I think it does better critically, but it's difficult for people to get past the semi-spinoff nature of the show and see it for what it is. I remember as a kid seeing commercials for the show and thinking "Psh it's just Family Guy again". It wasn't until late high school that I realized how wrong I was. I think it was the episode where Steve shoots Santa that finally sold me on it.
It'll never have the appeal of Family Guy as its just massive stereotyping of conservatives to comedic effect. Instead of being a funny show that pokes fun at everyone. It quite obviously pokes fun at uptight religious conservatives and traditional values. So, while a great show, its too alienating to reach the same success of family guy.
Have you...seen American Dad lately? Stan's more of a Clinton democrat at this point than a modern conservative, and the show is barely about politics anymore because they've exhausted most of those aspects of Stan's character. Family Guy is far more political at this point than American Dad and, if I was a conservative, I'd almost certainly find its portrayal of conservatives more offensive.
Yeah I don’t think it is. This has an even more live sound to the vocals and they aren’t singing on rhythm. The LD version is still sick but the lows on this version are really turned up. I need to know too!
The dude on bass rising out of the garbage can gets me every damn time
Where all bass players are born
I live for stan's hair in this episode
Boys! Are back in townnnnnn!!!!!
One of the best American Dad montages. That along with Stan and Roger’s police training montage to The Touch by Stan Bush
0:26 real smooth
Works..... every time.
Stan and Steve have better father and son moments than Peter and Chris do
Because there total different shows lmao
That's because he's a better father then Peter is
A chef and the turkey sandwich he makes have a better father-son relationship that Chris and Peter lol
I wonder why this awesome show doesn't get the respect family Guy gets when it's so much better than family guy

What version for this song without the audience?
At least it's not the worst time Stan's been kicked in the balls...
Dammit they stopped right before the best part
I heard this song the other day and I was wondering where I heard it from. I’m satisfied.
Reference to Philo in the bassist?
Definitely!
Fuck Yeah!!! This is universal guy music!!
American Dad is brilliant. And unlike Family guy, South Park and especially The Simpsons. The new episodes get better
I'm Irish and I approve of the boys are back in town
Why is PhiL Lynott rising out of a trash can? A little disrespectful, but a good scene

What version is this for boys are back in town?
I think this is the live version off of their Live and dangerous album?
How did they isolate the background of the crowds cheering?
@@robindowner666 you're a God among men
It’s not their live and dangerous album . This sounds way too clean

TBS in rest in USA = American dad
TBS in BRAZIL = porchat
You guys are really trying?
great show, terrible song (because its mumbled and sounds like it was produced in my moms basement) was great otherwise though.
Yeah, it sounds like it’s filtered. Sounds like Phil but not Phil. The guitars sound weird, it’s odd. Maybe it’s an issue with the rights.
It's a live version, which is why it sounds a bit loose. From the Live & Dangerous album.
