HOW MANY KIDS DID YOUR MOTHER HAVE??? HAVING KIDS IS NOT A CRIME...GOD TELLS US TO BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, REPLENISHING THE EARTH...HE DID NOT SAY ONLY MULTIPLY IF YOU ARE RICH... SHE OBVIOUSLY FELT SOME SORT OF WAY ABOUT REVEALING THE NUMBER OF KIDS SHE HAD...BEFORE YOU DO ANOTHER DOCUMENTARY, WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A SENSITIVITY COURSE...ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE BEING LED OF GOD TO DO THIS?? WHO KNOWS?? I see you have all of your banking details..😂😂😂...IF THIS IS NOT A SCAM, GO BACK TO BABA AND THE LADY WITH 7 KIDS AND TELL THEM TO GIVE THEIR BANKING DETAILS OR PHONE NUMBERS, I WANT TO GIVE TO THEM DIRECTLY, NO MIDDLEMAN
That's where I was born and raised. The house directly behind where the okpa guy was sitting, was my bunk. A lot of fun memories were created here. Brings tears to my eyes watching this video. Many Igbo great men and women were either born here or raised in this hood. I still try to pay a short visit each time I am around. All they ask for is just water supply and electricity and life is manageable within this great hood. Keep it up my friend.
It’s not the best neighborhood but it’s not dangerous either. The only difference with other communities is that they are used to handling matters by themselves. No need for the police asking for bribe no need of the government that does not care.
Great to establish that you were raised here, good to know that your life have changed tremendously, God bless you. The great news is that you made it out of the slum. If i could ask you personally, have you organised some relief fund for your community? It might be helpful, if you could share the story with us. Thank you.
I live in Lagos. I am from Enugu. Obiagu is my hood. Yes it is a ghetto but bro, it’s based on your intentions. It’s not dangerous but protects it’s own. If you come with love, you get love and if you come with war, you get abundance of it. Just like every other community.
Reminds me of every 'dangerous' hood I've visited in Africa. All these 'dangerous' places have been incredibly welcoming to me, full of friendly people. Not a place to be feared, just a place that needs to be understood.
Every did you visit central africa in my country we don't really have hood or that are extremly dangerous like in nigeria or other countries in africa, where I come from people are just trying to live a peaceful life
What has to be understood there's no sanitisation no electricity relying on rainwater we live in the 20th century no one should live in a Tinseltown whatever rocks your boat I'm afraid it's not for me or any of my children
The title said notorious not dangerous. I don't see what's notorious about this place. It's like every deprived village in Igboland. No running water and no electricity
Wow! i grew up in Afia 9 obiagu. Obiagu is Enugu's main ghetto. Something like Ajegunle in Lagos. Its proximity to Esut, UNEC and IMT makes it a perfect low cost off campus residence for students. Most of the poor kids from the area are inspired by the students to want to get at least a university education. A lot of the ghetto kids are now lawyers, doctors, engineers, accountants and more, and are scattered all over the world. Thanks Eboh
Voyage of Discoveries. Yes indeed the IGBOS have been scattered to the 4 corners of the earth, for those that truly understand the spiritual significance.
Man Filming local hood is very difficult. Even if you settle some people, others will come after you... eno easy well done for showing us around. lovely. Enugu is also of the cities in SE that is well known for thuggery. Although Imo state seems to be taking over that these days. I like that man you interviewed..🤣🤣🤣
We just don't realize how great we got things here in the west. We are concerned with whether or not we should have cable vs satellite while these people don't even have water or electricity. This is raw stuff. Thank you. Subbed!
In the West, half of the population is one paycheck from living like this. Don't get it twisted. The day U get sick and cannot work; Underneath the Bridge welcomes U. Have U seen the Great California, lately? U walk out of an high-end restaurant, and a guy is taking a $hit right there. The Great West is not far from this. At least these people have Zinc roof; the homeless in America look straight in the sky.
@@fredrica4900 yes, I live in California lol but what you're not taking into account is that as of 2022 95.1 million people out of a population of 216 million people in the whole of Nigeria live just like this above the poverty line, according to the World Bank. Yes, we have many homeless people in not just California but all of the United States, and many people live paycheck to paycheck - but they at least get paychecks. We have many more resources available too than a country like Nigeria (food stamps, rent assistance, shelters, etcetera). The ratio is not the same. Poverty here in the U.S. is not proportionate to poverty over in Nigeria.
@@RICO_SUAVE_86_ We fought hard for America to be the way it is …. You probably migrated here with your family….speak for yourself ultimately it’s Nigerians creating those conditions they choose to live in.
I wish my sisters and brothers all over Afrika in Nigeria to get rid of corruption and the exploitation by your politicians and international companies. What I have seen in Ghana and Nigeria is an amazing thrive and an unbreakable will to work and ethic in order to improve life. Once your countries belong to you people, your energy will unleash and Afrika will make it's way to the top. Although the conditions are so tough, people welcomed me and were open-hearted and friendly with the Obroni. My heart and my prayers are with you. Greetings and all the best wishes from central Europe
I know that it's easier said than done but Obiagu is one of the slums that need to be rehabilitated and this location can be used to provide a better housing for the residents and population at large
Obiagu belongs to Nike indigenous people called ogui Nike. They have the largest land mass in Enugu metropolitan. And sells those lands at will but insist that they'll never move out from there village because of civilization that is why the place is looking like that. Check out the kind of cars most of them drive. Some of there tenants look poor but they themselves have bigger land's in there own village but they prefer to live in urban area. Obiagu is one of the disadvantages of urbanization with out planning but they are not poor people.during festivities most of their tenants travel to there own villages to celebrate with their people then obiagu will be Left with only the indigenous people. Government has to resettle the entire villages to be able to mondernize the place which is a difficult task. Because it's Their heritage. Please do more research.
@@ebouche1309 I am Ngwu Ikechukwu, am from Ogui Nike, do more research about Ogui and you will re-edit ur comment, I must commend you for that video. I reside in portharcourt, when I saw that video I was so happy, it makes me feel like I was there. But what I want to correct from ur comment is that ogui sells land at will, not true. Most of the land lord there don't have papers, some of those places where occupied illegally. Is it the lands state government collect and still collecting, I know my people sell but not as u people thought,.i have a lot but let pause here
Oooh My Holly! I just Subscribed to your Channel. You are a Real UA-camr showing the Real life of our brothers and Sisters in Nigeria. Not like other fake UA-camrs who keep showing us the bridges and flyover of Lagos telling us that’s where Nigerians live. You are so brave and open to the born without any sugarcoating. Please show us more and next time put a link on how we can help people in need even if is just a small amount to get portable solar power just to light their homes.

So sad to learn of your passing and it brings lots of grief and sadness that you're no more. So many of us got interested in cities in this country just because of the documentaries you provided. We will always remember you and I pray generations in the future will always remember the resourceful life you lived.
Their days of comfort are just going to come. Yeah, unlikely. They can’t even bother to make a cart for carrying water back because someone would steal it if they did.
After living in West Africa, I'd like to say that this was a very good video. Everyone looks clean and healthy, and drama free. I wish that they had running water and electricity. However, I did NOT see raw sewage or pollutants in the air. Although looks can be deceiving, these folks seem relaxed and free of overt conflicts. I, coming from a place with constant shootings, injuries and death, am happy to see my people stable...Now we can push for the necessities mentioned earlier...Peace....
A few times you mentioned to the interviewees that the purpose of the video is to promote awareness & see if they can receive outreach from people or the government. I believe to keep to your word, proceeds from this monetized video should be donated to the people of that area.
That elderly man was so right with everything he said. It's amazing how us black folk all around the world still honor God no matter the condition. God will honor this man here and in the afterlife.
I believe that is why, He had bath water, when others were saying water was a issue, YAH definitely take care of his, He knows the TRUTH, we are aliens here, this is not our home. ALL PRAISE TO YAHUAH OUR ALMIGHTY EL.
If his god is so great why does he let his people live in horrible places like this? No human being should be living like this, and I would never serve a God that allows his people to live in such horrid conditions.
As an 042 boy, I can say that Obiagu is not that dangerous. Most students from ESUT and IMT lived there and the interactions with the students made a lot of kids from Obiagu to aspire to be graduates. Obiagu is actually a village in Enugu, a part of Nike town so it is some people's actual hometown. I once met the daughter of the King of Obiagu when I was still a student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and she was studying at UNN. That's how I knew it was the actual village of some people, just like Amechi Awkunanaw.

After watching these videos.. it really make you appreciate everything that we have.. A inside toilet and electricity... take nothing for granted... God Bless these people 🙏 🙌
Our people are suffering all over Africa like this - without basic living necessities, water & electricity - while the upper class rich & political figures claim to love their own - this is why we are where we are. We definitely have an obligation to rebuild once you’re in a position to… less clubs & leisure & more actual developments that will further us in the right direction.
@Sapphire 💜 I mean that’s a bit on the emotional side but I get you… but looking at things practically without feelings… every nation I’m about to name, the leaders aren’t perfect and there are under the table deals, we know that - but with the likes of Dubai, UAE, China, USA, & other developed nations… hatred and jealousy will live among human beings until we all perish it’s just how it’s gonna be. But the leaders in said nations understand the basic and complex necessities that need to be put in place for a thriving community. Wrong priorities and wrong leaders that lead their people blindly into more poverty & distress is what we have. Gotta face reality sapphire, Africa has all it needs to be at least be self sufficient (let alone a world power) and play on a world level but with everything we have we are still living like we’re in the late 1800’s
Your people don't want to work. Y'all just want free stuff. And if it ain't free, you just steal it. No wonder you can't even create a functioning society. And everywhere you go, you create more problems for peaceful working societies.
God bless you and your team ,for bringing our attention to this hood. I've been to Enugu a couple of times, but didn't know a place like that .May our ruling elite open their eyes to the plights of the downtrodden in our society and diligently solve the problems .

Want to ask is it hard to drill water 💧or the government just overlook the area?if we can all support with 5 bhole in that hood and generators to pump that will be much of help, the electricity only if the government wants to support But for the water we all can contribute to the bohole and generators, look at the faces of this people there is no joy in that hood
All ancient cities or towns of any substantial size in Nigeria have places like this. They are usually in the oldest parts of our ancient cities. This is where the people used to live from centuries back. Children from these old neighborhoods grow up, got education, and moved out year after year. Or people become upwardly mobile, and move to new areas springing up. Then the poor people move in.
perhaps you're speaking of the villages. I know and have visited my village and no one can live there except through close relations. This, however, looks like a township neighbourhood that is poverty stricken. One of the differences, i think, is that there's clear leadership in a village but not in a neighbourhood like this.
Joy J...thank you for your explanation...what you describe continues the cycle...would love to see it decimated and annihilated by those who rise economically...eliminate that level of poverty, put the "poor in better conditions and continue to eliminate the bottom level until all are elevated to a higher standard of living know lower that a lower middle class...this way of living is inhumanly cruel...
I really love what you are doing with your channel, even though I'm based on the other side of world, my heart is still in my hometown Eastern Nigeria and I support anyway that I can. Be blessed and keep showcasing Eastern Nigeria.
Wow, as an American watching and having grown up in the “hood” here there are some similarities but accessibility makes such a huge difference. Living comfortable without the standards of society but lacking access to resources and basic necessities is so frustrating. I love that they’re content but it’s so unfair that basic necessities aren’t easily accessible to them. It can’t just be the middle class and working class that sees this smh.
Naw this is a super huge difference… these people are saying they have access to water ONCE A MONTH…and American “hoods “ have access to water EVERY DAY!!! We as Americans have to do better and be more clean…be more appreciative!!! Just that fact alone makes us a piece of shit…self straighten!!

Loved this video especially being half Igbo. The only thing that ruined it are the comments from people that have at least the basic necessities in their government housing comparing their situation with people that are ACTUALLY suffering living in shacks. The audacity 😒
@Gheywrld And I'm sure it was very easy for them to do while swindling, raping, looting, lying, enslaving and taking advantage of people that didn't put value in material things in their native land.

That hood is dangerous, they robbed us when we were undergraduates over there,it's really bad that things still remain the same till now, something needs to be done
Yo keep filming these. For people like me who live in 🇺🇸, we have ghettos and hoods too that are very dangerous. They are those elected into office to make the place a better place and provide amenities. These Celebrities will only do as they can as individuals, it's not in their place to make a whole hood a better place.
Wow, watching this video makes me so thankful for what I have although I live paycheck to paycheck. These poor folks don't even have the basics of water and electricity but they still are maintaining with the little they have. Why the govt doesn't supply water lines and electricity and repair the roads? Its just sad to see people living in those conditions. Places like this one reveal how insensitive that successive governments in Nigeria have been. How much will it take a governor to rehabilitate that place? Corruption and wickedness is so much entrenched in the heart of the blackman that even if somebody from this place becomes a governor, for instance, nothing will change after 8 years.
" black man" .... its not so. In some countries far south and in my country Rwanda politicians still do their work. Its not only the governors corruption. Its tge political system and functionning thats broken.

Most of us Americans don't know real poverty. Here we can get help, food stamps, help with rent. Over there they have nothing,no water!!!!!! I cannot imagine. Yet they seem welcoming and positive.
The conditions is harsh there , this is down to the Government it’s a total disgrace that they would leave a community in such bad condition it is totally appauling🙏🏿😡

Most of the poor kids from the area are inspired by the students to want to get at least a university education. A lot of the ghetto kids are now lawyers, doctors, engineers, accountants and more, and are scattered all over the world.

Yes, we have many homeless people in not just California but all of the United States, and many people live paycheck to paycheck - but they at least get paychecks. Obiagu belongs to Nike indigenous people called ogui Nike. They have the largest land mass in Enugu metropolitan. And sells those lands at will but insist that they'll never move out from there village because of civilization that is why the place is looking like that. Obiagu is one of the disadvantages of urbanization with out planning but they are not poor people.during festivities most of their tenants travel to there own villages to celebrate with their people then obiagu will be Left with only the indigenous people.

Coming from the US in California it is dangerous and lots of murders but even in the worst hoods we still have access to electricity and fresh water. Even if you are homeless you have access to tap into the electrical grid and have access to electricity. Great job with this video showing life in this hood. Looking forward to more videos to spread awareness.
Despite being the hood it looks like residents keep there area clean , I didnt see big trash piles or open sewers , it looks like a community of working class type individuals, there houses are neat looking as well not shacks. This could be the next great business district if care was taken to the infrastructure water and electricity
I wish you had blessed them by, purchasing what people sold for a living, giving it to the others. Hard to have a pocket of money and not help those in need. The humility brings me to tears. How lucky we are in the West.❤
I swear I was thinking same thing.. came empty handed to a place you know is struggling bad smh
Very insightful video. Showcasing the world and the kind of environment we live in. I'm part of this environment, I grow up in obiagu. Most of the ppl in the video where my friends. Especially prince, the guy with the interviewer. That okpa guy too. Hmm this life is a journey seriously. God chosed our parents to bring us in this environment. And it's a very good journey experiencing all this stuffs. The rich and poor has alot of environmental changes and effects. I bless Obiagu where I grew up. Am Not going to regret anything...💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼❤️❤️❤️💯
Thank God for keeping u safe . Phenomenal coverage. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Rehabilitation will drive many people homeless
" black man"
.... its not so. In some countries far south and in my country Rwanda politicians still do their work. Its not only the governors corruption. Its tge political system and functionning thats broken.
African are not black, they're African. Blacks are only here in America.
I love how optimistic majority of Nigerians are much respect!!!🙏🏿🤎
Amazing people
@@pjyounge2326 too bas their dreams for most don't come true they just tend to stay and die where they live 🥲

@@OGustus 04 is blessed ✌️
The guy that said he isn’t from here and this isn’t our world is on to something
He's on to more than the people making fun of him in the comment section can even hope to imagine. I don't live where he lives, but I can and do say the same thing. I am in this world but I am not of it!
I loved this upload keep up the good work it reminds me soo much of Haiti 🇭🇹 I think you should start doing some projects to assist some of the people keep up the good work 👏🏾 🙌🏾
Most of us Americans don't know real poverty. Here we can get help, food stamps, help with rent. Over there they have nothing,no water!!!!!! I cannot imagine. Yet they seem welcoming and positive.
Thank you for this documentary.
You are welcome
The conditions is harsh there , this is down to the Government it’s a total disgrace that they would leave a community in such bad condition it is totally appauling🙏🏿😡
James Omoz i guess the government is just trying to force them to eventually move out so they can take over the land, then rehabilitate ït, after they've left these human beings live in such a deplorable state?
Obiagu, the legendary.
Every major city has one.
You’re name is brilliant!!! Teaching people how to say Igbo 🔥🔥
Good to see all the charity work from Usman and Adysanya has really helped
