“We said, ‘Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it.’ ” - Lars Ulrich They took what Metallica wanted to heart and rearranged the song, made it their own, and still paid homage to the original song during the outro with the original riff. I thought they did a fantastic job.
Seven years ago The Warning did a note for note style cover of Enter Sandman which was uploaded for family to see. Metallica spotted it and liked it and it went viral, currently at well over 22 million views. So when Alessia Cara invited them to collaborate on a song for the Metallica Blacklist album there was only one song The Warning wanted to do. So they took Metallica's invitation to turn the songs on their head to heart and came up with this reimagining within a week. Of all the artists who participated in The Blacklist project this is probably the most imaginative and awesome version submitted,
Liked it. Totally different version to the original, which has been played to death and probably never need to hear again, so this was a welcome change.
Love this version. I'm a hard rock guy and not so much a Metal guy, though I do like some old school Metal. The Warning has the Midas Touch. Everything turns to gold.
Beautiful and creative rendition of the song. I like this more than the original at this point. The Warning and Alessia killed it. Come back to The Warning more often, they are putting out incredible material. 🤘😎🤘🔥🔥🔥
It definitely takes some guts or a big pair to completely remake a huge classic song and totally reimagine it.. but they did it and they just knocked it out of the park as The Warning have always done.
Thanks to Alessia Cara & The Warning, this is the best revised and or re-envisioned cover of Enter Sandman. I love the overall sounds and the awesome vocals plus the cinematics of the video, so perfect.
Amazing girls, every thing I watch i always tell myself there is no way it gets better than this. And then they let out the next song and I'm like how in the hell did they do even better than last time 😆
Take a pop singer, a rock band, and a metal song and put them all together, what could go wrong? Absolutely nothing. Great collaboration. And you were right about the last 30 seconds. The Warning could have easily done a straight cover, but why? This is much better. Thanks!
So true. The girls could've done a rote metal cover of the original note for note, but that's the point? They radically reinterpreted the song and made it like new. THAT's talent!
Metallica asked Alessia Cara if she wanted to do a cover, she recruited the Warning they suggested the song and within 1 week they had come up with a new version more a tribute than a cover.
Very nice, thoughtful reaction to an inspired reimagining of an iconic heavy metal banger. These girls are musical geniuses, and they are providing not only a gateway to hard rock music but to heavy metal as well.
And all without meeting personally Alessia from Canada and the Warning ladies from Monterrey and the way they did the video by projecting Alessia on the wall was a pretty slick solution to not being able to meet due to Canada's covid travel restrictions.
Nice reaction. To me what I notice most is that Alessia starts it nice and smooth and after about 30 seconds she is pretty much pushed to the side(as was most of the "pop" sound) and The Warning takes it over. That's when it good good! The Warning had the nerve to take an iconic classic and reinvent it back into the creepy and demented lullaby it was originally written to be.
Excellent work by The Warning when making a new version incorporating the Pop of Alessia Cara, moving on to the Hard Rock of The Warning and ending with a Trash as a tribute to Metallica. Made in a week with The Warning in Monterrey and Alessia in Canada. Great daring with a Rock anthem and they succeeded
Hi guys, a great girl band, l like it because it’s not the typical girly sound, it’s more metal than pop. I wasn’t really paying to much attention to the lyrics either BP1, but upon listening the lyrics were dark. Really enjoyable, 2nd banging of the week, totally agree. Thank you so much for sharing this video xxx
They found out that Metallica originally wrote this song as a (dark) lullaby for one of their sons. I think The Warning did a better job than Metallica of portraying that dark lullaby sound.
This once again shows how special and insanely talented these young ladies are to take an iconic song and create a spectacular arrangement like this. Blending in the beautiful voice of Alessia Cara was perfection and those harmonies building up to the hard ending . . brilliant!

*Bangin'* here! 🤘 A very different vibe, then a clever final 30sec (doubters 🙊). Very good, thoughtful reaction. I noticed you'd just released another _'The Warning',_ so I popped back in time to see if you'd reacted to their 'Enter Sandman' cover. Very sneaky. You reacted to this rather than their 2014 version (when they were amazingly young; 9yo, 12yo, and 14yo). I imagine BP1 enjoyed this more than maybe their Metallica-faithful 2014 cover. Also, the video showed how cinematic this interpretation is. This music could fit several styles of film (movie) scene. Nice one chaps! See you back in 2022. G-Man.
@G Bulmer This was a "Bangin" tune and a nice cover of the original which BP1 would probably not have enjoyed as much. They did a great version here and Alessia Cara was also very good. We have noticed that The Warning put out great videos too. We shall keep an eye on them and see how they progress, but they are doing very well so far. All the best and we look forward to your company in 2022
@@BritPopsReact I'm not a 'Metal Head'. Metallica are near the edge of my usual tolerance. However, this interpretation is stellar. Repeatedly listenable. As you say, Alessia Cara added extra 'flavour'. The last 30 seconds, belting out the original, was icing on the cake. I'm impressed how you two support each other, with BP2 helping navigate to music BP1 can enjoy. 👍
remember my comment, this amazing and beautiful song from the group THE WARNING! and alessia, will be in several movies and series such as soundtrack and easter egg! remember it! greetings from Mexico.
I am so happy you guys reacted to this Brit Pops! I love everything about this! The Villarreal sisters' voices blend really well with Alessia's. Their harmonies are spectacular. Their arrangement of this timeless classic is off the charts. Their video is amazing: Legendary work here. I appreciate all of their HARD WORK! Grammy Award winning artist Alessia Cara is more of a sultry soulful Pop singer/songwriter. She and The Warning share the same international agent who suggested that she collaborate with TW. The original is much heavier and is supposed to be a dark lullaby. The Warning ran with that theme and in my opinion, did a better job than Metallica at portraying that dark lullaby sound. That last part is the original Metallica riff of the song.
Hey fellas, in one week they rewrite filmed produced and played the most hated song by me. Because where I live, a lots of young people live around my place and it was no night I didn’t hear this song on full volume. And I’m 74 yrs old. Now, it’s my turn to listen to this song every night on full volume. But this time I hear a lots of voices singing to this song. And hands are clapping to!
I think it is really cool that these young women paid homage to Metallica like this! It is on that pop side, but screw it! I like it and it is the perfect introduction to the hard stuff for the younger set. Chuey gives 4 enthusiastic paws up. Well done, good choice Gentlemen!
Put the Metallica's Original with The Warning's spectacular interpretation in row on your playlist and repeat this several times. What you will get is a never ending loop of the song. The Warning with Alessia Cara start with Metallica's Outro and end with Metallica's Intro. Compare the lyrics and you will find it proved. GENIUS!
For as much as I love Metallica, it was The Warnings cover of this song back in 2014 that got me interested in them to begin with, I still definitely like this rendition far more than the original. They took James Hetfields original idea of this song as being a “lullaby” for his son and created a far more Surreal….. Darker….. Creepier….. Haunting, almost horror movie feel of a song with a powerful ending that gives homage to the original, what a touch of class. And Dany’s high note leading into the ending is EPIC! They absolutely killed it! The more I hear from The Warning, the more I come to believe it is literally impossible for the sisters to put out anything subpar! And, this collaboration with Alissa Cara, who by the way is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star with millions of followers was a perfect melding of pop and rock. Yet In my opinion, it is absolutely The Warning who bring the “hit factor” to this recreation of an iconic song, What a Bold Statement. But, I honestly did not expect anything less! It would not surprise me if this song/video were to receive a nomination for a Grammy award. Again, they killed it! LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!
excelente combinación de pop-rock-metal, así como las nuevas generaciones evolucionan, hay que evolucionar las canciones de la vieja escuela, para que no se olviden. VIVA LA JUVENTUD .!
This flawless masterpiece was the result of a complete overhaul and reworking of the original song by The Warning. (Alessia Cara's name is pronounced "Ah-LESS-ee-ah".) They started out with Alessia's pop vocal style and transitioned seamlessly into rock as the vocals shifted to Daniela's vocals, and finally ended with the original riff by Metallica. It's genius.
Many people like this better than the original. You have done one reaction to The Hu band, I think you would also like their cover of Metallica's song "Sad But True".
EPIC song and video ending in a supernova!! This is the best song of Metallica Blacklist album! Very cool arrangements. They did a superb job! Viva The Warning !! ⚡⚡⚡
Nice reaction. Funny to hear a reaction from a pop kind of guy point of view. Many reactors are more or less metalheads...😅 Shame you stretched the video so much though. It has been shot in 4:3 for a reason... Plus Pau is not the tallest of people as is ... you made her look like a dwarf... 😅
This reaction reminded me something I recently found about the possibility of UK join to T-MEC (free trade agreement CA-USA-MEX), would be great !!. Good reaction & comments, saludos MX.
The warning gets hammered in some circles because they can't do metal. I guess after this they may be rethinking that. That last 20 seconds just might be better than the original. Great remake of a tired old classic..
I didn't like this one too much at first. But after listening to it some more I got the idea. It's really not bad, though I'm still not sure about some parts. And I can't help feeling that it might have been interesting to bring in some different sounds. But that's very subjective, obviously.
You need to see the Warning Enter Sandman live at Teatro Metropolitan Dany sings. It's much better. You're doing yourselves a disservice by not reacting to The Warning live at the Teatro Metropolitan every song at that concert is fire.
