for about 7 years but then it was only the brown wood grain design. I did find that the woodgrain does wear off after time and with the moving of chairs on the floor. I have finished cutting most of my fabric so I can redo my sewing room. Then I will go through the last of my late daughter Dannielle's fabric in a few week's time. then I will be able to start sewing quilts again.
Hope ya get it done 😊 it's nice to have a finished sewing room.

It looks amazing! I had one of my sons lay a similar floor down for me. My late husband wouldn’t do it. I suppose the idea of having to move so many years of stuff was too hard for him. I still have 2 rooms to go. Not sure that will happen in my lifetime though. I have two little dogs that shed an amazing amount of short hairs and I’ve found the best thing for it is a swiffer with the dusting pads. They will pick up a ton of it before you have to change pads.
Thank you, I really hope yours gets finished. It was the biggest chore of this whole thing was moving all this stuff. Ya never realize how much ya have till ya have to pile it somewhere other than where it goes. But now that it's all back it definitely is not being moved again haha 😆

I had termites years ago in a house my ex and I owned. They do a lot of damage before you see them. Great job on the remodel.

You’ll be glad you painted after all, you’ll have a nice fresh clean house. I’ll make you all feel good. We need to paint kitchen, and our bathroom. We have unfortunately panel in all the rooms in our house and I just dislike it with a passion, don’t care what type of paneling it is I just don’t like it. Just like plain regular walls, so..a person can paint the colors you want. Your rooms are coming along. And looking awesome.
Oh I am with you, I dislike paneling. I also never liked plain boring white (antique white) walls. I love color and decorating with color. I am glad that we were able to change the walls also. The flooring would have looked plain next to the plain white walls.
