- Join me on my first day of my three week adventure in Alaska. This video is of me and Steve Phillips as we explore the beach and visit the old GPAA Cripple River camp. Watch out for the baby seal and be amazed at a beaver swimming along in the Bering Sea surf. Learn how to gold prospect a little too.
I would like to thank Spencer and Steve Phillips who invited me to visit with them in Alaska and at their gold claims "Phillip's Gold Camp" on the Casadepaga river.
I would also like to thank Garrett Metal Detectors for their continued support of my video making and exploring hobby.

love the baby seal hope its okay😯
me too
Marcel not very nice😦
Marcel I know but I dont like to think about it😐
I was wondering where his mama was. Poor little thing. He looked so sad. Isn't there a rescue in Alaska that helps baby seals without their mamas?
dlmtns101m the mothers leave the babies to incourage them to go in the water
that's the tailings conveyor, the bucket line is still in the pond...
The seal looks scarred to death. hurts my heart... :(
Watch out for them moose
Aquachigger I saw several moose when I lived in Anchorage years back. My bro-in-law ran into a momma, he had just enough time to get under his truck, he was lucky. We have them here in N. Idaho too. They'll come right up to our porch. They make our porch look as if it were made out of toothpicks. Sheesh
Be careful out there, Beau.
nice video
Chigg you are the man!
I think you had that dredge backwards. You were looking at the tailings conveyor. The bucket line was on the other end
The contrail shadows are cool. Lots of good info on them if you Google the term. Unfortunately the chemtrailers will likely chime in. Nice video.
I presume the trail ends because the aircraft descended to a lower altitude. Kinda neat how the shadow happened to line up in that direction as if it continued on its own.
I sure will, go ahead and dispute fact if ya want to. Do your research and cure your ignorance. Good day sir.
oi vey
@@Highstranger951 ahahahahahaha
break seal... void warranty
You are so lucky Mr. Chigg. I had plans for an expedition in Alaska this summer, but our sponsor and team leader didn't come through.
Chemtrails for sure. Tony Beets comes to mind when I see gold dredges.
That will be his 3rd dredge :)
Jimini Nah, Tony sticks to the Yukon, not Alaska..
Oct James His location has nothing to do with my comment. If I saw a gold dredge in New Zealand I would still think of Tony.
The bucket line dredge is incredible.
I love gold panning, need to get out and do it more.
Contrail shadow...Yes that is a shadow. You sometimes see those shadows in the Lower 48 from natural cirrus and altocumulas, too. Depends on the angle of the sun.
Those big sad eyes just melt my heart. The baby seal was also cute.
You'll probably need that gun for the Kelly family!
great video
Chig, do you get as big a kick out of these "chemtrail" comments as I do?
What you are seeing with the contrail is indeed the shadow. I've seen this affect hundreds of times here in Alaska. If the contrail evaporates and disappears the atmosphere is dry and rain is unlikely. If the contrail stays and spreads out it is moist and likely to soon rain.
That little seal did look so lonesome and sad. I like the Musk Ox best! Welcome back on line.
I got charged by a musk or in Portage Alaska
what ?? No sunglasses for the wall !! ... No abandoned fishing lures !! ... No civil war memorabilia !! ... no new caves to explore !! what kind of adventure are you on ??
I don't wish to add to your woes [mistaking the back end of a dredge for the front end] but I feel I have to say that Beaver are not as rare up there as you've been informed Brother ... the GPAA have been battling against Beaver further north than the cripple river camp for a number of years, and I doubt their being there [the Beaver] has much [if anything] to do with global warming.
Have you not seen / watched their videos "Gold Fever" ??
So nice that you can arm yourself against any harm
It's a baby, makes me sad too, where's it's mama...
aquachigger are you planning on doing any metal detecting? If so will it be at any of the old towns or are you just detecting for gold
hiii chiggg!
Aquachigger :o a reply?! sweeeet! loving the new content!!.. but missing the river adventures.. either way ill be watching! 🖒🖒✌
I hear baby seal blubber is easier to chew.
I was wondering that as well if they just use the blubber and skin or are the pups actually worth eating. LIb snowflakes triggered now.
Xcaliber Trekker hahah
You should eat cockroaches my friend , they are very high in protein
Xcaliber Trekker The baby seals were mostly used for their pelts. Not enough meat or blubber to be of much good.
Milton Tucker HAHAHA. Got im
That would be my dream to get there, I read their whole blog that is so tempting to go I would Love to work with them!
Watch out now, Chigg is gonna catch gold fever! 😁. Really looking forward to watching your Alaskan adventures Beau.
Im from Alaska😊
now this is off-roading
NEED MY TINFOIL HAT NOW!!!!1!
Great vid, hope for many to follow!!
Love it, thanks for sharing, happy you called them contrails and not chemtrails, every single chemtrail argument can be debunked by SCIENCE, just sayin' :)
it's Trevor Phillips from GTA!! Just 16 years later and retired!!!! so majestic
I'm a gpaa member I've been up there that guy has been on to Massys show gold fever he has some amazing civil war war artifacts like you halve thanks for sharring
I use to pan gold in California, it's MUCH EASIER to find gold in California than Alaska. You can find a fair amount of color in just about every pan in California. I would not be panning in Alaska for a few specks:(:(
Beautiful there.I unexpectedly belly laughed at the mans story about dumping the gold.Had to be a Kodak moment .Do you suppose that baby seal was okay? Just waiting fir the mama to return,I'm hoping? My audio was low for some reason so forgive me if you answered that in the video.
aww cute seal
Hey! I've been watching your videos for about a year and I'd love to meet you! I live in Utqaiģvik (Barrow) alaska, which is the northern most point here in the continental United States. reply back if you're coming up here!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I miss home which is in Fairbanks. Can't wait to get back there. My daughter still lives there with my grandson. We did some panning when I lived there.
Keep the videos coming.
Great vid Chigg. My husband went last year for a couple weeks, with his Hawaiian buddies, and came back with fifty pounds of halibut. It was awesome. Here in Hawaii, while we do have tuna and other delicious fish, we don't have halibut, so it was great to get some fresh from Alaska. I can hardly wait until he goes back and gets more.
Hmm my cousins in Alaska with the Philadelphia zoo, don't know what she's doing but ya... lol
Aquachigger, glad to see you going after some gold. Just a note, you have the dredge explanation backwards. The part that you're pointing out in the video as the bucket line, is actually the tailings conveyor. The bucket line is buried in the water and gold bearing material. I've always wanted to go to AK after gold. Can't wait to see the rest of this series!
🇬🇧. Look more like a contrail from a missile rather than a jet. Only saying.
You were describing the dredge backwards. The covered portion you were pointing at was the tailings chute. The buckets are on the other end. The sluice boxes are inside of it.
Lonnie, "We'll just find some water". Yeah, ummm, I think that is an ocean behind you.
Love the baby seal and the footage of GPAA camp and the gold story were he tossed it back in creek. Thanks Beau
Was thinking sea otter and then you said beaver. Beaver sounds very unlikely to me, their normal environment and the way they live doesn't fit here. Sea otter skipping through the surf looking for crabs and small fish is normal and nice to see.
Dredge looks like the same one in the tv show Bering Sea Gold. If you haven't watched it it's pretty interesting.
Awesome we have same each sand here in New Zealand, sometimes it contains small diamonds.. We also have a dredge like ur back to front one... Love it good job can't wait to see u find some nuggs
thank you for your videos. can you recommend a medal detector for beginners? it's something I would like to get into.
Wow...this type of gold mining is as destructive as strip or mountain top removal mining.
it's almost it's almost like watching the History Channel. keep on sending those videos
nome you said chiggs? that's where the alien abductions took place right?
you shouldve visited kiska, atu and dutch harbor while you were up there.
Glad your back, I was beginning to think the samsquanch got you.
You were pointing at the stacker which was the waste rock Conveyor the bucket line was on the other side sorry I have OCD.
You described the dredge backwards. The right side is where the tailings would be shot out. It's up like that so it could create a pile and not get backed up. The left side was the arm that digs into the ground.
Looks like another great adventure. Looking forward to the next vid. Thanks.
Great video you do a great job editing your videos you make it feel like I'm on the adventure with you ,thanks again
driving there looks a little different to say the least. did you hold your breath?
you got the bucket line backwards hehe. The higher end you see is the waste conveyor the lower end is the bucket line.
This is a lot of fun. Such great people, I was sharing in the time...a real set of memories:)
Why don't people use dredge boat to this day? Fix it up and put new sluice boxes and I don't see why not.
Hey Beau, what are your thoughts on the mining company leaving that dredge there once they finished with it?
10:04 Always remember people No molesting the seals! ✋😂🚫
Ive been told the darker trail is due to cold air up there. But with military bases by me, they could be lying
the baby seal's kinda lost...poor thing.. :(
plz i beg of you NEVER use the word molest ever i am a big fan but dang
i think you weren't allowed to touch the seal because if you did you can die if you touch the cuteness. nice video
Alaska is definitely on my list of places to go. Enjoy your time there!
hope ya made it home safely, thanks for the hard work you do i really enjoy your videos, God bless
Nice Oakley's. Did you find them in the river?
Great video Beau ,hoping to make it to the Yukon on my bucket list
heray you've finally come to Alaska hope you like it here and have fun.
thanks chigg! my 2 year old loved the baby seal! now he knows a new word.
Baby seal at 9:54
what cute little baby. ....great video as usual
Great adventure in Alaska
Good luck 🍀👍🏼
There's something really sad about that ... lol
you were very close to me there Beau, I'm in Fairbanks
Wow....great video! Can't wait to see the rest of the adventure.
Awesome stuff as always. Keep them coming
Thank you William Seward.
I look forward to the rest of these. I hope you had a blast. Steve is a real asset and treasure to the hobby.
dam the aqua is loaded, just no underwater stuff or else that gun will not work
"so you can't poke it with a stick or anything" aw man
This reminds of the show years ago Gold Fever.
was the guy with the green jacket and the beanie a heavy smoker?
First vid I've watched in months sounds good
That would the trip of a life time awsome video
Good to see you chig, are those glasses river treasure ? cos they are sweet, also good vid
damn chiggie you are going all over the place lol you lucky
I hope that you are going to skagway
Anymore river treasure hunts soon chiggs? X
That seal looks like a puppy
Strange place indeed..
Nice video. Those are cim trails not contrails.
thank you for posting amazing content
I'm pretty sure that's an otter, not a beaver.
