Coming up, it’s been almost a month since R. Kelly’s sex trafficking and racketeering trial started, and has featured testimony from more than 10 alleged victims.
Today, the jury watched footage and listened to audio tapes introduced into evidence by the prosecution. Press and members of the public could neither see nor hear the tapes, or even see the jury's reaction to them playing.
Tony Thedford, civil rights lawyer and president of the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, joins Tewolde on “Making the Case” to offer his insight.

I have a cousin (James Shelton of Acworth,Ga) who was molesting one of his younger sisters for years, and his mom knew about it but did nothing. When I mentioned it to my grandma, I got punished and told to shut my mouth. He works at Children's Hospital in Atlanta as a respiratory therapist, y'all watch over your kids, there are predators out there.

- Forced her to perform explicitly and show her face.
- Forced her to go to the garage and isolated her.
- Restricted her calls and who she could speak to.
- He also said he raised her which corroborates their story about raising and grooming minors.

He has child pornography charges in the NY case, yet the prosecution has presenting no video evidence of child porn. Why? Because they never had evidence of child porn to begin with. Makes one wonder what happened to that R Kelly sex tape the black couple found in their attic that Gloria Allred supposedly turned over to the EDNY back in early 2019. Unless she met him when she was 15 getting ready to turn 16 but, she's still not going to be 3 different ages in one year. I believe all the girls after that trial was the age of consent. They have to look at Kelly was in his late 20s early 30s 20 plus years ago. You can't double jeopardy someone like that to keep bringing up their past from 20 years ago. They need to stay on the present people with present charges. In order for those type of crime to be committed it has to be seeked out and forced upon by the predator not the victim. Where there is smoke there is fire... People have been locked up for less with only circumstantial evidence.
