I would've liked to have met Emperor Hirohito. I like the politeness of the Japanese people. They are several cuts above a boorish lout and a loathsome cur. What some people forget is that Stalin had his spy working out of a German Embassy in Tokyo. Richard Sorge et al., were arrested by the Japanese and executed before Stalin invaded Manchuria in 1945. If the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not occur, then Stalin would've invaded Japan and the people of Japan would have been enslaved.

In my humble opinion: "The last word, however, lies in the incredible amount of know-how Japanese industry acquired from the exigencies and imperatives caused by an unequal war. Denigrated by the gullible, Japanese industry demonstrated an impossible resiliency in the years following the war, a renaissance energized by internal factors as much or more than by US aid and investment." -William Cox from my book: Junkernauts. We did not give Nihonese culture enough credit for natal creativity imo

Whats so grave and dire here to show that Japanese have to live in cramped spaces. Japan's land area is already more than most of European and South east asian countries excluding Burma.
This ia a typical western narrative of seeing a country that came strongly out of their attack as their imitator and inferior replica. Its the industrious nature of Japanese and values of diligence, determination and perseverence that made them immensely successfull. The Kanban and Kaizen philosophies made it what it is as a powerhouse and leader 32:30 and not any western adoption. The allied nations may emphasize on their 'vital aid' but that was all repaid many fold after Japan began exporting and expandin its industries. Capital flew out.
