i have been asking this with no answer. i think the best option is to look for a friend who will be participating, the ask your friend if you can go as their passenger/assistant/scout /photographer e.t.c
@@mathu_stans Hi, this is an event started by Earl Karanja. We also relied on him executing this plan but if you have friends who can join you in this, by all means go ahead. We will attempt this again when the rains come
80series got power but let down by the tyres when approaching a boghole you just floor the pedal no clutch balancing and never do 1st gear go 2nd or 3rd if you got enough momentum
Hi guys, number one rule. Lower your tyre pressure by doing that you increase your foot print au base of the type which means more rubber kwa ground...
In that recovery of LC200 waa just wastage of time and resources. The only one who did any effort was the hilux. There was no play of the steering except the hilux, even in self recovery 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. Also there was no enough lag on the tow rope for that jerk-pull for all that tried the recovery. My pure thoughts are the landcruiser would have self recovered with the forward and reverse if there was enough turning of the steering wheel! Any way, my two cents and always do research on such before overlanding.
When are you joining us? It would be great to have such knowledgable person overlanding with us to help recover the LC80 (oh sorry the LC200) or any other car… 💪🏻
It happens. There are military trucks that run on eight wheels and all are driven. On real African muddy tracks they seriously get stuck and it'll cost one a lot science of forces to get out of such a terrain even when you have a gearbox driven winch!!!!
Recovering that 80 series would’ve been much easier if there were traction boards in use. Mud fun though 😂. Mud tyres should’ve been part of this as well. ATs just made it worse in the mud as they’re quite poor for muddying around. Improper tyre choice was actually the primary problem here. Also, weight in mud to sand is make-or-break. You choose the track while minding your weight.
Wow this is Fun how do i come with you next time

You need to have a winch at least in one of the cars when offroading

The car in front is always a Toyota. Unless it's buried up to the doors in mud that a 660cc Pajero Mini has no issue navigating.
