  • Neil MacGregor and Valerie Michael began their leather working careers in Bristol in 1971, moving out to Tetbury, in 1974.
They make a range of men's and women's bags, luggage, belts, cases, wallets, purses using only the best quality vegetable-tanned leathers sourced from the UK and Europe. Their designs aim to reveal the unique qualities of leather and the value of craftsmanship. Over the years they have fine-tuned their skills through a combination of experience, experimentation and research.
Always willing to explore challenging design ideas, everything is made by hand, including the stitching. Each piece is individually made to the highest standards of craftsmanship using leathers, threads and metal fittings which compliment the work.
Neil & Valerie often work with customers on commissioned pieces. They are currently working with the shoemaker, Caroline Groves, on some beautiful bags which can be seen at www.carolinegroves.co.uk

Very talented people. I have Valerie's book. Excellent as well.
My complaint with this and other videos: Why is the music necessary. Unless you have super clean audio and excellent mixing, the music takes away from the enjoyment of the talking and makes it hard to discern many times. I would give this video 5 stars if no music. With the music it drops to a 3 star rating.
Keep up the otherwise great work, Neil and Valerie.

...totally *love* all these videos from TGGoC! Very calming and informative. They show nice people being nice and doing nice things - now this might seem a trivial observation - a facetious remark even - that isn't in any way helpful. However, I mean it. The world is chock-a-block full of not very nice people, all in a hurry, trying their best to make a quick buck and push&pull anyone who'll listen into their way of thinking. These pleasant and unhurried craftspeople are quite the reverse. Thank Goodness! Happy Days, everybody :-)

Как Вы выживаете таким ручным трудом ? Налоговая Вас не третирует , пожарники не наведываются , санстанция не беспокоит , котлонадзор не охраняет и т.д. ????????
