Your playing here has a sense of whimsy to it. Whimsy has always been my favorite part of Dime's playing too, especially his early work. It's not quite "funny", but always kind of fun.
I stopped playing guitar a while ago now, and my interest in guitar content has consequently dropped off a fair amount. But your playing in specific is uniquely attractive to my ears. Subscribed!
I watched this yesterday and came back today to say thanks a lot for getting this song stuck in my head the entire day! lol. Also for giving me the irresistible urge to plug my N64 back in and play some Mario 64.
Lmfao! That's awesome. Made me remember back when I was like 12 or 13 trying to teach myself how to play sitting in front of the tv with my guitar playing along to the theme of Married with Children. 🤣
I think you've found a bit of a niche there... could be a great sideline for your channel! That's the sort of warmup I do too: tv themes, game themes, nursery rhymes, anything to engage the "fun" of it!
The way you rake across the strings before hitting notes is awesome ! Not to mention your tone, bad ass man ! I personally tend to warm up by playing with my balls .... my baoding balls that is ! Baoding balls are great for getting blood flow to the hands/fingers and wrists. I usually warm up 5 minutes each hand. If you haven't heard of Baoding Balls, check them out. Respect to you !!
Mario 64! That was very nicely done! You made it your own and it has lots of great personal touches to it. A lot of videogame covers sound kind of sterile, like they just play the notes and that’s it. You, on the other hand, made it burst with personality. Rock on! 🤘
Nice! Love me some Mario. And speaking of video game music, I still like to play Ken's theme from Street Fighter on guitar. But what I really want to play is Castlevania's Wood Carving Partita on keyboard. It'll be next, after I finish learning Bach's Polonaise 125 and Temptation rag.
Love your guitar! I have a Voyager that I bought when I was working at Gibson at their annual "scratch and dent" sale that was at the Epiphone shop down the street. Its pearl white with matching headstock, white pickups and chrome hardware. The crazy thing is, I dont think Kramer ever released my particular guitar... I never play it lol. Wanna buy it? 😜
Omg. this is my first time watching your video. You played it so smoothly. I can't stop watching your video and your smile is so sweet. The guitar fx sound amazing, may I know your fx setup?
"What the fuck? The fuck is that? Video game music? That some Mario Kark bullshit? Well, alright! Fuckin' A. Sounds like I got drunk and played that shit and just didn't remember it. She's pretty fuckin' good I tell you what. Get ya pull, girl!" -Dime's Force ghost, probably.
Saw the news recently that Ty Tabor is having health issues & I got into a King's X listening binge. Hope we'll see some KX covers from you someday. So many heavy riffs, so many wild, bendy solos.
Kayla! If you ever happen to be in Oklahoma, come jam sometime at my studio! There's a video of it on my page. Keep up the good work! You're freakin amazing at guitar!
Do you ever practice iconic solos from other bands? Something like "Cult of Personality" from Living Colour comes to mind, or some Zakk Wylde. You are so awesome!
Have you ever tried the Dunlop jazz III max grip picks? I used the green tortex Dunlop picks for about a decade, hadn’t ever tried a jazz III until a year ago roughly, i got a Dunlop variety pack on amazon by accident. I decided to mess around with a bunch of them and it only took about two notes strummed that i realized I should’ve tried out different picks long, long ago. Never going back
Do you have any in-depth videos on your gear including amps, effects, hardware and software? I'm interested in your little room. Bedroom or studio or both really?
Dude, just make another channel for video game music. Make all the channels! Just keep smiling your infectious smile. I feel goofy sometimes, but I can't help it :P
Just came across your channel. Not a guitarist but have played some drums. Check out a Band called Pumpjack. They were with Pantera a lot back in the day in DFW.
So im thinking about asking for a guitar or a drumset for my bday and im leaning more toward a guitar is that the right choice and if so do you know any good budget guitars!
You could get a guitar and work on certain drum stuff using a practice pad. Some good budget guitars are: Jackson (js series) Ibanez (gio) Squier Harley Benton Epiphone If you decide drums over guitar, these are some good brands with some decently priced acoustic and/or electric kits: Alesis Yamaha Pearl Mapex
Guitar is easier in terms of taking up less space and not being too loud. My best advice to new musicians: find other people to jam. You'll improve the quickest and have the most fun
watch the algorithm see this half ass rendition and be like "oh yeah this is what millions of ppl need to see"
May the Algo bless thee 😆
I don't know if I needed to see it but I enjoyed it! Thank You.
One can only hope.
You videos rarely pop up in my feed but this one did and it did within an hour of you posting. Get ready for the fame, I hope you handle it well! :)
What you did here, and what you do is Nowhere Near "half assed" you Are talented and deserve some recognition.
I love that it still sounds like it’s being played by Dimebag
Same tone I swear
Dimbad had longer hair though
@@Anshul1614 dimbad also had a cool bard
@@richardrussell4065 hahaha
Lol Mario 64!!! You're plucking at my nostalgic heart strings.
Ah! It sounded familiar but I never would have place it.
Saw your ''Domination'' solo cover. Ho-ly sh*t.. absolutely nailed it! Rock on 🤘
Yes! Mario 64! What are the odds you can play the boss music from Final Fantasy 7? I reckon that would sound awesome with some Panterafication!
This! 1000x this! I'd die from overwhelming happy if she jammed some metal covers of Castlevania music 🥰
@@CaskStrength777 So much incel cringe
You're awesome, glad I found your channel! It probably sounds corny, but these videos have been making my day lately haha.
Your playing here has a sense of whimsy to it. Whimsy has always been my favorite part of Dime's playing too, especially his early work. It's not quite "funny", but always kind of fun.
Your control over the instrument is so present. You know what to do and you're doing it. Awesome!
A Dimebag Darrel metal style e-guitar cover of super mario. Now i have heard everything
Throw the pick to the camera like Ola Englund at the end hahahaha. Very nice playing, inspiring.
Ola sucks
The way you smile at the camera shows how much you love playing
Seriously funky groove too
Lmfao! That's awesome. Made me remember back when I was like 12 or 13 trying to teach myself how to play sitting in front of the tv with my guitar playing along to the theme of Married with Children. 🤣
That was so fun to watch. Brings good memories when Mario 64 was huge.
In a World that’s gone to shit, you truly are the best.
I think you've found a bit of a niche there... could be a great sideline for your channel!
That's the sort of warmup I do too: tv themes, game themes, nursery rhymes, anything to engage the "fun" of it!
i love finding songs that I didn't know i wanted/could play :)

Wondering if you're happy Pantera is back on tour in 2023, just announced.
The perfect look with the perfect 5* talent and to top it all off with a awesome Mario 64 theme!

This was like, half my childhood distilled into one short video. Awesome cover, and thank you, Kayla! \m/
Nice , You should do an equipment run down video .
I can almost picture the look/reaction on Dime's face if he was still here and checking out your vids. As always, sick job and good song choice 😄 🤘
Just fantastic. How do you smile so pleasantly while shredding?!
Me and the wife are busting out the ol 64 tonight. Thanks!

Hahah this so cool, like if dime landed up playing Bob omb battlefield for koji kondo.
That sounds like Joe Satriani with that tone and style you got going. Another excellent video Kayla.

This makes me happy 🙂

"Budget" "Cheap" is subjective. Name your price.
Well yeah that's good and all, but you could warm up by simply putting a sweater on!
Looks like a metal jingle Bell 😁😎😁😎
What's the Kramer star model? Only star I have is the ESP Roope Latvala signature...never seen one from Kramer. Killer.
Amazing picking hand.
Well I, for one, welcome more video game music lol.
