Let´s be real, some of us really got into the marketing of “beauty gurus” and bought all the makeup that they recommended to us, remember the phrase“you need this in your life”? and then after all these years and all the money we spent we ended up having a lot of expired makeup that we have to throw away because is dangerous, to be honest, I don´t enjoy the beauty community anymore, and I would love to see makeup tutorials with no brands like before ☹. I love Marlena´s idea, Smart Beauty for smart people and smart purchases :D

I absolutely love this. Makeup definitely has turned into “fast fashion” and I don’t care to keep up with the latest releases. It’s a waste, and I’ve always made sure to completely use up my products before moving on to the next. I wait to buy from people/companies that deserve my business. Carrie Martinez same! I love Too Faced’s matte peach powder but they’re so controversial that I’m looking at other brands. Also, eye shadow palettes are coming out at rapid rates and it’s filled with blues, pinks, and greens which most people don’t use on a daily basis so I’ve been looking to buy my own individual shadows and make my own palette.
Same!!! I did get caught up in new releases for a few years and I have palettes I haven’t even touched yet BUT I’m refusing to buy any palettes in 2020 until I use up what I have 🙌🏽
It's refreshing to hear a brand say, "Hey, we're not going to keep serving you new new new" (or repackaging some colors to appear new - ick). We are all reaching palette fatigue, have too much stuff, and know when something feels insincere.

Finally an artist with sense!! I couldn't keep up anylonger with all the palette after palette feeling as I was in a tornado storm of eyeshadows and feeling as all these youtubers have lost sense of reality!!! I am a working mom, girlfriend, daughter, friend, aunt to many and I don't have 2 hours a day for makeup neither do I have money sitting around and throwing it on every new endless lines of makeup launching constantly. I started thinking I'm sick of this online makeup community and will go back to the originals big names that established female empowerment and beauty till i watched this video!!!! Denise Batalha Yes, but I think her point is that you can do this with a number of different brands already. MAC, Colourpop, Laura Mercier, Nyx, Buxom and more all offer the same thing
Seriously, since first discovering the eyeshadows from Makeup Geek, these are the only shadows I use. I got a bunch of them about 5 years ago. A friend of mine lived in the US and every time she got back home to Germany, she brought some of the eyeshadows with her. I don't wear eyeshadow everyday, so they lasted me for a couple of years. Maybe now you relaunched I should get some new ones :)
is it really that hard to spread your legs? what is there to congratulate? adopt a kid in an orphanage that actually already needs parental love instead of making more, will you?
This was well explained and well put together. What I’m now looking for in these types of palettes is a nice range of textures. More than many colors we want duochromes/multichromes, satin shades, foiled/very metallic ones, pressed pigment, glittery eye safe shadows, different types of matte formulas... that would really spice the collection up and make it more interesting and durable
I'm sure she has that coming down the pipeline. She'll likely release stuff in small increments like she did before so everyone can partake and indulge without breaking the bank.

I have never stopped using my MUG singles, I have them in MAC palettes with the clear tops (similar to your rebrand). Finally someone taking the actual customers' needs at heart and treating makeup as a normal everyday routine and not a clown show. I don't need a pallette with fuchsia, neon green, or bright yellow. Power to the people who do, but while they're increasingly well catered to, I still can't find a good-quality pallette with silver, different shades of grey, and black. Give me that, and I'm ditching all other brands, because at this point I'm tired. Hope you'll be able to get a contract with a supplier in Australia, like Mecca Cosmetica. Marlena I’m so happy for you. My husband is a scientist and he always said eyeshadow should be exactly like what you did now. We both love it. And I’m happy that your baby is on the way. I myself had miscarriages and last summer a stillbirth after a medical mistake. I’m 29 and already so afraid that I can never go through pregnancy again. We would like to adopt and are prepared to pay. The high amount of money necessary but sadly the waiting lists are years long and as non US citizens we are not a priority. But you really inspire me to stay hopeful.
This is exactly why I first started with Makeup Geek years ago! I was tired of buying palettes just for a few colors but they all shared the same 4-8 colors. So over time I bought all of the MUG shadows because it was the most expansive brand of single, cruelty free singles. I didn't find the pull to buy palettes anymore except for rare occasions. I am so excited to see the rebrand and expansion in the future! Congratulations on all the hard work paying off!
Makeup geek is most of what I use. I still have your original pans. Now I need to see what colors aren't offered anymore. Bring back Luna from Manny's palette. I hit pan on that shade. I am glad I was able to order 2 more of this stunning color before it sold out! I still have your loose glitter and loose eyeshadow powders. Congrats on your new journey! MAC quality at a drugstore price. I’ve ONLY used there shadows since she first released them!!! I keep buying and upgrading and adding. Her lashes are fabulous too!! The lip line is amazing as well. I can’t say enough good things about makeup geek. I think people under estimate the quality. And that’s a shame. And I would rather put my money towards a real face and name of a person not just a “brand” name

love that you'll be focusing more on single pans from now on, while I really really like "traditional" eyeshadow palettes I've been getting more into single shadows and creating my own color schemes! Similar to Inglot’s magnetic freedom system where you can configure your own multiple pan palettes, which have been on the market for over a decade. Good luck with your new branding, not easy to give it another shot in such an over saturated cosmetic market. What you’ll be up against is price, configuring pallets is more expensive & time consuming than ready made palettes. I totally agree with your fast fashion approach & am a fan of hitting pan too. You were and still are one of my top favorites that I watch all the time, so informative and just all-around great to watch. I have a man who comes into my job with OCD so bad that we have to touch all his products and help him shop while he wears gloves the whole time because of his illness. While I don’t think the OC was trying come off that way unfortunately she did. I have family members with OCD and it really has caused issues in the people’s lives around them. My sister used to make us say goodnight 8 X a night or she couldn’t sleep and would flick her bedroom light until the switch stopped working correctly. OCD is def not nerdy it’s sad to watch

Makeup geek eyeshadows where the eyeshadows that I used when I started my MUA career , fast on 7 years and still today MY FAVOURITE EYESHADOWS OF ALL TIMES . In my pro kit I have a staple palette ( my life palette) that comes with me to every single job and also is in my personal every day collection. Would be lost without it! . I love make up geek. The quality is outstanding and so underrated. Marlena kept her integrity and didn’t pay lying influencers to just plug the product for dollars. Enough respect for her, we should support the brand, for the above reasons but mainly because it is truly fantastic quality and really great value for money.

She’s humble she’s honest she’s candid and she’s transparent. She LEADS from the front and she knows how to get her hands dirty. Let´s be real, some of us really got into the marketing of “beauty gurus” and bought all the makeup that they recommended to us, remember the phrase“you need this in your life”? and then after all these years and all the money we spent we ended up having a lot of expired makeup that we have to throw away because is dangerous, to be honest, I don´t enjoy the beauty community anymore, and I would love to see makeup tutorials with no brands like before ☹. I love Marlena´s idea, Smart Beauty for smart people and smart purchases :D

I absolutely love this. Makeup definitely has turned into “fast fashion” and I don’t care to keep up with the latest releases. It’s a waste, and I’ve always made sure to completely use up my products before moving on to the next. I wait to buy from people/companies that deserve my business. Carrie Martinez same! I love Too Faced’s matte peach powder but they’re so controversial that I’m looking at other brands. Also, eye shadow palettes are coming out at rapid rates and it’s filled with blues, pinks, and greens which most people don’t use on a daily basis so I’ve been looking to buy my own individual shadows and make my own palette.

I am a working mom, girlfriend, daughter, friend, aunt to many and I don't have 2 hours a day for makeup neither do I have money sitting around and throwing it on every new endless lines of makeup launching constantly. I have a couple of Life palettes from Em Cosmetics that came out several years ago.
Seriously, since first discovering the eyeshadows from Makeup Geek, these are the only shadows I use. I got a bunch of them about 5 years ago. A friend of mine lived in the US and every time she got back home to Germany, she brought some of the eyeshadows with her. I don't wear eyeshadow everyday, so they lasted me for a couple of years. Maybe now you relaunched I should get some new ones :)

This was well explained and well put together. What I’m now looking for in these types of palettes is a nice range of textures.
More than many colors we want duochromes/multichromes, satin shades, foiled/very metallic ones, pressed pigment, glittery eye safe shadows, different types of matte formulas... that would really spice the collection up and make it more interesting and durable

I have never stopped using my MUG singles, I have them in MAC palettes with the clear tops (similar to your rebrand). I am working on being more of a minimalist now, but I will definitely be watching to see what you come out with, if I’m going to invest, it will be with MUG/you! Blessings chica!
Finally someone taking the actual customers' needs at heart and treating makeup as a normal everyday routine and not a clown show. I don't need a pallette with fuchsia, neon green, or bright yellow. Power to the people who do, but while they're increasingly well catered to, I still can't find a good-quality pallette with silver, different shades of grey, and black. Give me that, and I'm ditching all other brands, because at this point I'm tired. Hope you'll be able to get a contract with a supplier in Australia, like Mecca Cosmetica. I myself had miscarriages and last summer a stillbirth after a medical mistake. I’m 29 and already so afraid that I can never go through pregnancy again. We would like to adopt and are prepared to pay. The high amount of money necessary but sadly the waiting lists are years long and as non US citizens we are not a priority. This is exactly why I first started with Makeup Geek years ago! I was tired of buying palettes just for a few colors but they all shared the same 4-8 colors. So over time I bought all of the MUG shadows because it was the most expansive brand of single, cruelty free singles. I didn't find the pull to buy palettes anymore except for rare occasions. I am so excited to see the rebrand and expansion in the future! Congratulations on all the hard work paying off!
Makeup geek is most of what I use. I still have your original pans. Now I need to see what colors aren't offered anymore. Bring back Luna from Manny's palette. I hit pan on that shade. MAC quality at a drugstore price. I’ve ONLY used there shadows since she first released them!!! I keep buying and upgrading and adding. Her lashes are fabulous too!! The lip line is amazing as well. I can’t say enough good things about makeup geek. I think people under estimate the quality. And that’s a shame. And I would rather put my money towards a real face and name of a person not just a “brand” name

Similar to Inglot’s magnetic freedom system where you can configure your own multiple pan palettes, which have been on the market for over a decade. Good luck with your new branding, not easy to give it another shot in such an over saturated cosmetic market. What you’ll be up against is price, configuring pallets is more expensive & time consuming than ready made palettes. I totally agree with your fast fashion approach & am a fan of hitting pan too. You were and still are one of my top favorites that I watch all the time, so informative and just all-around great to watch. I have a man who comes into my job with OCD so bad that we have to touch all his products and help him shop while he wears gloves the whole time because of his illness. While I don’t think the OC was trying come off that way unfortunately she did. I have family members with OCD and it really has caused issues in the people’s lives around them. My sister used to make us say goodnight 8 X a night or she couldn’t sleep and would flick her bedroom light until the switch stopped working correctly. OCD is def not nerdy it’s sad to watch

In my pro kit I have a staple palette ( my life palette) that comes with me to every single job and also is in my personal every day collection. Would be lost without it! . I love make up geek. The quality is outstanding and so underrated. Marlena kept her integrity and didn’t pay lying influencers to just plug the product for dollars. Enough respect for her, we should support the brand, for the above reasons but mainly because it is truly fantastic quality and really great value for money.
I never got to try MG back in the day but I remember hearing every other guru say/use 'Cocoa Bear' lol. Can't wait for this re-launch. Fingers crossed for your continued success Marlena!

I'm excited about this. This is the only brand that I consistently reach for. And the way the website has always worked with descriptions and photos is a pleasure to shop on.
This woman is a true leader. I have said from the beginning watching her videos, notice how she always speaks in terms of “WE” , she talks about her company as a team. She’s humble she’s honest she’s candid and she’s transparent. She LEADS from the front and she knows how to get her hands dirty. What more could a business and their employees ask for in their primary leader? I wish this woman could mentor me on how to start my own business in a different niche. Wonderful woman with so many good things to say.
