    1 c + 2 tbs water
    2 tbs olive oil
    2 tbs sugar [keep the salt and sugar separate from the yeast] @3:54
    1 tsp salt
    3 Cups all purpose flour to avoid glutten development
    2 tsp active dry yeast. Create a well in the flour and add the yeast.
    Use the dough setting
    @ 8:47 work the dough into pizza shape after initial kneading.
    I searched restaurant videos and the tip from Bama Magz is consistent with the pro's videos--stretch don't use a rolling pin. I had no idea. So will stop. Thanks to both of you for the tips.

    I made this recipe and it came out great. I had to let it rise outside of my breadmaker (mine is smaller) but it was really nice to have the machine do all that kneading for me! It made the perfect dough. I split it into two smaller balls before rising in separate covered bowls. It made two rather large pizzas. It was fantastic.

    Thanx again Amy. It Worked a treat, luckily the little measuring jug that came with the machine had a cup measure on it as well. 1cup = Approx 8 fluid oz. Or 230 millilitres by volume. Didn't have any olive oil so used a nob of butter...lovely elastic quality dough that cooked a treat with a crusty base but still chewy...10 out of 10 from me.

    • @AmyLearnsToCook
      @AmyLearnsToCook  10 років тому +2

      Bill Billings Great! It is good to hear that your measuring cup worked good. This recipe is so great because it works every time. I've never had it fail. Just a tip: if you use a rolling pin on pizza dough it knocks out the air bubbles in the pizza..something the pizza needs in order to cook like they do in pizzerias. The best thing to do is to stretch it into shape

    This may seem like a silly question, but can the dough be stored in the fridge? I was just wondering, because it takes an hour and a half in my machine to make the dough. A lot of times at the end of the work day, I don't have time to wait an hour and a half to make the dough. If I could make a couple of batches to store in the fridge or freezer that would be great.

      +Lisa G You can try it without sugar. It will be a lean dough (tho you still have the olive oil) and it might rise slower. You might also have to play with the oven temp because I have the temp down to 350 because doughs with sugar tend to have faster development and will brown faster. It also might not be as soft. Try it out and let me know how it turns out.

      You probably would have to adjust the hydration.

      +Shannon Gill Sorry. We have a lot of videos linked on our website, but not all of them. We are in the process of creating a new one, that includes pretty pictures and a recipe database. We will make a big deal when it's available including a video of what it looks like and Tweets. Thank you for watching and commenting.

      +Shannon Gill Thanks for the sub!!! I am working on the site slowly...hopefully it will be up soon! I am learning to cook and to make videos and do the website myself. It is funny how every little thing on it takes me forever to figure out and setup!! :)...but the framework of it is done I am just adding the content now.

    how long does the dough cycle take in the bread machine? And What temp do you cook the pizza, for how long?

    • @AmyLearnsToCook
      @AmyLearnsToCook  10 років тому +3

      I have a Breadman Ultimate and the dough cycle is 1 1/2 hours. I cooked the pizza at 350 because I rolled it kinda thick. The thinner you roll it, the hotter you can have your oven. If you like a really thin, crisp dough, you can roll it really thin and cook it hot...even on the BBQ. It is a very versatile dough. The amount of time depends on the size of your pizza. I made a big rectangular pizza and I cooked it around 25 - 30 min. If you make it into two or three smaller pizzas, it wouldn't take that long. Play around with it. Start at 350 and set it for about 20 minutes and then start watching it. The dough is great because you can make it different every time.

      I'm new to my bread maker and didn't know the dough cycle would b so long so our dinner was really late but, We made a medium sized pizza with a fairly thick crust and a thin medium sized pizza out of this recipe and they were awesome, we made a homemade sauce and everything was better than the pizza parlor, Best ever!! thanks so much!

    I have looked at a number of your videos, most in 2021 or later, but several deal with stand mixers (KitchenAid, Hobart, Ankarsrum, etc.) and you have used these for making dough among other things. if a person's interest was mainly dough related (whether for bread, or pizza, or etc.) would there be any point in purchasing a mixer over a decent quality bread machine. True, a bread machine can't whip up egg whites, make whip cream, and the list goes on, but if DOUGH was your main interest (and that is actually one of the harder things to do even for a stand mixer) wouldn't a bread machine be an ideal method? Just curious about your opinion.
