    Good review guy, I like the form factor of this light, different then typical lights

    I'd rather be able to remove the battery to charge it in my own charger, which is much more efficient and will keep the batteries lasting longer than a cheap unit stuffed in the light. So I appreciate the traditional design of the P18.

    Just a great light all around once you understand all the features, the run times are impressive!

      I currently use the Olight warrior mini. However, I think that having a red led light available on an edc flashlight is very important and as soon as I find something just as bright and powerful with a long lasting battery and a red led I will swap the warrior mini for it. I dislike flashlights that require the battery to be removed in order to charge them.

    When the red light is on, press and hold to get the battery indicator. It'll flash in two sequences to correspond with the current voltage -- *flash flash flash* *flash flash flash flash flash* would equate to 3.5V of juice remaining

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  5 років тому +2

      Yes indeed this is a fact. I left it out as personally I didnt find it very useful. Not that others wouldnt but with so many flashlight companies are doing this when it's easier to keep the light charged and monitor use because honestly I'll forget
      Which buttons to press within a week 😂👍🏼 🔦 especially after I review 10 more lights. Do you have the P18? If not what is your go to flashlight?

    They missed the mark slightly with this flashlight, right idea but configuration of tail switch, red light switch and clip are wrong. Red light needs to be on the other side and closer to the top as when holding it the red light gets pressed. The tail switch is awkward to press as rather than a hammer grip you have to hold it in your fingers only with no palm. And no recharging, USB-C or micro, big let down.

    It does not stay at 1800 lumens for 30 minutes the temperature regulation steps down to 850 Lumen after a couple of minutes if I remember correctly

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  4 роки тому

      You can use just the 1,800 lumen mode for up to 30 minutes. Yes the temperature regulator does kick on after a while so that runtime is not consecutive. However, you can use the 1,800 lumens for up to 30 minutes total if you wait for it to cool down and then turn it back on again. 👍🔦😉

    Too bad it doesn't have the "strobe-ready" function like other nitecores (Kinda like the P20 that I have owned, or the P20i which I currently own and carry everyday), for me is really it's only downsize, otherwise great flashlight. I feel like if they add this function (an perhaps a charging port for battery) it would probably kick the crap out of the stiletto pro hands down.

  • @MrFordguy73

    Is there a way to go straight to 1 lumen mode? I like having that function.
