6-Year-Old Dies After Badminton 'Freak Accident'

- A 6-year-old from New Jersey was fatally injured in a freak accident while playing badminton. Lucy Morgan and her three siblings were playing badminton in a front yard while on vacation in Maine. As her 10-year-old brother was swinging his racket, the aluminum shaft came apart and struck Morgan in the head. Cops have made it clear that the fatal injury was an unintentional, freak accident. Morgan was rushed to the hospital but she died four days after the accident.

My uncle passed away in a freak accident like this. It was the 1960’s and my uncle was 6 yrs old playing golf with his friends. His friend swung the club and hit my uncle in his jugular and he bled internally and died in the front yard. Idk how my grandmother survived. My grandfather was a reverend as well. Prayers and love to the family ❤

Something similar happened to my pastor, when he was little him and his sister were chasing each other around the house. Back then TV’s had huge antennas, he doesn’t know how but the antenna fell and stabbed his sister in the eye through the brain and killed her. He said his family blamed him for that, it wasn’t until he found God that he actually learn to love. He has a wife and kids, and he’s doing great now.

I don't know the details but I'm thinking it came apart mid swing and the broken part was launched like a projectile with the sharp end piercing the little girl's skull. Very sad.

I don't know about you folks, but I don't think this is physically possible. I know that kids have softer bones than adults, but still I don't think that a 10yr could have enough strength to do such a thing, and also the aluminium is a quite soft metal, easy to bend. Overall, I don't think they're not telling us about all the details on how exactly that happen, or perhaps the story is a pure fiction.

something similar happened to me when i was little, i was playing tennis with my family and the racket my cousin was using broke and he inadvertently sliced through my shoulder. he was jumping around alot trying to hit the ball so he ended up jumping swinging into me at the same time it broke. i can imagine this kid was doing the same.. shame it ended so much worse. i hope this doesn't haunt him.

Because honestly, it's obvious they feel sorry (to say the least) about her horrible death, it goes without saying. Everyone knows that is the worst part. So all that is left is to acknowledge the unique pain of her brother, who was just a little boy playing with his sister and now has to be haunted by this forever. The shock, helplessness, guilt, grief, and horror is so immense, one can barely imagine how overwhelmed he must feel. He needs people thinking of him too.
