Love that you mentioned not being afraid to speak one's own version of Cantonese or worry that it's not perfect. In college, I finally met some canto friends and I want to talk to them in canto. I'm ABC, so I know it's not perfect but I'm happy to just be able to converse with them. Sometimes it's scary knowing I may be wrong, but at least I tried! Enjoy watching your videos since I don't get to listen to canto too often.
💬 *Is speaking Cantonese with people outside your family tough for you? Share your story with me and the community!* I've definitely been there and it's definitely not easy. With a good mindset and practice, you can get past it and speak Cantonese with confidence!
Actually, everyone including my family say I speak Cantonese in a funny way 😅 I've been watching your videos and I feel a little more confident. The conversational tone of the content and the Cantonese subs really help!
From an intermediate ABC perspective I find I remember phrases/words more with Brittany doing these videos with casual real conversations than other canto videos just keep repeating phrases.
I respect what you said about not have to be perfect in Cantonese before you speak it. Nobody is perfect even I who was born in HK. Language always keep changing anyway.. Love you both 👍👍👍
mmmm! looks delicious! my mom usually uses kabocha squash rather than the “halloween” pumpkin haha. you should try it with the kabocha squash next time! 😋😋
omg i was just waiting to watch something with my pumpkin sago dessert and i see this!! glad to know how its made because i also have sago and pumpkins lying in my house XD
Your pumpkin sago looks so legit! Jared makes a good point. It would make a great fusion thanksgiving dinner treat! I also like getting these Naam gwaa baos
Looks good! I think the Turkey jook would have been easier to make haha. My Cantonese is definitely not perfect but I have to use it for work so I have no choice. It does force me to practice and improve my Chinese though. Most people appreciate you trying to speak the same language especially when they are monolingual. If I don’t know a certain term, I would explain what it is and usually they understand me. Keep up the good work!

You and Jared 😭🤙 looks yummy!
We've had a leftover pumpkin on our countertop for like a month now, guess I know what to do with it!
Let us know how it goes!
New dogs ! Are they Z's friends?
they are Jared’s family dogs :) they are Z’s little friends for sure 🤗
I hate cutting the pumpkin skin as it hard so my late mum told me to steam it then the skin can easily peel off
