Good job bud . I bought a Harbor freight Pittsburgh Automotive deluxe lens renewal kit like 2 years ago for maybe 10 bucks .. It actually worked pretty good for like a year.. I was actually surprised it worked
MR SOMTHINBASIC215 I ha e seen those but have never bought them. I used to use a 3M kit and it worked well but came back after 6 months to a year every time. So I started doing it like this it’s cheaper and I will have to do it again in 6 months to a year again anyways.
They look so much better brother! I do the same thing but I don’t have a little machine like you do so I just go straight for the big gun like you did after the small one. It is so crazy how much nicer you can get headlights to look and like you said it will make it a lot safer at night also! It’s crazy how much of a transformation that Jeep has made! Great video brother and keep up the great work!
MeanBee392 Thanks brother! It’s normally easier then this but I wouldn’t expect anything less from this Jeep! Haha They do look a lot better and the wife was happy with it so that’s all that matters as you know. Haha Thanks for watching and always commenting it means a lot to me.
Looks really good Brian. I used to do it that way. but now I cheat. I use Meguire's PlastX and then hit with Griot's sealant......But you are right, same stuff they use so no need in buying the kits at extra cost
You’ve gotta wet sand the headlights, I use 1,000, 1,500 then 3,000 on a drill without putting heat into the lens and then polish them and they look like new, takes some time 45 minutes to an hour per light but that beats buying a new one!
Nice work man! I recently ran across your videos & I’m loving them 💯👌🏽thanks for putting out this content to help the Detail community. What method do you use for HEAVILY oxidized lights?🤔
I feel like a more abrasive compound maybe would have helped. But they do look a lot better. Now you just need to get rid of those halogen bulbs and put some LEDs in it. Your wife will definitely be able to see at night.
Zach Barker Fast Correcting Cream is a heavy Compound and once I put the boss machine on it worked better. They are much brighter at night. I just wanted to show a way you could clean headlights without buying a kit. Kits usually comeback after a year anyways and that’s about how long this lasts. Thanks for watching
I gotcha. I tried a kit on mine. It was a hand polish and it didn't work out to well. I just ended up ordering a new set off Amazon for 80$. Cheaper then buying a polisher and everything.
I understand that. I don't have to tools at that time so it was the cheaper route. After using the microfiber pad would it be good to use a hard foam pad? I ask because I went back and watched Adam's headlight video and the microfiber was used first then the foam pad really seemed to clean it up. I'm sure the age and condition makes a difference. I'm trying to learn and pick up techniques from everyone to get the best results. I know you said the other car you did turned out great I wonder if that plastic was just to far gone.
Zach Barker Honestly there is no right or wrong way. Normally I use a hard white pad followed by a soft pad then sealant. That’s how I started this video but wasn’t getting the results I wanted. No 2 jobs are the same so sometimes you have to do something you normally wouldn’t do. The Acura wasn’t as bad as the Jeep but they were yellow and hazy. It just would have made for a better video. Just try different compounds or creams with different pads and eventually you will find something that works for you. That’s how I did it. Just make sure you don’t get the plastic to hot!
Daniel Nielsen I do wet sand normally and like I said at the end of the video I might later. I just wanted to show people that it can be done with a polisher and polish because a lot of people are not comfortable wet sanding. Thank you for your comment and for watching.
You just have the best videos out on you tube brother!! I enjoy them and can’t get enough!
Kris McCarthy Thank You so much that means a lot to me.
The wet sanding makes such a difference. I watched the other video and that's how I have been doing mine. Wet sanding for sure!
same they looked almost brand new
Great video.. looking for more videos on the jeep👍🏼
Amar Mohamed Thanks! There are several more to come.

Headlights look good as long as the BOSS is happy that all that maters..lol... Your right some products will last . Great job Bro
Ouzo Lou Garage Thanks! It should last 6 months to a year then I will do it again.

Camaro Time Thanks Pete! I have never tried PlastX. It’s just a inexpensive way to clean them with decent results.
Bug spray works ,, trust me bro
I was going to recommend wet sanding but you mentioned it later in the video. Like #5
johnnypro Yeah I might do it on down the road.
2k then 3k grit wetsanding then buff. It'll look new
Noah Helmers like I mentioned at the end of the video I might do that on down the road.

Jeremy Smith I plan on sanding them probably this summer. When I made this video I didn’t have time to do it that way.

What method do you use for HEAVILY oxidized lights?🤔
Elite Auto Detailing Thank You I am glad they are helping people like you out. For heavily oxidized I will wet sand them then add a Sealant.
You may have to sand the headlight for elite results....or use a compound with better cutting pad
Dee Jay I plan on replacing them because one has a huge gouge in it. Sanding would make them a lot better.

Zach Barker That’s what I would have done but I didn’t want to spend anymore money on it.
I understand that. I don't have to tools at that time so it was the cheaper route. After using the microfiber pad would it be good to use a hard foam pad? Wet sand 1000 then 2000 then compound and polish.
