Why on earth is the press losing their minds over Catherine's Mother's Day photo? First came the foolish rumors regarding Catherine's "disappearance," now, the absolute hysteria over a tweaked photo. Who cares? I am speechless at how stupid people can be!
This is all the royal family's fault. They stubbornly starved the press for information on Kate so the media created a fiasco so they would have something to report on. The reporters have deadlines they have to meet to get paid. All the royals needed to do was to release a one-minute video or at least a press release of her saying thanks for all the well wishes and that she's recovering nicely.
Princess Catherine hasn’t put a foot wrong for years. The furore over a simple family photo is nothing more than pandering to the Megan Markle Brigade. It stands out a mile and the press should hold their horses till or if ever they have something solid to criticise. We women love the fact that a member of the RF is good at something in their own right and not just a vehicle for press fodder.

I'm not British but I have to say I'm really shocked at how the UK media has treated Catherine the past few days - absolutely disgraceful. I hope there are some serious consequences for those media reporters and outlets that come from this and I hope the general public made plenty of complaints...this bullying of her should not be tolerated.
I'm sickened by it. Some might share their every bodily function online, the right to privacy seems to be something they're driven to give away and overshare, however many of us still value ours! It wasn't an Official Photograph!! It was posted on their Social media. They have every right to post their own pictures on their own Social media. We have no right to know anyone's private medical information.

It would have been very stressful in her condition to have to comply to an arrangement. I'm sure she has good and bad days. I'm sick of the British press bullying Catherine. They have been doing it for year's. It started before she and William got married and has gone on since. They've become worse since Catherine went into hospital, even though we were all told that she wouldn't be available for royal engagements until after Easter. Non of us need to know the full details of Catherine's operation or her health records. We just need to know that she is recovering well, and will be back with us soon. Perhaps those of us who buy and subscribe to these bullying publications should write to the editors and tell them if the bullying doesn't stop, we will unsubsribe and stop buying their publications. Let’s remember Duchess Catherine was asked by Queen Elizabeth II to take a photo of her with her grandchildren, which was released by the palace. She was also asked by Queen Camilla to take her photo for a magazine cover, which did appear on the cover. She has also taken a photo of King Charles which was also released and one of his favorites. I believe Catherine has the right to place a family photo on her and Williams family site. I think Meghan is behind this whole tempest in a teacup. If she has the power to get people fired from their jobs, she certainly is capable of doing this as well. Can we please take a breathe, let Catherine recover and stop bullying her.

I think this is why it was done. To analyse all photo's moving forward, including Meghan and Prince Harry's. Maybe the press/main stream media are angry, if there are restrictions currently in place preventing them on reporting certain truths as has been alleged, when these truths are revealed it isn't going to look great for main stream media, the fact they are clearly restricted in their reporting, there will be questions as to why if it involves the line of succession surely?!

I have no time for the kind of ignorami that do not realise what the alternative to a functioning monarchy would be: 'President Blair', 'President Khan' or even worse still 'President Corbyn'. Also I cannot be doing with people who indulge in the politics of envy. The Monarchy is great for trade and tourism and has brought a wealth of money into this country just by their public appearances alone. For your information, each taxpayer is taxed the price of a large bag of crisps, per YEAR, to pay for the monarchy. We waste taxpayers' money on far worse like harbouring criminals from abroad and billions spent on housing illegal migrants while our own go without, not to mention the money sent abroad via foreign aid, which often ends up in the pockets of despots. Look at the millions we shelled out on a DAILY basis to that money pit, the ghastly EU in order to fund vanity projects abroad. I think Lady C's advice is meant kindly as a means of keeping the formal distance the RF has maintained with the world under the reign of the late queen - Charles should be imposing this regime as the monarch like his very astute mother before him.

For goodness sake, leave Catherine alone. She needs peace to recover. She is a lovely woman and a great mother and future Queen. The press are bullying her and it is not fair and it is incredibly cruel. Catherine has three young children and they need to be protected and whatever the details of her surgery are, the press would no doubt exaggerate and make it dramatic which could affect her children extremely badly. Patient confidentiality is extremely important in the UK and no one wants the details of their operation to be blasted round the neighbourhood. Catherine should be given privacy and peace so she can make a good recovery.

I think the media are torqued at the silence regarding Princess Catherine's health status and were looking for any opportunity to take a shot (figuratively) at her. Shame on them for taking a delightful family photo, dissecting it and, on the basis of non-essential editing, accusing her of dishonesty. It smacks of childish revenge in the absence of H&M leaks on which they depended for so long. They also didn't like that the photo was private and no media were able to breach royal protection. They were demanding a photo and one was provided but not on their terms. The children were obviously laughing at something going on behind the camera, a response to a loving father and not a greedy media.

This is one of the most absurd and blatant instances of sheer, contrived instances of bullying by the press I've witnessed in a very long time. They act like preschoolers. I have lost a great deal of respect for these psuedo reporters. When the AP reporter announces that there has been "evidence of altering of the photo of the Wales" so they are withdrawing the photo, it sounded like they had uncovered a plot to overthrow the government. The absolute silliness of this whole nonevent created by the press is staggering. The sanctimonious attitude as if they are bastions of truth uncovering a diabolical plot of a mother editing a single photo of her children ever so slightly that changed nothing in regards to the state of mother and children bespeaks of an almost evil intent to harm her reputation. Why? Why would they do that? I "manipulate" and "doctor" all my photos! Oh, no! I didn't realize that EDITING A FAMILY PHOTO TO FIX SOME MINIR DETAILS IS A SERIOUS OFFENSE!! Sadly, were the Wales' to release only professional photos they'd be criticized for being 'snooty', controlling and uptight perfectionists. In my unprofessional opinion the mistakes in the photo of the Wales' for Mother's Day were simple misalignments. As far as I know they weren't photoshopped to add or change features. Princess Catherine has given her all over the past years, to do her duty and show love and kindness to everyone she meets. She is a credit to our country. Hence so much more disgusting, when she needs support, the Media turn on her like this. I have been hugely encouraged tho by the comments everywhere by the normal folk, defending her.

What about Meghan's pregnancy photo with Harry, in a field, which the photographer, across the Atlantic, edited in a massive tree (to represent the Tree of Life) to give the photo a magical quality. Now they, and their minions, are attacking Catherine for making subtle tweaks to the family's Mother's Day photo? This is really pathetic. I really hope that the media leave Catherine alone and let her recover in peace.

Lady C - I couldn't disagree more. William hated always having professional photographers in his face, and is keeping his kids from unnecessary exposure to those people. A simple birthday photo or Mother's Day photo doesn't need to be professional. I quite enjoy the relaxed nature of Catherine's photos. None of them would be that relaxed with a professional photographer in their face each time.

I have to disagree that the Waleses made a grave "mistake"- it must be utterly stifling to live under this degree of scrutiny, judgment and restriction. Not every photo has to be a professional "official" photo....that's ridiculous. This has been a very sad reflection on certain aspects of society and ably stoked by the usual suspects. Having had life changing abdominal surgery myself, I feel so sad that the Princess of Wales is not having the peace and rest she needs to heal whilst all this furore is going on. Years ago, my late father was a rather prominent figure in the local community and my procedure was mentioned in a local publication. I was very upset but there was nothing I could do because it was my mother in law who broke my confidentuality. I felt it set back my recovery. It must be a thousand times worse for the Princess of Wales. She has done so much for her charities whilst brightening 28:00 up the royal family that she must surely deserve some R&R. Goodness knows, she’s earned it. Her life may have changed in some ways and she needs time to heal both physically and emotionally. God grant her the time to do both.
I think the best way forward is to go no contact. Period. No more news or updates. No more photos until it's a public engagement. Catherine should only have her photo taken for public consumption when performing public duties. Nothing else. One professional photo per year at Christmas and nothing else gets released to the public. There are two sides to every sword.
Interestingly, Misan Harriman’s photo of Meghan and Harry announcing she was pregnant with Lily, taken in the garden was photoshopped. Misan said he photoshopped in the tree, and there are odd numbers of toes etc. YET, it appears on the Getty website, which says it does not accept doctored images. How can that be?

They need to inform about hospital stays. Those have been reported also previously. Diagnosis have not been published earlier. Charles made here an exception, which I taught was great. Unfortunately, the media has now got the idea that they are entitled to all royals diagnosis, and therefore Charles openness has turned to be a huge problem. I'm very proud of Princess Catherine, that she has made her own choice and not given up even if the pressure is huge. She has right to privacy.

This is all the royal family's fault. They stubbornly starved the press for information on Kate so the media created a fiasco so they would have something to report on. I'm sick of the British press bullying Catherine. They have been doing it for year's. It started before she and William got married and has gone on since. They've become worse since Catherine went into hospital, even though we were all told that she wouldn't be available for royal engagements until after Easter. Non of us need to know the full details of Catherine's operation or her health records. We just need to know that she is recovering well, and will be back with us soon. Perhaps those of us who buy and subscribe to these bullying publications should write to the editors and tell them if the bullying doesn't stop, we will unsubsribe and stop buying their publications. They need our readership and money to stay in business.

Catherine has three young children and they need to be protected and whatever the details of her surgery are, the press would no doubt exaggerate and make it dramatic which could affect her children extremely badly. Patient confidentiality is extremely important in the UK and no one wants the details of their operation to be blasted round the neighbourhood. Catherine should be given privacy and peace so she can make a good recovery.

I think the media are torqued at the silence regarding Princess Catherine's health status and were looking for any opportunity to take a shot (figuratively) at her. Shame on them for taking a delightful family photo, dissecting it and, on the basis of non-essential editing, accusing her of dishonesty. It smacks of childish revenge in the absence of H&M leaks on which they depended for so long. They also didn't like that the photo was private and no media were able to breach royal protection. They were demanding a photo and one was provided but not on their terms. The children were obviously laughing at something going on behind the camera, a response to a loving father and not a greedy media.

This is one of the most absurd and blatant instances of sheer, contrived instances of bullying by the press I've witnessed in a very long time. They act like preschoolers. I have lost a great deal of respect for these psuedo reporters. When the AP reporter announces that there has been "evidence of altering of the photo of the Wales" so they are withdrawing the photo, it sounded like they had uncovered a plot to overthrow the government. The absolute silliness of this whole nonevent created by the press is staggering. The sanctimonious attitude as if they are bastions of truth uncovering a diabolical plot of a mother editing a single photo of her children ever so slightly that changed nothing in regards to the state of mother and children bespeaks of an almost evil intent to harm her reputation. Why? Why would they do that? I "manipulate" and "doctor" all my photos! Oh, no! I didn't realize that EDITING A FAMILY PHOTO TO FIX SOME MINIR DETAILS IS A SERIOUS OFFENSE!! I and all my family friends acquaintances crop, edit every photo we send out. These options are on every cell phone. Why is this wrong? Every photographer who takes a picture of people will edit which means the evil sounding word manipulate. I still can't see the changes. What questions has it raised? What? What possible conspiracy? A simple birthday photo or Mother's Day photo doesn't need to be professional. I quite enjoy the relaxed nature of Catherine's photos. I feel like crying & this hasn’t even happened to me. I have to disagree that the Waleses made a grave "mistake"- it must be utterly stifling to live under this degree of scrutiny, judgment and restriction. Not every photo has to be a professional "official" photo....that's ridiculous. This has been a very sad reflection on certain aspects of society and ably stoked by the usual suspects. I'm embarrassed for them all. Poor Catherine and family - this must be so stressful when she is trying to recover from a major operation. Ultimately, this whole thing is The Queen's fault. When Sparry informed the Queen that he intended to marry Walmart Wallis, he made the threat that if she didn't give him her blessing, Sparry would go to the press & announce that the Queen's refusal was because the Royal Family is racist. So, the Queen, fearing that the race card would be played against her, buckled to the pressure instead of sticking to her guns & refusing to allow him to marry someone who was SO unilaterally unsuited to the position. She should have been strong enough to tell him NO, but it seems that NO ONE has ever told the spoiled, little man-child no in his entire life. Having had life changing abdominal surgery myself, I feel so sad that the Princess of Wales is not having the peace and rest she needs to heal whilst all this furore is going on. Years ago, my late father was a rather prominent figure in the local community and my procedure was mentioned in a local publication. I was very upset but there was nothing I could do because it was my mother in law who broke my confidentuality. I felt it set back my recovery. It must be a thousand times worse for the Princess of Wales. She has done so much for her charities whilst brightening 28:00 up the royal family that she must surely deserve some R&R. Goodness knows, she’s earned it. Her life may have changed in some ways and she needs time to heal both physically and emotionally. God grant her the time to do both.

I think the best way forward is to go no contact. Period. No more news or updates. No more photos until it's a public engagement. Catherine should only have her photo taken for public consumption when performing public duties. Nothing else. One professional photo per year at Christmas and nothing else gets released to the public. There are two sides to every sword.

Interestingly, Misan Harriman’s photo of Meghan and Harry announcing she was pregnant with Lily, taken in the garden was photoshopped. Misan said he photoshopped in the tree, and there are odd numbers of toes etc. YET, it appears on the Getty website, which says it does not accept doctored images. How can that be?

Diagnosis have not been published earlier. Charles made here an exception, which I taught was great. Unfortunately, the media has now got the idea that they are entitled to all royals diagnosis, and therefore Charles openness has turned to be a huge problem.
I'm very proud of Princess Catherine, that she has made her own choice and not given up even if the pressure is huge. She has right to privacy.

Good photographers are able to earn a living elsewhere, so that the argument that the Wales are depriving someone is rubbish. IMO, going forward, the Wales should never pose for official pictures again, nor share any pictures of their beautiful family.
