My 2006 v8 Explorer just threw P2008 which is same thing I believe, and shut down the motor while driving. It restarts no problem but just a note that the PCM will do emergency shut down with those P200x codes. Thanks SCPO.
Bro I have a 05 mustang gt 4.6 an I followed your video to do mine ...I read online to put the manifold bolts to 89foot pounds I snapped a bolt smh I referred back to your video an you even say don't go crazy only 14 fp 😢 I found a bolt to hold me off tell I order another an just did them hand tight but all an all it's running good now just have to wait an see if code comes back or not thanks for the video couldn't find much on replacing this part
At 1:43, when you talk about the "Runner actuator arms," how did you find them at the auto parts store? I've searched for those and can't seem to find them! Those are the only things I need to complete the job. I already have the whole runner control, but I need those 1 time only pieces...
I know this was awhile ago but I hope you can still help me out with a problem. I have a 2006 mustang GT, looks fairly similar to your intake and your IMRCV. I have no codes because I think it's still working like it's supposed to but my arms that connect to the valve are fairly loose and can wobble quite a bit. Is that normal? Or are they supposed to be pretty stiff when connected to the valve?
@hazegrayandunderway8077 awesome sounds great! I actually had some wires sitting down a little low, I think it was restricting it from opening properly. It's just been rattling every time I accelerate from low speeds. I might have to swap it out sadly
My problem was the Oil, i changed the fluid to a Ford Motorcraf 5w-20 and used a lucas synthetic oil stabilizer Pure syntetic. That solved my problem, my mustang just have 30,000 miles run, i bought it with 26,250 miles run and the last owner told that the car needed oil change. Hope this can help you.
I have the same codes and ford dealership wants 2500 and say I need a new manifold and everything but as you said it runs fine other than the light and maybe a little less power. Does that sound like they are bullshiting me? Because i don't see what in the manifold is broken if that black plastic box is the problem causing it
I don't know why they would say you need a new manifold, just that actuator box is all. Unless....they saw something else wrong. The part is like 250 or so. Labor will be probably 700, its probably closer to a grand just for the actuator repair, but that's just a guess. Good luck!
That's a good question. I don't know other than getting an inspection camera back behind there and seeing if the linkage moves when you start it. Its tight back there. The vehicle will still run fine with this code, mine did anyway. Unless someone has another idea, that's my only suggestion.

They seemed to have some play in them, a reasonable amount, but as long as the actuator opens the valves when commanded to do so, you’re fine.

Sorry, just saw your question. I'm sure you figured out the clips by now. They have generic ones at autozone or equivalent where you are.

You're fine, drive it. Just tough to sell the vehicle or get emissions (Colorado) with a check engine light
