This quick and easy project is exactly what you need if you’re about to be scrambling to find the perfect gift for family and friends! Some people say gift cards are impersonal, but I disagree. To me, gift cards make a great gift! Guarantees that the receiver is going to get something that they’ve wanted or needed.
To make my gift card giving extra special, I always put it in a fun handmade card! The envelopes that stores give for gift cards are super boring. So let’s step it up and make this special gift card holder.
For this project, I’m designing the easy gift card holder using holiday printed papers. But don’t limit yourself to thinking this is just a Christmas card to make! You will love this easy gift card holder and I hope that you save it to use all year long. It’s perfect not only for holiday gift-giving, but for birthdays, showers, babies, weddings, and any other special occasion!
I always keep my card making projects super simple. If you like to “fancy them up” you could easily add layers, stamping, embellishments, and more to this card layout! All I’m showing you is how to make the gift card holder. So let your creativity shine through to design the front of the card!

This is awesome and incredibly clever but MY problem is that now the gift cards are coming to the store BIGGER. Grandson wants a "Steam" card, Son-in-law wants X-Box, and they measure 3 1/2" X 5"! That is twice the size of most gift cards and the holders people design. The Amazon card I bought is also that size. The times, they are a-changin'!
I had that problem this year, I had to take them out of their outer packaging to get them to fit.
Oh no! I haven't personally come across buying large gift cards. But wow, those sound huge! What's the point of making them SO big?

Very nice card. May I ask what size punch you used for the tab?
I actually grabbed the smallest circle punch I had which was probably an old 1" punch. But you can use any size or any shape to just snip a little tab in!

Most of the gift cards I get are inside of cardboard packaging. I have not seen a gift card holder that will fit those. Have you made one?
