After listening to Truls Mørk with Welser-Most, I decided to look back at this old recording, live from the 60's. There is no better or worse, but quite a bit of difference!
Yes, it is a shame that the last movement is missing. As such, this now makes the Heinrich Schiff recording the best rendition of the Schumann. Schiff capture the 3 personalities, RaRo, Floristan, and Eusibius (in that order per movements), perfectly! No one else, not even Yo Yo Ma has accomplished this personality disorder so perfectly. Ashamed Mr. Schiff passed away so young.
The best??? It's certainly a beautiful performance. But what about the wonderful recordings by Fournier and by Starker, especially in his earlier version with Giulini conducting? And there are other interpretations one could name as well. De gustibus....
One is always entitled to his personal priority, but time changes a lot of things. One just doesn't expect a grader to love or enjoy a professor's speech however rich and interesting that may be.
@@fourstrings48 Agree. Fournier was Great. Also, Du Pre , beautiful. Today,there are no a cellists Like them. I now,because I'm a cellist too. My grandmother's uncle was his best friend. Cellist also. Now I have his cello .

the original lp was released in 1960. i have it & have loved the artist ever since
