STORYLINE:
The submarine 'Kursk' was raised to the point of its waterline on Wednesday, where its conning tower, with its shattered glass windows and red Russian eagle seal, could be seen above water.
With the Kursk fully out of the water, Prosecutor-General Vladimir Ustinov, top Naval officials and a team of about 40 investigators observed a moment of silence before stepping onto the submarine's deck.
Ustinov sent clear instructions to investigators as to what they should do once the submarine has been dried off.
Russian authorities promise that in two or three days the Kursk would be sufficiently dry to begin investigating its interior in the hope of finding the exact cause of its sinking.

no matter what is happening in the world right now, with tensions between east and west, we shall remember them and will be in my thoughts on nov 11 along with the men and women I served with and lost, Покойся с миром
Fk Russia
It was murder to not let the UK team help when they were still alive. Putin refused help and the sailors paid the price.
It was help or compromise the entire military. Us American have the same issue at bikini atoll.
Sometimes fate has lives written and on consignment.
Nice to know you cared. I knew people who said "So what." I thought, what if it was my son or your son?
Russia doesn't care about murder. They put their own people in harms way all the time and keep it a secret unless it was like Chernobyl where United States and others discovered the deadly disaster.
You said it, total stubbornness on Putins part, i remember it well.
It was a joint effort. The US Navy was the first to see the sinking Kursk which was relayed to the Joint UK/US command in London, where in Scotland was a recovery submersible.
Conning tower looks creepy.
You know what's weird is the window frames were dislodged in the very first pictures.. Now they must have reinstalled them for the press.. Checkout the under water videos..
I believe when submerged those conning towers actually filled with water many don't know this!
@@xXHoratiuTheBobXx That's right...they are there for viewing the ocean surroundings when on the surface, to protect the officers from the swell and spray. When the Submarine submerges the conning tower is filled with water and the pressure is the same inside to outside.

just amazing how they we're able to lift that sub to tha surface!!!
I am proud of the Dutch people who have cleared the job
@@mohikaan96 It would have been far better if they'd allowed the British to rescue them when they were still alive. We offered they said nope. Lives could have been saved. 😉....Rule Brittania Lad.🤣
@@thetruebrit85 haha that would have been impossible the russian government sent its own auxiliaries that have tried to save the people but they were so ill-prepared that it failed. then all the people died.If they had called us right away, those people would still be alive. you should read better besides that, the Netherlands has the most famous, best and largest bering companies in the world Dutch berings companies do almost all large and difficult jobs in the world. and if they don't have a certain job, they are actually always involved because of their expertise. search the internet for known accidents and you will see that the netherlands is involved. now they are also on their way to a ship that has become adrift and that has 1100 porches and bentleys on board and that has been on fire for a few days. why do you think they almost always call the dutch salvage companies ? because we are the largest and have the most expertise worldwide what a small country can't be big in
@@thetruebrit85 there were 500 companies worldwide that were willing to try to salvage the kursk all companies were allowed to work out a plan and show how they thought they could salvage the kursk. and of those 500 companies worldwide, the Netherlands got it. I have a documentary for you that shows the entire salvage. if you want it because you have no idea what you are talking about.
Post the link!
Amazing engineering feat to raise this from seabed. Salute to the Mamoot team.
A salute to capitalism haha.
They killed the sailors by not accepting help, then they paid 70-80 million dollars to raise it from the bottom of the sea, almost no photos were taken from the salvaged sub and after that they scrapped it, WHAT THE FUCK . nothing makes sense
The few sailors that made it to the compartment 9 at the back of the sub were only safe for few hours before drowning, they could not open the escape hatch probably because of structural damage caused by the explosion. None could save them
@@Sseumday they couldnt open it because they would get compression sickness and die the rescue ship had no chamber
"full length shots" doesnt show a single shot of the sub so it can be seen properly.
is this some kind of joke?

Awesome find.
Ha.. Good eye.. Rip John..
You beat me to it.
Russias outstanding and ready military armed forces…. Impressing people since 1980…
Er…
I thought it was insane to spend all that money to raise the kursk then they melted it down to scrap..wtf lol.
What else to do with it?! Repairing it probably would've cost as much as building a new one from scratch, or even more.
it was nuclear powered sub, leaving it there too dangerous
I mean, the sub is destroyed. Repairing it would consume a lot of money, which the Russian lacks. Then there's rust, and other permanent damage to the hull, it's not worth repairing it. It'll bring more harm than good
What was wrong with getting it out of there? It was practically Chernobyl waiting to happen. Plus all those poor Sailors needed to be brought home and given a proper burial.
I think they raised the sub just on the off chance someone could ever sneak a submersible in there. The Kursk carried nuclear weapons and the Russian Captains procedures for authorization and firing could have been discerned from the wreckage. Plus it was only in 100 meters of water so the warheads could have been retrieved if someone wanted them, and if they could get in without anyone knowing.
Maybe they never rised the sub, it was too big.
What do u mean ? ,,never rised the sub"
rocket queen He thinks it’s a fake Kursk.
They never showed it.
yep, and the earth is flat, never went to the moon...

Ok today you will eat porogies tomorrow potatoes next day cabbage no Mc Donalds ok.
Crazyhands Hands Yes, Comrade.
It was shot by a US submarine
Nonsense
They found fragments of the Kursk's torpedo tube door the fat girl was in a short distance behind the wreck. It's what helped determine that it was an internal explosion from the practice torpedo that caused the live ones to blow simultaneously. Russia was taking a gamble using these very volatile torpedoes that no other country had been using for quite some time before the year 2000, a gamble which cost the lives of 118 sailors.
idiot
@@paulgerald3566 Wy did thay cut of the forward part of the sub before thay lift the rest up for the world to se? and dont say it couldnt be lifted otherwise couse thats bull.

Russia 🇷🇺 should build new submarine and commission in its fleet I support strong Russia🇷🇺
India 🇮🇳 has given 1 billion dollars to develop far East region to develop it
Russia are nothing but a gang of liars and deceivers
Good luck supporting a strong Russia. From every angle Russia is now finished as a powerhouse, and all due to its own doing. It may forge an existence as a producer of oil and gas for China in the next 100 years...with China's help....but the Russia that was once seen as the second most powerful country in the world is now finished thanks entirely to Putin.
Eeuu shot the kursk by accident. Its well known if you dig well.
Its clear you've dug into "something" too well.
