a blunt is when you slide on the back side of your skis just like a skateboard or a snowboard blunt your leaning on one side of your board or skis while sliding a rail, I've tried them myself and they are very difficult and wayyy harder than they look, and yes clayton vila is a very good skateboarder who is actually sponsored i believe, his skiing emulates his skateboarding greatly
Their are already tricks called tail presses and nose presses, you just do those facing forward(or switch), they are the equivalent to a nosegrind or a 5-0 on a skateboard. treat the bindings like trucks and slide sideways with the rail/box under in front or behind the bindings, then you have a nose blunt or regular blunt. it would be confusing if people called different tricks the same name.
so then why is it a tailbutter or a tailpress or a tailblock and not bluntbutter, bluntpress, bluntblock? because the whole back part of the ski do that, and then it would just make sens to call it the same... on the other hand it would make sense to have tailslides exist, those actually are really hard but possible... about your defintion of bluntslide: a blunt is when you approach a rail with your back to it, pop over it and slide on your tail of your skateboard...
lol clayton in general is a freestyler, a skier, but a skateboarder in that term, no. he likes doing it, but I doubt he's seriously sponsored for doing it. don't get me wrong but blunts by definition just don't work in skiing/snbrd (no trucks to tell from where on it's a boardslide and where the tail/nose is plus no difficulty in lifting trucks over something)... let's call it tail-/nosepress, because that's what a blunt is an attempt to... then again you never can go so shure if it's true tail
those blunts... they're just not a trick haha... like seriousely... everytime someone claims to do a blunt, it's just a slide rather on your heels/toes... haha
almost every freeskier skates for fun... and gets inspiration from there... but I find bluntslides stupid, since then you the rail should be inbetween the concave of your tails and the binding. your heels are not allowed to be over the rail (since that is where the skate trucks would be on a skateboard, if we're talking about that), but that's what they are in every. fucking. "bluntslide".
do you skate? do you know where the definitions come from? If so, it would be a shame of you to believe this is a true blunt... it just sounds better than "skislide" or "take that rail" or something haha
0:26 switch lip blunt... at least shea don't know shit about skate slang terminology.... a "switch lip blunt" is actually a switch nose blunt (of course the slide is still a slide on the tail on a skateboard, but why not apply that to skis?) you see where this leads... you just can't mix those two up, especially since there are no trucks that would define an exact tail... (had to write this in 3 comments, youtube limits...)
Will there ever be the final?
I guess not
This series has been great to watch. Good job Stept and all the skiers. Now who will win?
