Excellent review as always! Thanks guys. One thing, it would be great IF it had been filmed in widescreen, but since it wasn't, I am very glad they did not crop it to make it widescreen. Original aspect ratio is always preferred.
Even at the young age of 14, seeing Rosie briefly in Graffiti Bridge, I thought Rosie was a very pretty woman! AND she can sing and play, to boot!
I agree so much with you guys on Rosie! If she would’ve been given the right push, she would’ve been an absolute star! She did put an album out on Motown, but then split with the label and put out her own independent albums in the late 90s and into the 2000s, but then faded from sight due to medical issues. I have all of those albums, and they’re all amazing.

Glam slam Has to be a standalone release
Great episode ! Cracked up at the Tony M guitar convo!! He did his thing tho’. Entire band KILLED it, but Michael B, Rosie & Levi had my jaw dropped. Literally had tears reminiscing about Glam Slam gigs and remembering that whole movement, because that’s what it was back then. Trying to explain to folks what they missed back in the day, to be able to see it now is like “ See? I told y’all he’d dance up on the bar!” 😂 D&P SD is an amazing package, they one up’d SOTT, which was great in itself.

Great show guys. Saxman was Brian Gallagher from Hornheadz and Greazy Meal. Sadly, Brian passed away unexpectedly in March 2016 from a pulmonary embolism.
Best quality of a Prince concert I've ever seen on film! I smiled from ear to ear the entire show and the band was on 🔥 I'll definitely be watching this concert for a long time. Very happy I bought the set! (PS: I only bought it for the concert footage lol)
This Deluxe Edition of Diamonds and Pearls is bananas! The blu-ray is phenomenal! I wasn't expecting such high quality video and sound. The performance was great. I really love when Prince and Rosie sang Diamonds and Pearls and hugged at the end. Can't wait for you to review all the music Michael. Get Blue is the one I've been waiting for a clean version of. Darkside is an absolute beast of a jam.

I saw an old interview where Rosie said she recorded 5 albums with prince and he didn't release any of them. She said she waited and waited, until she said Bye. Prince why you doing her like that? That could of changed her life, way of living. He's not letting her eat good. Confused.

I love most of all his lineups but this release has moved the original NPG to the top of the list. Rosie Gaines. Michael B and Sonny. Levi & Tommy are unsung hero’s. I never cared for TDK but I’ve grown to appreciate them

33:36 I have a cheap tcl 4k tv, the blu ray running through a ps4 and I could see the glitter on his face but i couldn't experience the enhancements of a 4k player. i went through a lot of emotions watching the performance and i think if it were in 4k my head would have exploded!
That was Chris James. He is our main mixer for a lot of stuff. Chris worked with Prince during the last few years of Prince’s life. So he understood what Prince wanted, he had worked intimately in the studio with him. I think you want to have somebody that can refer back to lessons he learned from Prince. That’s really important

💜💯 Michael U so Blessed 2 have seen Prince in a small venue after show vibe. I never got 2 experience that. I did have a frontrow seat at the LoveSexy Show in Charlotte NC but never a after show venue. 💜💯
Total agree with Michael D about Tony M. A huge step up from the Nude Tour and Tony was great in this. And he's a lovely person to boot. You guys in the US missed out on Nude and DnP tours. Nude was good, DnP was fucking ridiculous.
If someone sends me a copy of the DVD, I will look at it and review

The Revolution was cool but they couldn't/can't handle The NPG or The Rainbow Children 💜💯

Michael I agree with what you said about seeing Rosie then vs now. At 23/24 I appreciated her voice but didn't really look at her. 55 year old me was like Rosie is kinda banging lol

My biggest complaint about this vinyl box set is that there is NO DIGITAL DOWNLOAD!!! I cant play my records in my car.
You can buy the CD and rip it digitally. You can also do that with some record players with usb.
@@sushie29 I know these things but a download code has been included with all previous releases. Why not this one.
I guess for NPG, I was a band almost hired musicians where the Revolution was a family and I don't even like the look of the band 😊
NPG doesn't do it for me, no matter if they had their own song
