High, i know this was 5 year's ago but, if you can remember filming this video, what rod and reel we're you using ??? If no longer available ? What would be the equivalent at this present time ?? Many thanks. Les.
Tie a drop shot swivel about 4" below your hook, then use a lower breaking strain section down to your weight. You only lose a weight if you snag then rather than potentially losing hook and lure too. Also you don't have to tie anymore knots if you do get snagged and snapped off, just clip more line on and another weight and you're good to go. I either use 6lb fluoro leader with 4lb bottom or 10lb with 6lb bottom. Depends on the water and how likely a jack is.
hilbill79, yep I do that as well, but I'm a bit lazy and use the VMC spinshot hooks, I found you can't go too light on the bottom section as it will not lock into the dropshot weight, but then, I also just use swan shot on the bottom section as its cheaper and usually slides off if snagged up.
Best vid I’ve watched easiest to follow great
Thanks Sam for sharing.

Any tips on carolina rig fishing for perch
Great vid
Really useful tips, thank you.
Is this a static form of lure fishing, or do you still retrieve the lure by dragging the weight back along the bottom?
Watch the video lol
Spikeyshads are killer
