For every day use the 5.7 on regular fuel has been great. I often get mileage in the high 20s and sometimes in the low 30s on highway runs. We are not in the 70s any more. Joe, Thanks for the honest and through review of the Dodge Charger RT; I watched it several times! I was deliberating between a 2023 Ford Mustang Ecoboost HPP and a Dodge Charger RT or Scat Pack. I watched multiple videos on each car, by different You Tube reviewers, before making my final decision. Your reviews on each car were the most thorough and detail oriented. I decided on a 2023 Dodge Charger, in the RT trim. Yes, the Scat Pack...and the Mustang Ecoboost HPP, are faster in stock form. But, as you said in your Charger RT video, the RT is a better "Daily Driver" than the Scat Pack (and probably better than the Mustang too), which is exactly what I want. A sedan is more practical for me as an everyday driver than the Mustang Ecoboost HPP...even though the RT's gas mileage will be worse than the Mustang and slower than both the Mustang and the Scat Pack. I went back-and-forth between the RT and Scat Pack; ultimately, I decided the cost of the extra HP and torque of the Scat Pack did not merit the additional cost ($7K in my Scat Pack build), due to the lack of opportunity to utilize the Scat Pack's extra HP and torque as a daily driver and the fact I have no intentions of racing the car or taking the car to a track. I ordered a 2023 Dodge Charger RT in B5 Blue with the Plus Group, Technology Package, and the Performance Handling Group; the only options I wished I could have added as factory options are a limited slip 3:09 rear end differential and 275 MM tires all around. I will add both of these options as after market additions to my RT for at/about $3K, after the initial break in period of my RT is completed and the RT will be, in my opinion, a near perfect daily driver. Again, thanks for the great review of the Charger RT; your honest analysis of the car's ability to perform as a great daily driver with classic muscle car sound and enough power to have "spirited fun" in a safe manner, while not resulting in the car's rear end "wagging all over the place like a dog" in a dangerous manner, were excellent points and much appreciated. I can't wait to pick up my B5 Blue RT in a few months! :)
I was in this very predicament about a year ago having to decide between a scat pack charger and a Stinger GT it’s tough. Overall best bang for your buck I have to say the Stinger Gt wins every time. The Stinger GT maybe not have the power of a scat pack or the obnoxious v8 rumble so many of us have to come to love…..but in the end the performance along with the styling and reliability of the Stinger make the Stinger the best choice. I still would absolutely love to have a scatty but reliability is more important right now to me.
Yet you'll still be trying to get off the line while I'm halfway down the 1/4 already...Dodge's are highly overrated, and this is coming from a Mopar guy who owns a Stinger lol
The new car "shortage" won't last forever. If you have dealers in your area jacking up prices just don't buy from them. Some customers have long memories.
Any Mopar products with the 5.7 especially a Charger or Challenger is ABSOLUTELY honorable! 370 horsepower is fit for LITERALLY any day. Daily driver for the weekdays, and then track/fun car on the weekends. I'm glad that people along with Dodge thought of that, and thank you for making this video!
I loved my 15 Challenger RT … I mean I really loved!!! Never thought I’d trade it for a KIA STINGER GT2😱😱😱… I miss the V8 rumble I’m a V8 guy. But I needed to go 4dr and the prices for these Dodges in 2021, no im not doing not when I know they’re inflated prices it’s Insane!!! I love my Kia but if you need a car to seat more than 4 get the Charger!!! The stinger wins in day to day chill riding but has the sport mode that lets you GOOO! The stinger absolutely kills the Dodge in tuning. I mean a chip($1100) and some intakes and I’m hanging with 392s and actually beating them off the jump. Now the Dodge is probably the car ya pass down to your kids tho. I’ll own another when I’m ready for a Hellcat
@@Benscarreviews you would've loved the one I traded in for my scat, front splitter, rear diffuser, corsa catback extreme, k&n intake and lowered an inch front and back
I recent picked up a GT Limited Stinger (AWD). I was in the market for a 4 door car that can be fun, but also have room for the family. The warante is amazing. You can go awd or rwd. Interior is great, cheap in some ways but still good. Very uncommon car that gets attention. Brembos. Its is a new car and has its flaws like the launch control (doesnt build boost for a sports car??) But a breaksnip fixes it easy. Really easy to mod and unmod to do dealership stuff and make 500 to the wheels.
This is coming from a Mopar guy: I had a 2021 RT Daytona on order, and cancelled it and got a 2022 Stinger GT Elite 3.3L AWD instead...and can tell you the Stinger destroys the RT, in looks, value and performance. Dodge's interior is dated as hell; the Stinger is a mix of BMW+Audi+Mercedes for the interior. The exterior gets me mistaken for a Maserati a lot. 8.4" screen vs 10.5", Brembo's vs not, flat bottom steering wheel vs not, shitty acceleration vs...not lol. Get a Stinger and you won't be disappointed
Highly disagree. I’ve driven both (among others) and went with the Stinger for obvious reasons. The ONLY thing a charger has going for it is the V8 sound and the R/T’s sound is even subpar compared to even a Scatpack. But compare them as cars in general, Stinger wins hands down in looks, speed, acceleration, handling, practicality, luxury. Plus with a modified exhaust, the Stinger sounds great. Stinger will also last a heck of a lot longer than any Charger as well. There is almost no turbo lag so idk what that’s about and “light steering”? try taking the car out of Eco and Comfort mode then get back to us. I used to not care for Kia until i drove the Stinger. Best car purchase i’ve ever made “so far”.
@@ejmich8136 About a second difference between them. I bought my RT because I got a great deal on it used. No way I would pay the 43k sticker price it was new. Between the GT and Scat Pack I would probably go with the Dodge but GT and RT isn't even a race until Dodge either adds power to the 5.7 or introduces some forced induction or electrification.
Joe, I’m looking at the Scat Pack. I’ve seen your reviews on them. The R/T is nice to but it seems like the 6.4 has more torque. You’ve driven both. Your opinion?
My dad had a 6.1 and a 6.4 Charger, and I have a 5.7 Challenger RT. IMO it depends on what you're' doing with the car, if you're storing it, budget, and options. 6.4 is a monster, limited modability. Can get the widebody option with 305 tires for better traction, which you will need. Super low ground clearance, roughly 3 to 4 inches if I recall correctly. Requires premium fuel, stiffer ride than the 5.7, 0-60mh in 4.2 seconds. The 5.7 still sounds great, still has plenty of pull. Does not require premium fuel unless you get a 6 speed. Can be optioned to have similar performance equipment as the scat, although you can't get 6 piston brembos, only the 4 piston Loads of options and can be up to roughly 600RWHP safely, if you want to do a build. 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds. I loved the 6.4 my dad had, it was incredibly fast and so much fun. My 5.7 is still an amazing ride, very comfortable and plenty of power. I don't race and daily drive my RT thru winters as well. You can do it with a 6.4 but the ground clearance might be an issue. Hope that helps! the 6.4 has 480hp and 470lbs torque. the 5.7 has 370hp and 395lbs torque. (For the Charger, slightly lower than the Challenger with the same powerplants)
Joe, Great video! As an all around daily driver, which would you choose...and why. A Dodge Charge R/T or a Mustang Ecoboost? I am weighing the "Pros and Cons" of both to try to decide. I know you have "lots of sear time in both." Any advice and/or assistance you may provide is appreciated. Thank you!
If there’s 1 plus that the Kia Stinger has over the Challenge is you can get the Stinger in AWD. For those where climate is an issue it good to have an AWD vehicle. However when it comes down to it, I would still take a Scatpack, Hellcat over the 5.7 hemi.
I’ll take a V-8 over a 6 cylinder turbo anytime. This car looks like a sports sedan when compared to a Stinger. My first new car was a 1970 Charger and I loved that car. Of course this is my opinion and some will go with the Stinger but for my money I’m a Charger guy.
Love the Indigo Blue. The blacked out package is also very attractive. The charger is a very attractive car for me personally but the stinger gt is more attractive. The v8 on the charger is preferable but you can get brembos on your stinger. You have to upgrade to a scat pack to get the brembos on the charger. The price on either the charger r/t or the stinger can vary a lot depending how you get them optioned. The stinger GT 0-60 time is around 4.5 seconds. Excellent review as always. 👍
That Dodge Charger is a beauty wherever you look at it, and that color is spectacular. Ok 370 HP more than enough for a track day, no traction control and no stability control, this is how you best enjoy an American muscle car, man and the beast, man and the car, the best team. Ok Raiti's Rides, very good job, good start to the week.🇦🇷
@@derekintrovert5619 only in v6 I’m fully aware of there line up stinger is v6 twin turbo the stinger is in the mid to high 4s when the rt 5.7 charger is in the mid to low 5 seconds
It's just that other car manufacturers are making cars that put out more horsepower than the RT. Yes Dodge do need to bump the horsepower up in the RT. At least 400 or 415 horsepower.
I had full leather on my previous charger RT it’s a nightmare during the summer I’m from California and it gets hot out here during the summer not a good combination with full leather seats
I’d say the RT and the stinger are pretty neck to neck if I’m being honest 🤔 just a few subtle differences here and there but the deciding factor for me has got to be the reliability in Kia’s these days so I would personally choose the stinger 😮💨
@@jeffreyzabawski4862 uh no? Read the reliability ratings from JD power and KBB, Kia comes out on top. I wish that was true tho cuz i personally prefer the v8 but I’d rather just go with the more reliable option instead
Not neck to neck at all. The Kia Stinger Gt has the Twin-turbo & awd advantage. 376lbs of torque. The kia will smoke it everytime as that turbo boosts, however a dodge with a turbo would easily keep up
Hey Joe I love the dodge charger but maybe the hellcat would be a better buy in my opinion. P.S. which one would you buy the charger or the challenger hellcat widebody.
With the Stinger, one has a stressed, turbocharged V6 versus a loping, easy going V8 in the Charger with NO TURBOS to replace. The V8 should last longer and have better maintenance. Finally, there is LESS TO BEEAK, which is always a plus, because there are no twin turbos, no twin intercoolers, and none of the associated piping to break or leak. You also get the V8 SOUND, versus a V6 "sound" in the Stinger. For my HARD EARNED money, it's Charger R/T all the way!!!!!!
Most definitely Joe. It’s better looking, it’s American muscle and the color scheme Dodge picks just makes it a top contender. I didn’t even mention the power and etc.
I mean, of COURSE he's gong to say buy the Charger, since every car lot everywhere has a dozen of them for sale at any given time. Most car lots never have Stingers. It's kind of a no-brainer that a car salesman will encourage you to buy what they always have on hand. I chose Stinger over Charger (and others) because it is so unique. I don't want a car everyone else has. Plus it's fun, reliable, and with the hatchback super practical. All while being beautiful.
@@joefather2463Well, it is a hatchback, not a sedan. I've never had a hatchback before, and it's amazing the size and amount of stuff I can fit in the car because of the hatchback and fold down seats. One trip I fit 2 oversizd swivel barstools with backs, a fake plant, and entire Costco haul, plus a Walmat trip... all in the back with room to spare!
If your only priority is straight line acceleration on a flat road and a noisemaker, the Charger is the choice. Want a true GT that goes around curves and a far more upscale interior, choose the Stinger.
I WILL SAY THIS TO THOSE THAT WANT THE R/T . In the summertime , if you have the sunroof please be careful . That screen will get hot asf and so hot that the glue will start to loose its grip and drip down the screen . Doing apple-car play will also heat up the screen as well . I have a 2014 AWD r/t and 2017 r/t , those screens need to be took extra care of !
Oh BTW, you have to step up to the scat pack or SRT trim levels to get the nice steering wheel.. Since it is just an RT, Dodge did not add the performance bits with that trim level and would be a waste for that car fyi
Thanks Joe and Lori…….great review and comparison. I’m thinking charger is just raw power vs stinger maybe a little more refined …….but I’ve never driven either one. Just a guess from me ! That blue looks great in the sun 🌞
A great second car but idk if you have ever driven a 350+ horsepower car. it can be a lot to handle when getting used to, just keep that in mind and be safe!
@@Mayseaux Oh yea then youre golden. The stinger and rt will feel lighter and looser though. Whatever you go with really just comes down to personal opinion.
That is so awesome! I am so glad that I could help you find the right car for you! You are going to love her!

I was looking for this review. Thanks man you are the best.
Do a yearly update for the new chargers ❤🙋♂️
You got it brother! Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Agreed plus the 100k/10 year warranty you can’t beat!
I think the opposite. Can't compare to a v8 rumble. The speed is negligent. Stingers have really bad turbo lag and the steering is to light.
@@ejmich8136 you’ve obviously never drove a stinger lol…
@@jordancameron2482 thank you! That helps a lot!

If there’s 1 plus that the Kia Stinger has over the Challenge is you can get the Stinger in AWD. For those where climate is an issue it good to have an AWD vehicle. However when it comes down to it, I would still take a Scatpack, Hellcat over the 5.7 hemi.
My vote is for the Stinger GT. It’s good that we have choices. I notice most of the comments are from diehard dodge, Chrysler, fans. To each his own.
Stinger GT RWD for me too bro 🙋🏿♂️
I’ll take a V-8 over a 6 cylinder turbo anytime. This car looks like a sports sedan when compared to a Stinger. My first new car was a 1970 Charger and I loved that car. Of course this is my opinion and some will go with the Stinger but for my money I’m a Charger guy.

That indigo is so beautiful, miss having an rt, the scat pack is fun but man did the rt purr too, had some get up and go!

The 392 motor checks all the boxes! It’s a nice step up if you’ve driven a R/T.
Thanks Joe & Lori, great review 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The stinger GT sits between the R/T and the scat pack in terms of fun to drive.
Great presentation and video work yet again. Thanks!
The RT is very nice. WOW!!
That is a beautiful car and awesome sounding V8. This car is way better than a stinger gt.
That Dodge Charger is a beauty wherever you look at it, and that color is spectacular.

It's just that other car manufacturers are making cars that put out more horsepower than the RT. Yes Dodge do need to bump the horsepower up in the RT. At least 400 or 415 horsepower.
Then they would have to bump up the scats to 585 horsepower

I’d say the RT and the stinger are pretty neck to neck if I’m being honest 🤔 just a few subtle differences here and there but the deciding factor for me has got to be the reliability in Kia’s these days so I would personally choose the stinger 😮💨

Not neck to neck at all. The Kia Stinger Gt has the Twin-turbo & awd advantage. 376lbs of torque. The kia will smoke it everytime as that turbo boosts, however a dodge with a turbo would easily keep up

Tyrique Ellison that car is ass and has problems
I agree more practical, looks better in my opinion and is faster
Got my stinger over a charger ill never go back
I like stingers a lot too but the rear end looks kinda odd to me. not necessarily in a bad way but if I was going off looks Ide probably go charger
