      @@HiddenHeightsFarm this is one of the few times that I wish I wasn't, because it gives us a hint of how negative and uncaring some can be when it comes to the respect shown of someone else's personal property. And it saddens me even more at the thought that they could and probably are aware of the two precious little ones that are also being effected. Thank God they are exposed to a great positive family life to counteract the negativity seen in this type of situation. That's where the difference lies. They are taught that this is an example of "an action that they should never take part in"! Where as the one committing the act, (God forbid, I pray 🙏!) If they have little ones with them or at home, is teaching them to be just as disrespectful and dishonest as the example put before them. The problem is, you are rarely on the property and live a distance away. Without regular monitoring just about any sort of security measures you try to do are at risk of being stolen or destroyed. I was thinking a fence, but it would probably just get cut and any gates stolen. Before we moved onto our property the people who have the lot above us put a farm gate on their access road. Someone stole it. Since we moved here they installed a heavy duty security gate because I was able to tell them about all the traffic going up to their property. Unless the thieves have heavy equipment they aren't stealing that gate! And it even has spikes pointing straight out so no one will ram it!

    Great video. First time viewer. I like it. Built my own deck system for my Trailblazer. I keep anything to do with the outdoors and survival in it. Living in the country can be hazardous at times. With the snowfall and bad weather, having what you need when you need it is important. Some call me a "prepped" but I think it as insurance. You can "Google" truck buggout kits and personalize it to what you need. With children, you might want to add a bit more. As far as trespassers go, check what legal limits you can take and go there. You can't fence it all or will keep out the wildlife. One option, if it's in your budget, is to place a small cottage on your land and maybe have a single veteran live there for free just to maintain and watch the property. Wishing you the best.

Everyone who was caught were locals! Word got around and there is no more trust passing on our property! We also moved the Spock sticks to different locations so that people would not try us again!

They may have 2 or 3 “camps” in the area and can watch the surroundings. They could also have homes and are using your property for a day away recreation of fishing or camping and that way they have access to tools to take down cameras. Just some thoughts that came to mind. I am so sorry that you do not have the ability to have a safe family area on your own property.

    Warning to all Trespasser's...You never want to steal Camera's or anything else from a man who owns a Vortex, ATN and a Back-Hoe!!
    Kevin, I'd chain and lock 2 steel locking boxes with trail camera's inside them high up in the trees aimed toward each other. You'd have to cut an appropriate sized hole in each box so the camera's could still function. Unless they have a good bolt cutter or a chainsaw, they will have one heck of a time walking away with them. One of the camera's is bound to get some photo's of the culprit! Don't forget to drill a drain hole in the bottom of each box, so rain water can run out. Also check the camera's more frequently! Even if it's just to make sure they are still there.

Cameras they steal, bcuz there is really no place safe to put them. No internet/cell service available either. This last time they used my sledge hammer & axe to destroy things they didn't take like my brand new windows for my future cabin. They took the brand new items out of the packaging from the stores & shipping crates. Left the trash behind and stole almost everything. Grand total for this last robbery was $60,000.
    They found some of my stuff at a drug dealers house. But he was never charged for it bcuz they went for the Federal drug charges instead. But without a conviction on the theft, I couldn't sue him to recover my losses.

    the knife marks may have come from the 'cleats' on boots that tree trimmers or utility pole workers use.

  • @GMikeSEA
    @GMikeSEA 2 роки тому +2

    From the looks of the hacking damage to the trees and cut strap they probably used a pole with a blade attached. Perhaps if you decide to try again you could lash the cams to the trees with chain or steel cable like you would use to secure a bike. They'll be hard pressed to cut those from the ground with just a pole and blade. Even with a ladder and a large pair of bolt cutters it will be a workout. And most thieves tend to be lazy by nature. But of course if they watch your channel you may just be setting youselves up for an ongoing game of cat and mouse. The gps models are also a great idea but it raises the dollar value of your losses. Love your channels and enjoy watching the Kaleb and Kylah growing up. Keep up the great work you do.

    Hey Kevin and Rachel, you may need to invest in the camera that puts out an alarm when shaken. Also one that is set up with your tv for you to monitor. It will come on and show you when someone makes movement on your tv. And you can see them. I wouldn’t talk about that area or tresspassers anymore on your channel. I would get them by surprise. I hope this helps

    • @rhondaalbrecht

      The problem with that is that there is no cell service in the area of the property, so it wouldn't be able to transmit to their TV, and it's too far away. Great idea, though.

    You guys really do a good job on these videos, content and inserting the drone video with the camera shots. Good editing. You guys should get a deer stand and weigh it down with so much weight it cannot be moved and hide a camera between some steel beams no one could get to, to get them on camera as they try, or something that cannot move without major tools. I am “furious” for you Rachel. There has to be a way to stop these people or find out who they are. They are up to no good.

    Hello to you !!! What a beautiful place - it's absolutely gorgeous there next to the creek !!
    I know every state is different, but in my state, if someone is hurt on someones property, the property owner could be responsible for any injuries the trespasser may have - That's a scary thought in a situation like yours !!
    Next time you put up cameras, I don't think I would say anything about it on your videos, just to see what happens - Perhaps you're being followed by the trespassers !!! Just a thought !!
    Enjoyed today's video, but so sorry for your camera losses !
    Have a good weekend - God bless !!

    I'm curious about whether or not your trail cams had infrared lights for night vision. If so, the thieves could have spotted all the cams with an IR scope. If they were possibly hunting at night, they would have been equipped with IR scopes and IR illumination on their rifles to light up the night. Your trail cams would have been lit up light a lighthouse, up in the trees and they could have walked right up to them. The axe marks are so well spaced that it indicates that the axe or hatchet was in control of the holder, so I expect he either climbed up just high enough to reach, or stood on a ladder or on top of a truck to get enough reach. If you replace the cameras, don't get infrared lights or find a way to disable them. I doubt that they light up anything on the ground from that high on the tree anyway. Good luck.

    • @MishaDaBear
      @MishaDaBear 2 роки тому +2

      Even many digital cameras and cell phone cameras can see the IR illuminators. You may want to try an old school tripped camera where a car or truck trips an IR beam and a camera takes a car tag picture. Also you could set up a camera that takes a picture every daylight hour or every 15 min. You can get real basic and small 4k cams that can be set to do that like with an arduino controller.
      Your land is not littered up so makes me feel that your tresspassers may be locals or tree huggers. If the locals do not know you you may be able to say maybe at a store that looks like a nice camping spot and see if anyone gets triggered!
      Another option is to block the road and see who complains! A dump truck load of concrete or scrap logs should work too! Just set up FB searches because they will fuss!

    The trespassers are awful 😞- I wish y’all had caught them - maybe don’t record where you put cams next time in case they’re watching? But it’s likely whoever took them will be on the lookout for them from now on 😣.... anyways regardless of those problems that is a beautiful piece of property and I hope y’all get it worked out so you can thoroughly enjoy that blessing without burden. Love you guys! Thanks for sharing!!!!
