I’m looking forward to Jeff , under the guidance of Chris , working this out. I’ve been watching Chris for quite a while. He teaches both dog and owner.

Excellent video , I have two working cockers 1 head strong and the other one, I only have to look at him and he behaves . After wasting a lot of money on local dog trainers , I met a guy who works spaniels , he said go and see a gun dog trainer , they’ll put you right . After a few harsh lessons on me and the dog we started to get him focused . I work them both now to a reasons standard .

It's amazing to me (a city dweller) to see the absolute enjoyment the dog gets from this. Brilliant to see actually

My spaniel is exactly like this, headstrong, doesn't fetch or recall unless we give him a bribe. What is he name of the furry toy your using to train with, i haven't seen those before?

      It's not a toy, it's a retrive item a squirrel skin.

Just an observation. I think he needs a gd 4 hrs in the field. A good running down. To take down his excitement levels. A week of hard running and u will have a completely different dog. I see couped up energy. Not stubbornness. It's our job as handlers to make sure all there needs are being met.

@@corleonegundogschristopher8163 I have been training hounds for 12 plus years, including state finalists. Specializing in treeing walkers coonhounds. Which are known for there high drive never quit mentality and often can display behavior similar to the dog you are working with. I do have a clue. However I did state I may be wrong as I have not worked with the sporting dog group very much so I could be wrong. Giving your response though and lack of openess to constructive criticism. I am further convinced my criticism is merited.

@@corleonegundogschristopher8163 leadership both in humans and dogs is built upon putting your team first. Trying to dominate will bring about the desirable out come but they will turn your back on you first. Most dogs in experience are very biddable by nature. There lack of listening and or easily distracted comes from a dog that has not had enough physical work. Once they are properly exercised there brain begins to function more clearly do the removal of anxiousness and over excitement allowing for a more enjoyable handler dog experience that doesnt require a lot of force or pressure to gain there attention.
