That’s a very beautiful piece!I discovered that I prefer to not put a final clear coat on my ocean scenes,that way I can enjoy feeling the 3d effect of the waves.Just my personal preference.

@@princessmissmiki i think you wait 15- 20 minutes for the resin to dry then create waves or spray isopropyl alcohol and it will have cells

You make the lacing look so easy. Are there some epoxies that don’t do cells easily? I feel like my waves barely go anywhere unless it’s right on it for awhile but then it moves almost all the blue pigment off the board. Could I have the wrong heat gun?. :(
Yes absolutely, there are a few epoxies I have tested that will not lace at all. But also maybe a different heat gun? You can dm me on Facebook or Instagram if you need more help

Beautiful what setting is your heat gun at it looked like the eaves were really blowing out so high or low and what dial I have the same heat gun
I used high from a distance and lowest heat :)

should the blue resin be thick then poured? what about the white and clear? how long do you wait after stirring in the colored resin to pour onto the wood?

Would you mind giving me. Suggestion on a project? After painting the turtle on a 36” round wood table top I then watched your video and thought gosh I should have done an ocean scene with smaller turtles. Do you feel I could possibly now pour and epoxy ocean scene around or do you feel it would look awful and just an after thought(which it is) thanks for any suggestions
I just feel the table needs something else it’s too plain.

Your sea race is very delicate and beautiful. I have a question. At what temperature do you always use the heat gun? I have experimented many times, but white cells do not form well.
Question: if I layer waves on an existing tabletop and want a 3d look but a flat surface, is it best that I use a border mold like melamine to fill in and let self level on the final coat?
Thank you! So helpful!! Do you sand the first layer prior to applying the second coat? Art Resin recommends sanding between coats if you let it dry for 24 hrs. Thank you so much!
If you wait more that 48 hrs yes you do, but under that you should be fine.

Lovely tutorial Rivka - my question is the piece started out with a hole in the middle (I assume to be a clock) what did you plug the hole with so the resin didn't sink through it?
Yes, I added blue tape to the back. After its done I will use a drill to drill the resin out.
