Thanks for this video, it's super helpful. I have one clarification. For the PV calculation, I think the denominator is NDVImax - NDVImin instead of NDVImax + NDVImin. You used subtraction not addition when you did 1 - (-1) -> 1 + 1 = 2. Otherwise the denominator would be 0.
first of all you presented it very well sir. can you please explain the value of a and b in the emissivity formula like why those specific values you took? is there any specific method to determine the values of a and b based on different area and scene. in addition can you also explain the final LST formula specially the BT/1 and BT/14380 part! like again if there is a specific value of denominator based on different scene.
sir, while calculating pv where the formula is ((NDVI-NDVImin)/(NDVImax+NDVImin)).....where you have used the values as (NDVI image+1)/(1+1)....in the second part y it is (1+1)? as we have the negative value as minimum NDVI as - - is understable that it will become + but when it -+ so how it became +?
My NDVImin nad NDVI max are not 1 and -1, it is somewhere (-0.3 and +0.56) in that case, for PV calculation.. should i enter these numbers as max min or 1 and -1 only?
Bahi 64 degree temp. is impossible.Till now the highest temp. record in the world is only 56.7 degree.. I think your estimation is wrong. If not then plz do clear me.
@@vikasghadamode my concern was that is it ok to use both the bands or only single band will give us the desired results? Anyways your video is helpful though 👍
bt in india will der be 64 degree temperature? mine is also showing like that so.. mine its showing 67 degrre high nd 37 degree low for bangalore urban? is it possible?
sir, I have a problem when I am trying it in Landsat 5 image, the lower and upper temp.is calculated (-67 deg C) and 142 deg c. after clipping the AOI the temp. is measured 113.27 and 118.437 deg c approximately. Will the constant value change? If so, please tell me the constant values used in the case of Emissivity and LST, at the time of calculation.
When using LANDSAT 4/5/7 use the single channel algorithm whilst LANDSAT 8/9 use the split method as there are two thermal bands(10 and 11).Different methods are used to calculate the LST.
@@annrotich7508 I am trying to calculate LST. But the algorithms are giving very high values of temperature while using Landsat 8 Level 2 data. Whereas L1 is giving correct results. So, which data (L1 or L2) should I use ? Which data is best to use ?
Sir, if you kindly tell me the conversion process of the Radiance Multiplicative value of band 10 (3.3420E - 04 = 0.0003342), I'll be grateful. Thank you in advance.

Sir the value of W that is 10.8
Is it given in meta data ?
Sir, do we need to make separate maps to see LST change in time interval?
Should we clip the study area in the beginning?
If you wish to clip in beginning you can clip no problem
Which algorithm it is ? mono window algorithm ? single channel algorithm ? or split window algorithm ?
pls which algorithm is it ?
Wrong prosess, but right answer.
Is this calculation required for level 2 products?
while calculating PV, as NDVI min value is in negative this becomes +1 in numerator but not -1 is denominator. reason!!

Very good.....
You made mistake in basic math. that's why LST became 64 degree celcius. Human brain would come out through nose in 64 degree..
Why can't we use both the bands i.e 10&11 for calculating LST from Landsat 8 data ??

You have to use low reflectance value to calculate lst of landsat 5 band (low 0. High 150 aproximatly ). Then your lst is fine

once I input the formula it's showing error 000539.
This error could occur if the output filename is too long or if the "Spatial Analyst" extension is not enabled.
THE IS NEGATIVE SIGN IN BOTH SIDE OF THE FORMULA
Why I got ERROR 000539 while calculating LST?
Do it again. N don't change the output folder let it be the default one... Restart app n try...
